This is a light bulb that screws into a normal light fixture. Nothing special needed to make it work. I really liked it, it was powerful enough to make a great lighting effect on the ceiling. The light effect is static, it does not move or rotate, so if you want something that rotates you will need something different. That being said, for $12.99, this is a very economical lighting effect. I recommend it. I purchased this LED Disco Party Bulb Disco Light for my daughter for her 6th birthday, it was an instant hit !!! She loves putting on her own mini concerts with her karaoke machine and her disco light !! I was pretty skeptical of purchasing this as cheap as it was , I wasn't sure it would even work at all or actually be enjoyable but it is great !! We screwed it into one of the sockets in her ceiling fan while slightly unscrewing the remanding clear bulbs so the only light was that of the disco light bulb. My daughter leaves it on for hours while playing and it still works just as great as the day we got it !! I would definitely recommend this product if your looking for a cheap route to add fun to a party or just as I did , to bring a bit of fun to a room full of kids!!

This is a great product. I bought this in a hurry and went by the picture provided-- I did not read the full description. However, I was not disappointed. This is a LIGHT BULB with a motor that rotates colorful patterns on the floor and wall. You put the bulb in your ceiling fan that uses light bulbs with regular size bases--( check yours, because some of my fans use light bulbs with skinny bases.) Had I realized this was a LIGHT BULB and not a device that is plugged into a wall socket, I would have bought enough to replace more bulbs in my ceiling fan. However, even with the one bulb, it REALLY lit up one side of our living room that we made the "stage" for our disco dance party. This was so much fun for my girls' birthday party. I highly recommend this product. Just make sure you buy at least 2 or more to light up your entire room. I also suggest buying lots of glow sticks for bracelets and necklaces for a fabulous dance party!

Lamp spins pretty fast - more like psycho carousel than disco ball. Still, works right, doesn't make any appreciable noise and is quite bright. Smaller than the similar lamp I replaced that spun about 1/4 as fast, but failed after about 6 months.

Superb product. Arrived just in time, through prime, to jazz up our holiday party. Loved the range in this product - you can use it the way you want to. Plug it on a straight lamp for a small circular light or tilt the lamp a bit to color up the whole room. It's basically a bulb that rotates non-stop once it's plugged. Totally recommend it. You may want to order two if it's a really large room.

Very impressed with this disco bulb as well as the seller. The light is awesome. I purchased it for my granddaughter and she loves it. Worked as described and easy to use. Out of 3 of these lights, only one works correctly. I had to order another 2-pack from a different manufacturer. You either get, it works for 10 minutes and it stops working forever, or it works for 10 minutes and one of the colors stops working forever. Returned and ordered a replacement, they sent me another defective bulb. Yeah, I'm done. POS!Update: I took one apart to see what happened. The cheap plastic gears tore each other apart breaking off the gear spokes making it so it couldn't spin. Super cheap and lame plastic gears. Not made to last at all. I will never buy this brand again.

Simple light to change the ambient of a place at night, it gives out a great ilumination, and goes round and round .. i have used it in several parties and loan it to other friends.. Best thing for the value..i lave used it in my patio, and it works great for a space area of 30 x 20 feet..
