8 Inch Side Zip Tactical Boots for Men - Waterproof, Durable, and Military-Ready with Safety Toe

So I did not write a review when I purchased these boots. I will now as the stitching failed on one boot. I have had them 2.5 years as a duty boot (8+ hrs a day not including OT) in LE and in Chicago. They were comfortable and lived up to my needs. Until this week, they out performed my 5!! and D@n@r boots which lasted a year at best. So I do recommend these boots (assuming the quality is the same). As an FYI, for LE duty, I only purchases composite safety toe boots. So my opinion is based on apples to apples.

Great boots overall, a little narrow in the arch, but a quick trim of the insole increases the comfort a lot. Keeps everything out of your boots, but they don't breath at all (as expected). I own 3 pair, so obviously worth the money.

They hold up pretty well and are fairly comfortable. I spend a lot of time on my feet in unstable environments like wet ground and unfinished attics. They keep my feet safe and stable and protect my ankles. That said, there are some cosmetic issues. The layer on the toes is already scraping off and one seam on the side popped open almost immediately. The shoe is still fine, but it's not as secure and doesn't look great.

So for $130 plus tax, I would expect these to not fall apart the first weekend I really put them to work in the yard. Otherwise, they fit as expected and were reasonably comfortable. Bought them three months ago and only used them occasionally and lightly until this weekend. You can see by the tread they are still relatively new. I wanted to like them and liked the composite toe. I won't be be buying them again to replace this pair.

This is a comfortable boot with toe protection inserts and a good quality zipper. Once you get the shoe strings adjusted correctly, all you need to do is pull them on and zip them up. They include a velcro strap that covers the zipper handle.

Only had them for about 3 months and they already have a hole in the side where a seam is coming unstiched.

I wear these boots only for work. Approximately nine hours a day split between warehouse environments and outdoors in both snow and hot weather. I ordered my first pair in January 2023. I ordered my second pair in December 2024 so they lasted me approximately two years. Obviously, I found them comfortable and durable. I have paid more for better boots that didn’t last me as long as these did. At the end of the two years, the zipper in the Velcro are still functioning. The laces have broken several times and need to be tied together in random places. At the end of the two years, the seams around the heel is popping and the glue that holds the sole on is letting go. For two months in the summer, I wear a lighter more breathable boot. That boot is usually thrown away at the end of the two months because he can’t handle the pressures I put under. These boots do not have enough breathability for the hottest days of summer.

This pair of boots by Battle Ops was just what I needed. The fit is spot-on for size 8. There's enough cushion from the replaceable insole to make trudging around in them all day effortless. Two other factors have impressed me: the composite toe and shank allow me to clear the metal detectors at our Plant without a squawk; and the waterproofing and padded flap along the side zipper make them ideal for the snow removal chores I face in winter. All-in-all a great brand and style of boot. Don't settle for some cheap, uncomfortable, knock-off pair of boots. These are available at a great price point and you should wear them proudly. ~TJW~
