Athena Stuffed Vine Leaves, 4.4 lb., 1 Can

It tastes fantastic. As someone who has lived in the Mediterranean for many years, I must say that I am surprised that Chinese Wrapped grape leaves can be as good as any others I’ve purchased in a can. The price is a little high, but it’s worth it.

(1) The authentic Greek recipe was made in China until the US-China trade war of 2019-2020. (2) The manufacturer shifted production to somewhere in the Middle East (I forget where), and the quality was quite low, as others have reviewed. (3) the manufacturer shifted its production to Egypt, once more using the original Greek recipe. And now the quality is as good as before and tip-top again!

Like the flavor of this brand. In this can, they were a little softer than I prefer, but that happens with all the brands. Would buy again.

I actually ordered it several times by now. While the quality of the leaves varied (last one was a bit harder in consistency) but in general quality is great for the money value.

I love these grape leaves. The product itself is delicious, but EVERYTIME I have purchased them the can is terribly dented. I’m not talking about a “slight” dent, either. I’m talking about crushed, and almost impossible to open. I even had to throw a can away because it was impossible to open because of the damage, and I was terrified I’d cut my hand off trying to pry the metal lid off.

Love these, they taste amazing and such a great deal. There are approx. 50 to 60 stuffed grape leaves in this can.

Great flavor, has that nice tangy flavor I love. However the leaves are VERY thick and some are a pretty chewy/pithy from stems. Was expecting more for the price. I just buy the double pack of the Roland brand cans now. You get two cans for the price of one of these, but the leaves are cooked right with a medium thickness and they have great flavor.

Loved these dolmades!!! Totally buying another van ASAP!!!
