Chia Seeds that Go With Everything!
I've become a chia seed nut (ha ha! no pun intended there!) My point is, since getting this bag of chia seeds, I've been adding them to everything! I was looking for a way, after trying a vegetarian challenge for a month, to get more protein and fat into my diet, to meet the daily requirements for good nutrition and health, and I had read that seeds are an often forgotten way to add good fats into a meal plan. I've read recipes for putting chia seeds in soups, salads as sprinkles, to encrust meats before searing, to mix in with rices and grains, added into smoothies, mixed into granola/granola bars, and so many other ways. So I bought this bag and waited for it to come. Immediately, I put some seeds into a smoothie. They blended nicely, leaving a nice thickening agent to the smoothie that was unexpected but quite pleasant. It also left some of the seeds for a nice 'pop' in my mouth when drinking through the straw. Next, I tried them in some of my salad dressing recipes, and it was the same thing--the seeds in the blender with the dressing ingredients helped to thicken the dressing naturally. I love that bonus factor. I love tossing a handful of seeds on top of a salad too. They go great with savory or sweet dishes--yogurt, cereals (hot or cold), fruit, you name it. This is a very nice bag with an easy to open and easy to seal and re-seal closure at the top. The bag is the flexi-metal-ish bags that keep things really fresh, so I've been able to store these in the pantry without worry. The bag is sturdy, so there's no worry or breaking the bag or of critters that might chew through it like they might a cardboard storage box. The seeds inside are nice sized, whole and clean. There's no seed 'dust' like I've found with some lower quality seeds, and no hulls left in the bag without seeds in them. These seeds are whole and appear high quality seeds. Their flavor is good, nutty and fresh. I don't mind eating just a spoonful of the seeds by themselves, even, that's how good they are. I will definitely buy more of these chia seeds and recommend this product to others who are interested in trying high-quality chia seeds.

Use in smoothies to get their numerous health benefits
I purchased Chia Seeds from different other sources, but Amazon has the lowest price. I am very familiar with this brand, Spectrum Essentials. I purchase their coconut oil, flax seeds and oils and I am very happy with the quality. I purchased the Chia seeds to use in our daily smoothies. If you are unfamiliar with Chia seeds, you need to know they have many health benefits such as: - loaded with antioxidants - high in quality protein - high in Omega 3 Fatty Acids (more Omega-3 than salmon!) - high in bone nutrients - large amount of nutrients with very few calories Besides smoothies, you can also use Chia seeds to make Chia water (Add 1 tbsp of chia to 4 cups of water, and let it soak for 20 mins.) or Chia pudding (Add 1 tbsp of chia to 6 oz milk - dairy or non-dairy. Add in some honey and leave it in the fridge for a couple of hours. Top your chia pudding with fruits, nuts, oats or anything you like). When eaten dry, Chia seeds taste a bit like poppy seeds. When soaked in liquid they become plump, sweet and soft like tapioca pearls. I store them in a jar and when I open it I notice a very pleasant smell that resembles apples. I have never had any bad experiences with this brand and I highly recommend it.

So slimy and rich!
Expensive but the best chia I’ve ever bought. More slimy than any other brands. I love it!

Coconut & Chocolate--YES
I have been adding this to oatmeal for years!!!! Great source of fiber--think heart health. In recent years, I began adding it to yogurt and protein smoothies/shakes. Flax Seed absorbs well when added with a quality protein. Too bad I hate cottage cheese because that is one Flax Seed with which matches really well. NOTE: Chia expands the longer it sits in liquid, so you want to begin eating/drinking fairly soon. That said, the taste is great, especially if you love coconut and chocolate.

Give chia seeds a shot!
This was my first time trying chia seeds, and I must say I really enjoy them! They have absolutely no flavor. They just add a little crunch to dry food and a crunch with a gel texture and thickening effect to liquids. I feel like I can put them in a ton of different things- smoothies, salads, toast with almond butter and bananas, cereal, yogurt, muffins, etc.,-and I barely notice them. Some people find the gel consistency in liquids unappetizing, but I have no problem with it. Kind of like raspberry seeds in a shake, but softer. I think health-wise, the biggest differences I've seen are decreased appetite because they help me feel fuller, and awesome growth of my nails! I eat about 2 tbsp a day. They don't seem to help me with energy or bowel movements, but I did just have a baby and I'm SUPER sleep deprived. I doubt anything could help right now except an actual full night of sleep! I probably won't reorder this brand, because I found another option on here for a 2 lb bag for not that much more. But if you are thinking of trying chia seeds, I would recommend it!
