An Inspired, Must-Have Recipe Book
This is a great book for anyone who has felt intimidated working with pizza dough and/or apprehensive about varieties or combinations of toppings.Suzanne Lenzer takes all of the guess work out of the dough recipe and brings to life the extraordinary topping variations, both indulgent and healthy, that are possible. Her simple dough recipe is delightful and it can be frozen for future use, to be easily used with no loss of flavor.Suzanne’s recipes open up a whole new world of pizza, much more varied and interesting than your local pizza shop. In fact, her pizza is one of the very best that we’ve ever had – thin crusted and delightful. One of her tips is that fewer toppings often make for a much more memorable pizza. Keep it simple with minimal essentials, perhaps three to four toppings at most, in small amounts. Recipes from around the world, and interesting fixings, add to the distinctiveness of this very easy-to-read book. The book is smartly divided into chapters such as the dough, the sauce, vegetable toppings, meat toppings, seafood and poultry toppings, followed up by chapters on tasty salads, side dishes and snacks. The photography makes you want to eat some of her pizza right this very moment, while Suzanne’s concise, easy-going writing makes you feel that you’re talking to a friend. Also engaging is the way Suzanne involves family in her anecdotes. Isn’t that what cooking is all about? – Love, Family and Good Food.

TRULY, YOU WILL FALL MADLY IN LOVE WITH THIS PIZZA BOOK
Oh my goodness, this is an incredibly wonderful book and I enthusiastically give it the highest rating. It is not just about using “creative” ingredients to make pizzas but about the author, Suzanne Lenzer, and her ritual, approach and love for pizza that includes her beautifully written stories as a preface to each recipe. Her pizza dough recipe is absolutely delicious and very, very easy to put together. To date, I have made the dough countless times; I have used a food processor and a mixer (with a dough hook) and each makes perfect dough that you can use in 20 minutes! In this book, Ms. Lenzer includes chapters for outstanding recipes: Sauces, Spreads and Smears; Charcuterie and Meat Pizzas; Poultry and Seafood Pizzas; Sticks and Other Snack;, Salad Thoughts and Master Recipes and More. Also, she has written another book, “graze — Inspiration for Small Plates and Meandering Meals.” I highly recommend both books; you will not be disappointed!

Wonderful book!
I like this book really well and the dough turns out very well. The book provides a great number of ideas that amount to strategy to make it easier to cook up a great pizza given small amounts of time on a busy day when you get home from work and want dinner on the table with minimal hassle. I would give it five stars if not for the fact that it calls for a lot of ingredients that the average person will not have on hand and that can not purchased anywhere but in a large city. That said, I can use the ideas that are put forth here, and improvise as needed; there are some recipes that can be made with common ingredients and others that can be changed based on availability of ingredients. There are a fair number of recipes I will never use, yet the book is worth every penny of what I paid and I am considering buying more as gifts because it is bound to be useful to anyone wanting to make a great pizza at home. Making great pizza in your home oven is not always easy to accomplish, as I have tried for a long time and this has brought me much more success than I've experienced before.

Great book for branching out beyond basic pizzas!
This is a great book with innovative recipes that my family has had fun trying (only a few so far, but working through additional ones each week). I have one picky eater who has been pleasantly surprised by them (she's typically a cheese pizza eater). I like that the recipes only call for a few ingredients, and there are some base recipes for sauces/spreads that are used by more than one recipe, which can be frozen in small batches for use later on. The ingredients are often a bit more exotic than the local pizza shop fare - which adds to their appeal for me - and I haven't had any trouble sourcing them from our small local grocery store. Lastly, I have to give cudos to Suzanne Lenzer for emailing back and forth with me when I reached out to her with a question on modifying her pizza dough recipe to fit my kitchen's equipment and available ingredients. I imagine she is a very busy person, as we all are, and the fact that she took such an interest in helping me get the recipe 'just right' really touched me.

Revolutionised our dinner habits
This book has changed the pattern of our dinners. In the past I could not be bothered with the dough, the kneading, the rising, the punching-down, the second rise etc. This book makes the dough such a simple thing. Before work, I do a quick 5 minute mix and knead, and let it rise for 20 min. Then into the fridge for the day. When I get home in the evening, the dough is ready to stretch and cover with whatever toppings. Make sure your oven is very, very hot for the centre to cook well. There is a huge range of toppings described in the book for inspiration, as well as many side dishes. The paper quality is tops, the photos are excellent. Its a very readable book, and a practical one too. Top marks.

only one recipe for pizza dough, plus one for wheat pizza dough.
Only one recipe for pizza dough (and is not the best one)…plus one for wheat pizza. And at the end it tells you to figured out yourself by adding more flour or water if need it. If you would like ideas when it comes to toppings, the book might help you. I honestly though it would have more variations of pizza dough. For topping? I can just put whatever I like on a pizza.
