I bought this for several reasons, including soldering. But I use it the most for evaluating vintage/antique jewelry and gemstones. I can hold a ring at any angle with the helping hands, which leaves both of my hands free to manipulate special lights and loupe. The table is heavy. The magnets firmly hold the arms steady and in place.

I bought this to assist working on model aeroplanes. I build mostly WWI. This is a soldering tool, but it serves well while rigging biplanes or attaching small parts or subassemblies. I cannot think of anything bad to say about it. If it gets fatigued, it hasn’t said anything to me. The heavy metal plate stabilizes my work . The heavy duty magnets anchor the flexible arms. I wish I had found this sooner. Highly recommended!

Works great for me. The base is quite heavy and sturdy. The magnets on the arms are very strong. I use them for holding wires together on vehicles that I am repairing or installing audio systems in. They hold to very well to the car body (even with a small piece of felt under them to keep from damaging the vehicles surfaces). The arms a pretty flexible and the clamps are of good quality also. I would recommend buying this product.

Unit is easy to assemble and base is heavy for stability. The alligator clip seem good quality and the rubber caps over their teeth is a nice touch. Came with 2 extra clips and caps for them. The only problem is it came here missing one of the locking nuts. See picture. Kind of disappointed with that.

Very happy with this! Was using an "old school" third-hand (couple of flex arms and an adjustable magnifying glass) and it was fairly small with limited arm reach as well as the arms being controlled via wing nuts. A friend got this one and showed it off to me as he liked it so much. Got one after that and really like it. The arms are substantial and stiff enough for holding/managing larger and heavier items than what I was using. Also like that it comes with 4 arms (the version I ordered) and you can get more. The clips are a nice size and have thick protectors so they grip board and such well. Has nice weight so it does not shift around or have any possibility of tipping. The arm bases are magnetic to they not only stay in place when you use them but my work bench has a steel frame so I can use it with that as well (nice plus).

I have large hands, that require xl or XXL gloves. Working on my fpv quadcopter with magnum hands can be challenging. The Kotto Helping Hands Soldering Tool has been very useful since it arrived. With one pair of the arms I am able to hold the quadcopter's frame. In the 3rd arm I was able to hold the new motor and it's wires in the proper position. That leaves my hands available to hold the soldering iron and the pliers to get the repairs completed and get back in the air again. It is way easier to complete repairs with this piece of useful equipment. I tried to add a picture but I messed up the photo permissions or something. Have a great safe day or night Y'all!

This is a quality product! Outstanding finish! I use it for my macro photography. The "arms" are flexible but strong enough to stay in place. Highly recommend this product.

Why did I wait so long to buy this? If you do a lot of soldering,crafting, anything you could use another hand for this is great. The base is nice and heavy so it stays put and the arms are nice and strong. Another great feature is that since the arms are magnetic you can use the while working on your vehicle because they will hold to any metal surface. Super handy while soldering lights etc. Excellent Product!!
