Works with new 12" macbook.
For those who are wondering like I was....This cable does work with the new macbook with its singular usb C port. This will connect to a display port monitor and the full range of the monitor's native resolution settings are available. Ours is an ultra widescreen monitor that has a native 2560x1080 resolution. This cable connects and sets perfectly. You won't be able to close your macbook and use it as a docked computer because the mac book requires adapter power to remain awake with its screen closed. You will be able to work on two monitors. Only problem is that you will be on battery power while doing so. Until someone makes a display port adapter with usb C power passthrough, this cable is the best option.

Monoprice USB-C Male to DisplayPort Male 3ft cable (112908)
I connected this cable from the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port on my Dell XPS 15 (2015) to the DisplayPort on my Dell U2212HM monitor. The cable connects securely on both ends, the computer recognizes the monitor immediately, and the image quality is perfect. It will not hold the signal in a stable manner. When it drops the signal, it causes the laptop screen and a second monitor connected via a Plugable DisplayLink docking station to flicker off as it attempts to readjust the desktop. When it reacquires signal, all the monitors again flicker as the Extended desktop again readjusts. This is with Windows 10 Pro.

Didn't work.
I don't know why but it didn't work on my Macbook (Early 2015, 12 inch).

Works for video+audio NOT for charging/power
Great port with the exception that it will NOT charge your machine while you are plugged in so disregard all of the stuff about power in the description. In fact you need to leave your screen open so if you are used to the old style of "closed macbook" to display, this won't work for you. The new Macbook certainly has its share of early adopter pain points!

Quality USB-C to DisplayPort Cable
This cable corrected some occasional odd behavior I was having with a cheaper USB-C to DisplayPort adapter on my Yoga 900. I highly recommend this cable.

Works great. Pretty long. Decent price. Seems durable. Will buy from here again.

Purchased specifically because it said it would handle 100W charging, but it maxes out at 60W on a 2016 MacBook Pro 15" with 87W charger.

4k monitor at 60Hz from newest dell xps
I bought the USB-C to DisplayPort adapter and after some problems with shipping they gladly sent me another one. The product itself is working great. I can drive a 4k monitor at 60 Hz from the thunderbolt port on my 2016 dell xps13 9650 laptop with this adapter just fine.

You would think if you paid 30 dollars for a cable it would work right? Well this cable not only did not have advertised speeds, but did not work AT ALL. I have plugged it into 3 other devices and it doesn't work on any of them. My motherboard with all drivers and every possible troubleshooting, my laptop, and a different phone. Have never been ripped off this hard in my life and now have a 30 dollar waste of space.
