Bee Equipment Essentials

What a great book, that came along at the perfect time for me!Ed (the author) spoke at a meeting for the beekeeping club I below to this past spring. As an engineer, I really gravitate to Ed's "Keep it simple stupid" approach to building beekeeping equipment. No time wasted here on fancy joints that eat away your efficiency. Simple, straight forward instructions for building the basic hive parts and functional ancillary tools as well.My abilities as a woodworker could be described as intermediate, and I was able to quickly build several 5 frame nucleus hive bodies, nuc supers and covers, based the book. In the following weeks, I was able to crank out some medium hive bodies, bottom boards and inner covers.The author's "Super Jig" is a great tool to create repeatably, square boxes and is the heart of following his methods described in the book.Highly recommended for the beekeeper who wants to build his own equipment in an efficient and simple manner.

Great book, easy to follow and very thorough.

The book is detailed and complete. It would be useful for any bee keeper who does not have the funds to purchase expensive, already cut and/or assembled hives.

I received the “book” but it was only an empty shipping bubble wrap plastic bag. I messaged the seller and it was quickly replaced….. the problem is- now they’re asking me to return the initial “book” I received……Please advise.Other than that, the book is greatEasy read, simple instructions.Nice addition to the bee library

Ingenius and easy to DIY stuff!Lots of time saved or less wasted.Most material can be found "dumpster diving".

A little disappointing in that it is is imperial measurements and there could be better coverage of other designs such as long hives. But overall, worth the money and time spent reading.

Very useful information

The book saves allot of time when making boxes. I no longer have to figure out the dimensions; then cut. The box making directions are clear.
