I bought this scratching post for my two adult cats, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. I was a bit worried when I saw how thin the base was in pictures, but it's actually much sturdier than I expected. My cats are pretty big and active, and even when they're really going at it, the post doesn't tip over. It stays put, which is a huge relief. The height of the post is the best part. At 80cm, it's perfect for a full-grown cat to get a proper, full-body stretch. That's a really important thing for their health and for keeping them from scratching up my couch. The jute material on the post is also a big win. It's a natural fiber that they really seem to enjoy digging their claws into, and it's holding up well after a few months of use. It's much better than a carpeted scratching post which can feel too soft for a cat who really wants to sharpen their claws. The only real downside for me is the little dangling toy at the top. It's a fun idea, but my cats ripped it off in about 30 seconds. So if you're buying this, don't expect the toy to last long. It's a minor thing, though, since the main purpose is the scratching post itself, and it excels at that. Overall, if you're looking for a simple, tall, and sturdy scratching post that's a good value for the money, this is a fantastic choice, even for adult cats.

This came yesterday. Quite heavy and a little awkward to put together for one person. But I managed it. Very sturdy, looks good quality and puss loves it. The height is great as she can stretch straight up. She also likes the toy. I sprayed it with catnip which I believe helped. Good value for money. Can recommend.

Good cat scratching pole, well made, appears durable and quite heavy weight. Only gave four stars cause the the ball on top came off straight away, but that could just be my cats. However, they still prefer the edges of my sofas!!😩

The materials feel appropriately soft where they need to be - comfortable for paws but durable enough for serious scratching. Maintenance: Too early to comment on long-term cleaning needs after just a week, but the materials appear straightforward to maintain. The sisal surface doesn't seem to trap debris, and any loose fur brushes off easily. Cat Approval: My Russian Blue took to it immediately - no coaxing needed. The height (80cm) is perfect for a full stretch, which seems to be exactly what she was looking for. The dangling toy was a nice bonus that keeps her engaged. Value: For an Amazon Basics product, this punches above its weight class. I've seen similar posts at pet stores for significantly more money that don't feel as solid. Overall: If you need a reliable, well-built scratching post without the premium price tag, this delivers. One week in and both cat and owner are happy with the purchase.

Easy to put together and seems sturdy enough. A good height even for my looong cat. She understood what it was for as soon as I had finished putting it together she zoomed over and started clawing away at it. will have to see how long it survives.

This is the best scratching post i have had. I have 12cats and they all have so much fun with it. The quality is excellent as is the stability. Well worth the money.

Brilliant quality. Very easy to put together. Nice and study this won't topple over easily. Just a shame my cat couldn't be less interested! If it was shaped like a sofa she'd be all over it!

Tall and sturdy. My cats love it. Doesn’t fall over great quality. Shows very little sign of wear after a few months. This is a keeper and I will buy another. Cats love to perch on it too! Well worth the money.

Ich habe den Amazon Basics Kratzbaum (ca. 40 × 40 × 90 cm) einige Wochen in Gebrauch und möchte meine Eindrücke teilen. Qualität & Material: Der Kratzbaum wirkt robust verarbeitet – die Basis ist schwer genug, dass er auch bei kräftigem Bespringen stabil bleibt. Der Teppich‐Bezug fühlt sich angenehm an und ist weich genug für Pfoten, strapaziert aber auch nicht zu schnell. Krallenpflege & Kratzverhalten: Meine Katzen nutzen vor allem den Teppich und die Seitenflächen intensiv zum Kratzen. Das Material bietet genug Widerstand, ohne die Krallen übermäßig zu beschädigen. Es erfüllt seinen Zweck, Möbel und Teppiche zu schonen. Komfort & Nutzung: Die Höhe ist sehr praktisch: Oben kann eine Katze „überwachen“, und unten gibt es genügend Fläche zum Liegen oder Springen. Meine Katzen nutzen beide Ebenen – sowohl zum Ausruhen als auch zum Spielen. Aufbau & Handhabung: Der Kratzbaum ließ sich relativ einfach aufbauen; alle Teile waren dabei und passten gut. Wichtig finde ich, ihn gleich auf einem festen, ebenen Boden zu platzieren, damit nichts wackelt. Optik & Integration ins Zuhause: Das braune Teppichdesign ist neutral und fügt sich gut in Wohnbereiche ein, besonders wenn du warme Holztöne oder Erdtöne im Raum hast. Er fällt auf, aber nicht störend. Verbesserungsvorschläge: Einige Stellen könnten mit der Zeit stärker beansprucht sein – z. B. die Teppichfläche. Eine Option mit austauschbaren Teilen wäre toll, damit man z. B. die obere Liegefläche nach Jahren ersetzen kann. Fazit: Für Katzenbesitzer, die einen großen, stabilen Kratzbaum suchen, der sowohl zum Kratzen als auch zum Entspannen taugt, ist dieses Modell eine gute Wahl. Meine Katzen fühlen sich offensichtlich wohl damit – ich würde ihn wieder kaufen.
