Greatest whetstone known to man?
This whetstone is legit. Quick and easy to use, just add water. No soaking, not muddy, resists dishing. Pleasant feel on the knife. Has a very good balance of polish and bite for the knife edge, enough polish to de-burr with care and leaves enough bite on the knife to cut into tomato skins and other such objects which require a good edge. Only downside is that it needs to be air dried after every use but thats basically every whetstone aside from diamond plates. Is a bit expensive but well worth it in my opinion and i’m glad i got it (2 of them actually). Have heard of these cracking but thankfully i have not experienced this myself and hopefully with careful drying i will not.

Best I've ever used...
My photos don't match the review because the first one arrived broken, but Amazon replaced it with no issue. The second Chosera 3000 arrived perfect. I own; full Dan's Arkansas stone set, Sharp Pebble set, both Lansky's Diamond & there Arkansas set, along with various diamond stones. The Chosera 3000 has my favorite 3000 grit stone out of them all. I'll list the pro's over the others. - Sharpens about 5x faster than my Arkansas black (3000ish) - Load-up is slow to nothing. With both my Sharp Pebble and Arkansas stones, they require cleaning that takes about 5 minutes and need cleaning within 30 passes. The Chosera 3000 only requires spraying with water with a spray bottle. I'll spray some water on the area I want clean, then rub lightly with my finger. This is the most load resistant stone I've ever used. - Wears extremely slow. With over 200 passes among all knives I've sharpened this week is has yet to show any wear. - Has a satisfying feel when sharpening. Arkansas stones feel too hard, Sharp Pebble feels too soft, DMT diamond stones feel too scratchy. This Chosera stone feels the most comfortable/enjoyable to sharpen with out of any stone I've used. As a stand alone, this would work very well as a daily kitchen knife stone. No need to soak, very easy to clean, would last near lifetime. I love this stone.

This stone is one of my best stones.
Great stone. It took about 2 years to actually be successful at making this blade razor shap, I forgot to add at the end of the video. You must use a strap when finished and all you need to do is 15 passes along with the green chrome oxide..

Easy to Use, and works well
I am somewhat new to the Japanese stones' for sharpening. However, I currently have a variety of sharpening stones. Diamond stones work well with lower grit: they are very aggressive and quick to sharpen. However, they will leave small marks on the blade. The Chosera 3000 will not. It will remove metal quickly and leave a nice, smooth edge. Shapton GlassStone go from low to high grit, but I have only used the 16,000. (I buy them from SharpeningSupplies.com since they stand behind their products well. Ceramic stones polish well at a higher grit (5000 or higher). These are excellent for aggressive sharpening too. The Naniwa Chosera 3000 moves material well from the blade. I really like using it. It is quick and effective. I have found that it feels less aggressive than diamond or GlassStones. understand too, that sharpening is personal and subjective, depending upon preferences and not a matter of one stone type being "better' or "worse" than another. This is a large stone, so the user should get much wear from it. Just slash and go. No soaking. One warning. I was using a diamond stone to flatten out the edges on my Chosera, and I accidentally snagged a corner of the Chosera and broke off a piece of the stone. First, the edges needed smoothing since I had contacted them with my metal knob on my assisted--opening pocketknife. For most knives this would not be an issue, since they do not have this knob. I probably was a bit careless. Regardless, the stone functions fine still. Just a note of caution. I really like this stone. It is among my favorite.

Great stones
Choseras are great stones. Good feedback, puts a good edge on a knife, and great price. The included nagura stone and built-in base are nice bonuses.

Included base is hard to remove.
Stone is great, good size, fair value. The build in base is terrible. It slides around on the counter, and mine had a different type of adhesive on the bottom, it was some kind of epoxy, took over an hour to remove the base from the stone, and I had to use a grinder, no (reasonable) amount of heat would soften the adhesive. So, five star stone, -1 for the mandatory base.

Chosera: best water stones you can buy
The Chosera line of stones are my favorite. I sharpen knives as a side job and these are my go to stones with expensive kitchen knives or knives with super steels or expensive knives in general that I wish to give the best treatment. The stones are splash and go, DO NOT SOAK, and are extremely hard and slow wearing while cutting metal very quickly. Smoothest tactile feel of any water stone I've ever used. Just an absolute joy to use. The 3000 grit is probably closer to most stones' 5000, it polishes far above the stated grit, like every other stone in this line. In a progression, I usually use this after a Chosera 1000, and before a Naniwa Snow White 8000, then stropping. This is the older version that is 25mm thick and comes with an attached base and nagura (which I never use but, I know some people like them). The newer stones are branded "Naniwa Professional" they are 5mm thinner and come without the base for the same price but are supposedly harder and slower wearing but I have not noticed any performance differences between the two versions so, definitely go with the older Chosera version as long as they're available.

Also nassmachen und losschleifen.
