System Three Wood Flour, 5 Qt Tub, Brown

We got this to mix with wood glue to fill gaps in a wooden plank floor. It doesn't look like a lot but it goes a long way. Very fine, like whole wheat flour. Here's hoping it lasts a good while.

Worth what paid for

I understand what this is really designed to do, and we totally used this inappropriately to fill larger gaps and cracks in 100 Year old flooring. We used with Wood Flour Cement which I purchased locally. We made a thicker paste almost like oatmeal, and it's been holding up very well so far. When used like it was designed to, it would even be better

The pulverized wood is very fine and light. I've been experimenting with cold casting two part epoxy resin and building up a surface with this wood powder. It's temperamental and doesn't go onto the surface quite as well as fine metal powders do, but after a couple of layers, I was able to lightly sand and stain it. The initial test turned out promising. Also, there's so much powder in this container, that it will last a really long time for anything like what I'm using it for.

I'm very happy to have found this product! I had no idea something like this even existed. I used it in a different way than I have read others have. I made a custom plywood strip floor in my tiny house. Even though I was very precise with the cuts, there was still very small gaps between some of the strips. I mixed this product with a waterproof wood glue until I had a thick paste, which you can see in the photos I've uploaded. I used a body filler spreader to spread the mixture into all the cracks between the boards. Then simply wiped over the top with a damn cloth to lessen any sanding later. It was lighter than my floor color when I first applied, only because the floor had already been polyurethaneed over once before. Once I polyurethaneed the floor again, the mixture soaked up the poly, and is completely invisible! Now my floor has no open seams in it anywhere. No more dirt can get stuck between the boards. Excellent product that can be used in many different ways.

If you are buying this stuff, then you know exactly what you need it for and what it will do. It is basically very fine sawdust used to thicken epoxy. There are other epoxy thickeners out there (like silicates), but this one is reasonably priced, safe to use, packaged tightly, of consistent texture, and sold in a reasonable quantity (I didn't need a 5 gallon bucket or a 1 ounce eye dropper). I am making a wooden surfboard from scratch, which has ended up costing several times more than what I could have bought a world class custom board, so I appreciate that I can buy at least some of the supplies at a price that doesn't break the bank.

Very fine flour like product, great for areas on boat that where seams will be exposed. I also make my own by sifting sawdust but system three wood flour produces a better finish for exposed areas where appearance is important.
