Not bad for used
I was afraid of what I was going to get being a used product. The price should have been closer to $60. but there were only a few scratches on top. I was also nervous about the fast forward and rewind but they worked perfectly and did not eat my VHS tapes which are over 20 years old. I bought it to convert them to DVD and some of the tapes would not go in at first but I kept trying until they did. It came with the remote but I never used it. It worked for the project and did not destroy my tapes so I'm happy

PANASONIC VCR
These are among the last totally video casette recorders on the market. I purchased 2. Used 1 for tape duplication with another brand. It works just fine. I purchased 2 more. This makes 8 brand new units of varying brands stored away for future use. Plus 5 set up throughout my home always taping something. VCR's no longer can be repaired and when they break, they are just thrown away. And now that Panasonic has shut down plants worldwide, we soon may resort to watching live TV and no more free tapes borrowed from the library.

Adiquate
I assume that it was used device, rebuilt with some parts new, other somewhat worn. I wanted one just to play VHS videos I still have on hand. I will not copy movies from the TV, so the machine had to connected up a little differently. Now it works better than when it was wired according to the instruction book.

Turns itself off, doesn't work
Came with remote and cables, didn't work. Put in a tape press play, it immediately stops itself and turns off. Tried several times to play or rewind, used buttons on it and the remote, only stopped and turned off every time. The power cord was cut and respliced together, which I wasn't concerned about until the unit didn't work.

As Advertised ...
Just opened the box and replaced the unit I bought locally on Craigslist (Mitsubishi), which was not accepting my tapes without a lot of hassle which I will spare you from. Condition was advertised as GOOD and I would not have complained if it were advertised as VERY Good. I plugged it in without even connecting to my computer and it smoothly accepted & ejected several VHS tapes as well as two different VHS-C Adapters. I then plugged into the device I am using to connect to my PC to allow me to convert about 40 or so tapes from the late 80's into the 90's to digital and fired up the program and am happily looking at these old gems as they begin to transfer all of the videos of my kids childhoods to digital. It's early to write such a stellar review, as there is a long way to go before I've completed this project - but this works the way I recall VCR's working. Quietly, auto adjust on video noise, good audio. Again - AS ADVERTISED - there are no instructions, so no surprise, but I gave up on my first effort to set the clock using the remote ... (I'm not a blinking light kinda guy), but the remote functions all seem to work - so I'll figure that out later. If things change, I will update this review, but as it stands right now - I'm happy with the seller, the product and the price and would recommend this seller and take them at their word as delivery was timely & the product was what they said it would be.

It works but...
Wanted to pick up a VCR to pull some VHS tapes to digital on my Mac. The VCR works but tracks poorly. There are always lines across the bottom part of the picture. I've tried many tapes. All the same. I knew that it was a risk buying used so I'm fine with what it is. I'll try and clean it up and see if it does better. I found another that works fine for now...

2013...There will NEVER be a good VCR like this again!!!
Its a shame but no matter how much you spend on a new vcr dvd player/recorder they will never be quality ones like this again. These vcrs are work horses and even when you stick a tape in they sound better than the new vcrs which sound like they are going to explode when you stick a tape in. Everyone needs to purchase this model cause its the best ive ever owned.

This VCR was used but rebuilt. Hence the price 200cad - 300cad. However, when it arrived, I inserted a VHS cassette into the VCR, at which point it started making grinding noises and it stopped and tried to eject the cassette, but it came out only halfway. I was eventually able to work the cassette loose as well as the tape which was wrapped around some of the rollers on the inside. Luckily the tape was not torn but it was mutilated. So, I took the lid off the VCR and the problem was obvious at first look. It was a 5” length of a 75mm color (diapositive) film used to make old style color slides for projectors wrapped around some inside components. So, I reported this in detail with photos to the “reseller” or whatever they are called. After way too many ‘back and forth’ they refunded my money with no offer of a solution. So, I still don’t have a VCR.
