Love this rice. Rich nutty flavor as much as you can expect from rice. Firm texture but can be adjusted by your cooking skills. Health? More so the white rice for sure.

I have inflammatory PCOS. I have a histamine intolerance to foods. Which means I also can't spike my blood sugar levels. Black rice, in proper portions and prepared correctly, is very low glycemic index and does not spike my blood sugar levels. So this is my go to grain to have with a meal since my body can't tolerate many other grains. I love that black rice can be used in savory or naturally sweet dishes. I sometimes just warm up some black rice, coconut milk, and blueberries to have as a dessert. No added sugars or substitutes needed. This simple ingredients satisfy me every time. This brand is probably the best black rice I've had too. It's so hard to find locally and when I have it's not that great of quality. So far I like most of Yupik's brand that I've tried. Really good quality and value for what you get. It comes in a good, sturdy resealable bag, but I always empty mine into glass jars. This bag lasts me about a month of eating about 1/2 cup prepared, almost daily.

Quite an experience, this rice. Tastes more like brown rice than white. Full of anthocyanins which is why I wanted to try it.

Looks stunning and tastes delicious! It’s also much more healthier than white rice. The black rice has a deep black color and it turns deep purple once it’s cooked. I love mixing white jasmine rice with 1-2 Tbsps of black rice which gives it that deep purple color, than I let it soak for 2 hours before cooking ( this allows better digestion). It’s almost too pretty to eat, my family loves it! Fun Fact: Black rice is a nutritious, high-fiber, antioxidant-rich rice variety that's a staple in Asian diets. It's also known as forbidden rice or emperor's rice. In ancient China, black rice was reserved only for the emperor and royal family. I will most definitely be repurchasing this again.
