My new favourite string
I first tried these bass strings when they were on special offer. They sounded fantastic on my old Fender Precision. The slight coating is smoother on the fingers than I anticipated, but they dont affect the sound. I play old classic rock fingerstyle and with a pick and am more than happy. I dont like really bright zingy strings and these are not too bad.

First set were good , second set went dead very quickly
Being a long time daddario bass string fan; I was itching to try these out. I had seen a lot of reviews on forums and YouTube that were not very complimentary at all about these. Most folk saying they go dead quick or sound lifeless after a few days. I just had to try them for myself , as they say , the proof is in the pudding. I put them on and initial thoughts were ‘these are as near as damn-it to NYXL strings’ which I had on my bass prior. There’s a slightly noticeable detection of a coating on them as NYXL strings have a particular feel that these didn’t have. The coating is no where near as noticeable as a set of elixir ( but will they last as long as the king of coated strings ?) . They have slightly more tension which I noticed on the action as it raised up a tad, a little truss adjustment sorted that out , but sound wise straight out the packet they were just like NYXL. First set I bought: After a few days of playing they did round off quicker than what NYXL do, but some folk like that . Personally, I think NYXL strings sound better at around there 2-3month old mark, so it didn’t bother me. Lasted a good 3-4 months before I took them off. Second set I bought: after a couple of practises and one gig, they went totally dead , flatter than a pancake. They came off very quickly .

Dead too quickly for coated strings
These strings went dead after 5 hours of playing, very disappointing for coated strings.

A bit meh
Don’t really last any longer than uncoated strings and sound dull. Not for me. The only plus is that they’re cheap(ish) but even then I would rather pay more for better quality.
