This is one quality item. Works great. Very well built. Spend your $100 on this and you get your money's worth. There are a couple of things you should know though: 1. This joker is HEAVY. If you are going to mount this on a mic stand you had better have a heavy duty stand with a heavy and wide base. Placing it on a table is not an issue. 2. ***THE ONLY REAL COMPLAINT*** The shield has three legs in a semi-circle arrangement. Why in the world the two end legs are not mounted on the ends of the semi-circle for better stability is beyond me. My PSMRS11 is on a table. Atop the table is an acoustic panel. The panel is soft and squishy. The shield rests atop the acoustic panel. My shield wants to tip over on the acoustic panel only because the three legs are so close together. I've got to place pieces of foam under the ends to prevent this.

Solid, heavy-duty construction. The foam is of good quality. The curved metal has perforations to allow lower frequencies to pass through. This helps prevent colorations, as foam does not absorb those freqs. You will have to slide the mic back and forth along the track to get the best sounding position in conjunction with the polar pattern of the mic. While this obviously will not replace an iso booth, and you have to work to avoid undesired sonic artifacts when the mic is this close to a boundary, it is quite useful in a bedroom studio. NOTE- Unless you are going to sit this on a desk, it needs to be mounted to a separately sold stand. It includes a bracket on the back for adjustable clamping to a stand. This thing heavy and should not be used with a mic stand. You will definitely want to use a stand designed for supporting pole mounted speakers. My only minor criticism is that the slide plate that extends out to support the mic ought to be thicker. It flexes and sags a bit under the weight of a typical large-diaphragm condenser.

I prepare home recordings for a podcasting and broadcasting radio program series. I have a Rode NT1-A microphone connected to my laptop through an M-Audio sound card and the software I use is Reaper (Cockos). I do the recordings inside a walking closet with a decent acoustic but I was hearing some undesirable echo during my first first recordings. Somebody recommended this kind of devices and it changed my recording completely. The radio station called me to ask me what did I do to achieve this sound quality. The only change I made was to add this Acoustic Isolation shield and playing around with the position of the microphone. You need to understand you still need an isolated place to record your stuff. This device just help you avoiding reverberations because your voice waves will be taken by your microphone and the rest of waves are going to be absorbed by the shield instead of bouncing around the room with undesirable noise. But remember this is just a complement to the rest of parameters you should take care of. I can honestly say this device dramatically improved the quality of my recording!

If you are just a beginning artist, do NOT get this mic shield because you will then have to spend another $130 to get a stand strong and stable enough to hold this crap up. It weighs like 25 pounds i kid you not. You can get a mic shield of equal or better quality for less money, less weight, and less stress. Putting this shield on the mic stand as well is also very irritating! I'm mad I spent so much money on this crap.

The foam they used in this is superior grade. We have 3 "sound booths" like this here and the Pyle one is by far, the best. The foam is denser and it actually has an arch to the design. The others are more like half octogons, made of 4 straight panels. Only I don't like is the design of the mic arm they give you, it does not sit at the level of the feet. However I use a desk stand to keep my NT2-A in. I have also used this on a mic stand and it worked great. So I'm assuming the mic bracket, is designed for when you are standiing up using a mic stand.

It works just as described but make sure to have a mic stand that can withhold that sort of weight otherwise your setup will come tumbling down.

The stand is very weird and the actual shield locks weakly on one side, but it still does it's job nicely. It's not super great, but it helps.

Excelente producto. Aún sin contar con un pedestal, se puede sostener en una mesa. No es exageradamente pesado, pero recomiendo sostenerlo con un pedestal original de la marca Pyle que sea para este modelo. Es amplio e ideal para podcast y vocales. Lo recomiendo ampliamente!

This is an amazing product for bedroom\low quality room recordings, adjustable side panels to make it even more intimate, the bar to hold the mic is perfect and sturdy, mic holds well (using a Behringer C-1). The foam is really good at cutting reverberations. First off I recommend to always aim your mic to oblique axes (not parallel to any walls or surfaces), as the shield really helps me more with that, which is cutting the reverberations in a room (to have it sound more like a booth). I also close off the side panels a bit to make it cut reverb even more, you could even add a light sheet over the foam to block out more highs F's. The only con is it's weight, as this will not stand on a mic stand, it needs a speaker stand at least, but personnaly I simply set it on a table.

I do podcasts in an all concrete room with a Yeti Mic. It sounds AWFUL! Didn't want to set up permanent baffles, or talk from under a blanket (tried it, it's stupid). So I took a chance and bought this product. Thought it would help A BIT. But when I used it, it made me sound like I was in a recording booth (been in a few, so I'm not talking metaphors). The room still sounds awful, but the recording sounds smooth, with very little echo. An added benefit (or weakness). Heavy, solid construction. Love it for my tabletop. Can understand why folks would get frustrated hanging it on a mic stand, though.

Muy buen precio, pesado pero bien construido sirve para aislar ruidos como el bleed de as bocinas cuando no se tiene una cabina acustica separada, cumple su función y por el precio se me hace muy buena. Se necesita un pedestal de microfono pesado que lo sostenga eso si es basico.
