There's a lot of bad reviews for this product
There's a lot of bad reviews for this product, but it's what I call my miracle eyeliner. I'm semi-new to makeup (I've only been wearing eyeliner for a year), so I've been trying lots of stuff trying to figure out what works. I bought this on a whim and it was AWESOME! The formula is extremely long lasting (exactly what I need when for 8 hours of wear and school)- it doesn't smudge or smear. The color is perfect, and the brush is easy to use for a beginner like me, and makes perfect lines. I honestly felt like a superstar wearing this every day. It is hard to get off, but I like it because I know I won't be walking on eggshells all day trying to keep it perfect. You never have to reapply either, it stays exactly as is.

Terrible disappointment from a former fan
I used to use this product for years. It was really good. Easy to use, stayed on without smearing etc. The last time I tried to buy it, it was horrible. Dried out, and separated. Not anything like it used to be. After going through other products looking for a next best option and not finding it, I decided to try it one more time. Again, it was separated, dried out, and no matter how much I tried to shake it to get it to be actual black instead a vague gray smear, it won’t work. Horribly disappointed. It’s like they sold bottles that were 10 years old.

Functions well
I've been using this liner for about a year now. The applicator takes a little practice to use, but in all, the quality of the liner is pretty good. Stays neat and precise all day. No smudging or smearing at all when it dries. Has a little bit of shine.

Missing the ball...
It's still my ultimate favorite eyeliner. Nothing like it on the market. However, the 2 bottles I purchased don't have the little ball inside to help mix it. That sucks but I've found if I shake it for a full 90 seconds, violently I might add, it still does its job. But shame on the Maybelline store for sending out what's probably old, been sitting in a warehouse somewhere, bottles to the public. They should make them fresh like they used to. I understand from a business aspect that if they have it already in the warehouse why not sell those but just like any other liquid eyeliner, afterwhile it does dry up and/or separate. So maybe my trick will work for others that love this stuff.

OMG! Don't even try!
I like using colored liquid eye liner instead of heavy eye makeup and am always looking for new colors. Since purple is my favorite color, I was pleased to see this one for a reasonable price and made by Maybelline, no less, a company I usually trust. This eyeliner was the worst! It has to be shaken before application, which is not a big deal, except that even shaking it doesn't seem to improve the quality liquid. It is difficult to paint on in a seamless line and I had to go over my eyelid a few times to get a good line. The applicator tip was supposedly designed to be used in two ways by turning the brush - one side to give a thick line, the other a thin one. Neither side gave a good example of either type of line. And now, for me, the worst problem. I didn't have the eyeliner applied to my lids for more than a minute or two before my eyes started burning and tearing so badly that I couldn't see! I had to rush into the bathroom and flush my eyes repeatedly before I could see properly again. I don't imagine everyone has this reaction since the product seems to be selling - but just be aware that this eyeliner may not be for you on several levels. I am very disappointed in Maybelline for putting out such a shoddy product. This one went right into the trash can. You might want to try NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Epic Wear Liquid Liner, also here on Amazon, for a trustworthy liner at a good price that comes in several colors.

Ran out too quick!
So, I had the pleasure of using this for our ballet troops recent production of the Nutcracker. 52 company members and 40 extras were all required to buy this eye liner, and while the members do their makeup themselves, all of the extras have their makeup done by volunteers. So over the course of 4 shows, I was the eyeliner lady for all 40 extras- that means that I applied this eye liner to 160 faces, or, wait for it, 320 eyes. Needless to say, I got a lot of practice with this stuff. On a positive note, I will say that I appreciated the attempt at the applicator. If you hold it one way it creates a thin stripe, and if you hold it the other way it creates a thicker stripe. We were instructed to use the "thick side" and the applicator itself was pretty good. The problem was that by the last show, many of the eye liners were already out. Basically each kid only got 3 uses out of their liner, because by the 4th show, the liner was chunky on some, and just straight clear liquid on the others. I felt like I could shake and shake the bottle to try to get more out of it, but nothing was happening. For our purpose, the liner worked, as most kids would have to buy a new one for next year anyway. But I would NOT buy this as an every day liner, simply for the fact that there just isn't much good product in the bottle. Why spend this much for just a few days of use?

Not Too Impressed
I'm pretty disappointed in this eyeliner. Unfortunately I bought it in multiple colors and opened them all so I don't think they can be returned. For a liquid liner it is very "thin" for lack of a better word. It takes a lot to get a line with full and even color. I had to go over my line multiple times and there isn't that much in the bottle. I started to do my wing on one eye and it was useless and I do it would not work well on the other eye. The consistency is too thin. The color would be fine but you need to do way too many coats to see it. Thumbs down on this one. Don't waste your time.

Different
Well, I like how it looks. It’s the perfect color. Just light enough to be there but not look like heavy makeup. It stays on well too. The applicator is not my favorite but it works. Arrived quickly but the packaging looked old and tattered a bit. I also got a stye but not sure it’s due to this makeup. Just interesting how it happened after using it and I haven’t had one since I was a small child. To be fair though, I have super sensitive skin. I had no trouble wearing this makeup so I’ll give it another try after I heal up.
