The real deal. Bubbly probiotic goodness.
Okay this is some good water kefir. I'm no expert, this is my 1st go at making my own water probiotic. But this stuff was very cost effective and beginner friendly. This keifer came with a filtered bag, very clear "care for" directions. I did watch a few YouTube videos so I kinda had an idea of what to expect. But if I was going in blind, this kit would have every thing needed to get started. I started off with 1/4 of a cup of grains, and I already have like a cup and a half of the water kefir grains. And I've only been at it for a month. My grains are healthy and growing well. I got a chance to read some of the negative reviews of how people were saying that the grains were very tiny and seeping right through the filter. I can confirm that this is true. I started off with some big chunky bits but as the kefir began to grow they grew into these little tiny things that would definitely seep through a regular filter. Because I read this negative review I was able to get ahead of it by buying a tea filter (Finum Reusable Stainless Steel Coffee and Tea Infusing Mesh Brewing Basket, Large) It was no problem draining the liquid using this tea filter and I was able to retain a lot of the culture and not lose it by drinking it all. I included a video where I put the water kefir grains in coconut water, molasses, baking soda and sugar. I'm almost positive that was probably wrong. Moving forward I always kept the water kefir grains in (just water sugar baking soda and molasses), then I did half and half of whatever I wanted to flavor with. So I would do 1cup keifer runoff to 1cup of fruit juice, I found the measurements work good for coconut water as well. So one cup of coconut water to one cup of water kefir, and that is how I made coconut water kefir to keep the integrity of the grains. I did this because I did notice the grains were a little lethargic after I had put directly in coconut water so decided not to do that moving forward. I wish I could have added another video of the end product. My probiotics soda was bubbling it was perfect like coconut soda, has a taste of beer plus what ever flavor added. My favorite recipe YOU MUST TRY is squeeze the juice of lemon and blueberry to make (1 cup of blueberry lemon juice) to (1cup of RUN OFF) of water keifer not into grains. Let ferment for 2 days then put in the fridge for 2days then drink. Cheers bubbly goodness.

The best kefir grains I have tried
These grains are very healthy and resilient. I have used many kefir grains from different suppliers and these are by far the best. Big, orange/brown grains set these apart from the pale yellow crumbs other sellers pass off as water kefir grains. They make very carbonated kefir that is not overly sweet, and has a nice mellow fermented flavor. The 2nd ferment very thoroughly ferments and predigests the cup or less of fruit/2 quarts given. It doesn't taste sweet, even when very sweet fruits are used. That small amount of fruit will make 2 quarts of very flavorful kefir. If you like tart and anti oxidant berries try blueberry, blackberry, or black raspberry. Try pineapple or passion fruit if you like tropical flavors. I have cared for them very carefully and gotten amazing results, but there have been times when I have gotten busy and neglected them and was always surprised to see how fast they recover. Realistically, there will probably be days you don't get to it on time and its good to know they can survive. These grains come with very detailed and convenient instruction cards.

Excellent quality grains!!
These are strong grains! They made kefir right out of the package (usually it takes me a couple of times to get them "awakened") and multiplied after the first use! They almost doubled! I have never had grains that have done that! They work well and have made excellent water kefir. The price of the ones I ordered from a different seller had doubled and they were nowhere near as powerful as these were! This was an excellent value and an excellent purchase. I highly recommend!

So active and easy to use!
I've purchased kefir grains from three different sellers in the past few years and these are great! They send you a lot of grains, they're super active and reproduce quickly. I did have an issue a few weeks in with a bacteria imbalance that gave the grains a cheesy smell, but I rinsed them with filtered water for several batches and discarded two of the batches and now they're doing great. The plain kefir has a lovely apple/yeast flavor and produces a new batch every 2-4 days. I use raw turbinado sugar and filtered water to feed the grains and fruit juice, honey, and sugar when bottling. 100% fruit fruit juice concentrate also works great! Kefir soda loves fruit juice!

2nd purchase, Excellent product.
This is the 2nd time I've purchased kefir grains from this supplier. I'm equally impressed. I let my previous grains die because I stopped drinking kefir for many months. These new grains were just as viable as my last grains. With new grains, the fist batch or two of kefir isn't all that great, but by the third batch, these little grains are all plumped up, and are converting sugar water into water kefir like nobody's business! It has been less than a week, and my grains have more than doubled. So I split them, and I'm now making 2 quarts at a time. I always add about a teaspoon of Molasses and use 1/4 cup of sugar per quart. I also use tap water, but I let it sit for a day to get rid of the chlorine before I add the sugar, molasses, and kefir grains. I'm going to have to find someone to give my extra grains to, because I can only drink so much kefir! The kefir is done when it's a little sour and smells rich and yeasty. I strain the kefir water into a blender, and put my grains into sugar molasses water to start my next batch. Then I add small amount of any fruit and cinamon, maybe a little sugar or keto sweetener into blender the blend it. Then I pour into bottles and let it ferment overnight. It magically turns into delicious fizzy, natural, probiotic soda!
