Great little tool for practice
It’s the simplest interface you can muster but iv got to have my tone and this delivers I run AmpliTube through it perfect software no latency issues after I run it back into my wife’s amp and it sounds great studio quality. I need to upgrade but it gets me the distortion I crave\m/ portable, time friendly easy to hook in.

Game changer for guitar practice for me!
This little gem is a game changer for guitar practice for me and at only 40 bucks it may the best toy I ever purchased for my guitar playing. Here is why I love it so far. 1. I can practice with headphones now and all I have to do is plug in my guitar, headphones, and the iRig2 into my iPhone or iPad. 2. Portable and small. 3. No batteries needed! 4. The free app has several useful practice features allowing me to do away with having several apps open at one time to practice. The free amplitube app has a tuner, can import and play backing tracks, can slow down tracks, can add effects without pedals, can access the iPad's mic, can record my practice sessions, has a metronome and more. One app to rule them all! 5. I can also plug into an amp if I don't want to use headphones. 6. I don't wake my wife and kid up when I practice and don't annoy them when they are watching TV. 7. The sounds quality is excellent for my intended use. No feedback yet and the external gain control is nice too. 8. The free app is easy to use. I figured out everything I will use in five minutes. 9. Plug and play even for a newbie. 10. I get to try more amps and effects than I could ever afford to buy or even want to buy without ever leaving the house. Of course, some of those will cost extra as in app purchases so keep that in mind. 11. I practice more now because it is less of a pain to get going. 12. I practice any where I want without having to bring an amp. Just my guitar and a few small items in my gig bag. A few observations. For the record, I am using an iPhone and iPad without issue so I can't speak to how it works with Android or others. Seems pretty sturdy. The mic velcro could be useful in the future for live use. Packaging is nice. It is smaller than I thought it would be. The extra cost for in app purchases may annoy some but after reading some complaints, I was pleasantly surprised by what is included. I can't believe it only cost $40 and that it works as advertised. Big surprise. I expected more bugs but I guess this is pretty basic technology. Unless you are playing live for money or you need professional quality recordings, I would skip the HD version and save $60 by getting this one. Extra pedals, drums, and amps cost more. They range individually for as low as $2.99 and as high as $99 for an "everything they sell" bundle. You can download the Amplitube app for free and have a look at all the extras before you even buy the irig2 if you like and then delete the app if you choose later. I should have purchased something like this a long time ago. Happy playing everyone!

Got the job done, but could have been better.
I bought this to use at my church. I use it to be able to live stream from our sound board in the easiest and most cost effective way possible. Pros: It did the job. You just plug it into the phone or whatever you’re using to record. It couldn’t be easier. It’s cheap. Cons: It’s not made for what I was using it for. It only works on apple products. If you have a digital board, look for a digital version of this. It also was hard to determine the volume level on the irig. There are no markings just a dial type thing. (Don’t know what it’s called, sorry.) There’s no way of knowing if it’s peaking until you record and listen after you’re done. That’s not great for live sound. Finally, it has a hard time with hi tones. Our female vocals and our electric guitars would peak long before anything else would. Our circumstances due to Covid were that we wanted to spend as little money as possible to get a livestream of our services. The way I would sound check sound levels ahead of time would be to do one instrument at a time and record onto my phone and listen back to what it recorded. Then we would all play together and listen back to the recording. Every tweak we made required us to do another recording and listen to see if it fixed the problem. It was time consuming and not the best tool for the job, but it worked and we didn’t spend a lot of money. If you have the money to spend, get something else. If not, this will work it will just require more time and patience.

Great value. Close to the Irig HD 2 with distorted sounds.
I have been playing guitar with a traditional cheap amp for years. Just dealt with it because I didnt have the money to buy expensive amps and get good tones. Then I found ios, tonebridge, interfaces and sims... Game changer... Let me say, before I tried this, I was convinced that interface tech needed to be powered. Using an analog piece like this to convert signal would just be impossible, would result in either latency or muddied sound... I tried it anyway for portability and trying my iPad with my guitar on tonebridge or garageband for the first time. WOW. I was wrong. This item works much better than expected. Can't believe its only $40 to be honest. Pros: - No latency. This was super surprising to me. - Inexpensive way to get your guitar hooked into an iOS device like an ipad. This unlocks a world of options, amps, and tones (see below). - Sounds fine. With amp sims and aws tools (tonebridge, garageband) you can boost nearly any level/frequency so you can make this piece sound great Cons: -Honestly none. Zero, and I went into this HATING this piece expecting it to fail; it did not. -Could mayyyybe say you wanted a beefier piece, or better tone, but come on, not for $40... Final Impression: If you play traditional guitar and amps and have never tried interfaces and amp sims, this is an eye opening experience, like finding the guitar for the first time all over. Get an ios device, even a $150 ipad, then get this interface (or the irig hd 2, see below). Plug it in and get FREE apps like garageband and Tone bridge, and you will get amps and sounds you NEVER thought possible without thousands of dollars. Note: Also bought the iRig HD 2 to compare. If your sounds have gain/distortion, the difference is actually much more subtle than I expected. The Irig sounds muddier then then HD, but only very slightly. Clean tones there is a more noticeable difference. I went with the Irig HD 2 because I am willing to spend 100$ vs 40$ for any little bit of clarity, but if I was on a tight budget, the Irig 2 would work fine.

Muy fácil de usar y funciona con muchas aplicaciones. Solo lo conectas al dispositivo y listo (en mi caso dispositivos iOS). Cuanta con entrada para audífonos, muy practico.

Works perfectly, it took me a little to figure out how to use it properly but once I did it's never failed me once during a live stream or during a mix recording via my phone camera.

Ger gitarrspelet hemma en helt ny nivå. Koppla ihop gitarr, padda och lurar och få tillgång till en mängd effekter mm. Ingen förstärkare behövs heller!

I'll get straight to the point. Things to remember before buying this product: 1. This does not work with every android devices. Only Samsung devices support it. You can use other android devices but they all have latency issues. I tried with One Plus 5T. 2. If you have any IOS device (Apple products) then iRig 2 will work like a charm. I tried with new iPad 2017 model. 3. You will need to buy the amps, effects, looper, pedals, etc. once you install the Amplitube app. The free app has only 4 amps, 1 distortion, 1 noise gate, 1 delay, and 1 phaser. If you want a tube screamer then you'll have to buy if from in-app store. I think this is a neat product that allows guitarists to practice and play around with different sounds without have to spend a lot in buying real amps and pedals that are way too expensive to afford.
