An ideal towel in every way for various purposes but not lush like a traditional bath towel. A++++++
I purchased two hand towels to try them. They are purest white, great waffle weave cotton fabric, attractive and very efficient as a hand towel vs terry towels which are thick and often not great at absorbency. The hand towels are great as hand towels or kitchen towels in a pinch, and would probably be great to dry off small and medium sized dogs! The absorbency is quick and thorough and gets the job done very well. So a great towel in a lot of ways and great looking but not lush like the usual bath towels. Very efficient dryers and absorbers. A++++++

Love These Towels
I am officially converted. I fell in love with these cotton waffle bath towels and can never go back to fluffy towels again. I’ve actually been using this style of towel for about 12 years, and these are exactly why I stick with them. They’re thin and lightweight but still very absorbent, and they dry incredibly fast. No more heavy towels staying damp forever or developing that musty smell. They feel clean, breathable, and spa-like every time I use them. They also take up much less space in the washer and linen closet, which is a huge bonus. If you like towels that dry quickly, feel light, and actually do their job, these are a great choice. Highly recommend.

Luxurious and practical spa-sized towels—easily upgraded with a hanging loop
Folks, I have dried off with my last damp terry towel. At some point in my life I went from loving the luxe fluffy towels of my youth to resenting their inability to dry out between showers and—as my family grew to four adult-size people—their tendency to take up multiple loads of laundry every week and still retain that wet-dog adolescent funk. Enter the waffle weave. No, it’s not the 00’s epitome of towel meringue. No, it’s not like wrapping yourself in a My Little Pony cloud. However, if you can set those aside in favor of actually getting dry after your shower, waffle is your best bet. Despite being thin and sorta scrubby (in a good way!), they are quick to absorb water. The same magical surface area that sucks the water off your skin also causes it to evaporate efficiently (and thoroughly) between showers. They will soften over time, but will always lack the loop texture that gives terry cloth towels their fluffy softness (while also retaining water and breeding the bacteria that yield that wet dog permastink). That said, good waffle towels are not cheap. Switching is an investment and with teenagers routinely swiping my towels to take to the lake or park with their friends, I didn’t want anything too precious. Waffle bath sheets for less than $30 each (on Prime Day) makes Gilden Tree my Goldilocks towel. The Seafoam is a soothing blue-green that would likely complement beach or spa color schemes. One quibble: these need a hanging loop. Without it, you will eventually damage the woven fabric by hanging it on a hook, stressing that one spot above the hook over and over. Thankfully, this is an easy fix with some cotton twill tape (I used 3/8”), embroidery scissors (or a seam ripper) to pull out a few stitches, needle, and thread. See attached photo for an example. You could totally leave the twill white (or natural or whatever color you purchase). I happened to have some procion dye in a similar color (Dharma Kingfisher Blue to match the Seafoam towel), so I ice dyed a yard of the twill tape (and some white cotton embroidery floss to match) and picked the dyed sections for my hanging loops that best matched the towel.

LOVE these towels
I LOVE these towels. A lot. So why the four stars? I'm knocking one star off for price, but if these towels go the distance (more than a few months of daily washing without becoming less absorbent or frayed) I will absolutely up my review to five stars. I'm a big fan of thin towels, but they also have to be absorbent. I have tried "waffle weave" towels before, the ones with the loft/terry on the grid, but after a while the absorbency disappears and the loft goes out of the towel and the towels are basically just flat pieces of cloth. These Gilden Tree towels are completely different. There is NO LOFT or TERRY anywhere on these towels- NO LOOPS. When you get them they are super flat, pretty much the thickness of a common dishtowel. I was really concerned when I pulled them out of the package (and they were wrapped in thin plastic, too- no nice presentation in a laundry bag or recyclable packaging, which was a disappointment, considering the price) and they were just like extra thick bed sheets. But then I threw them in the wash (twice) and the towels basically shrunk and curled up, creating the waffle texture. It's kind of like what happens to one of those magic sponge cloths where they come flat like a piece of paper, and once you wet them they grow. The thing is, when you dry these towels, they remain a little more plush and fluffy (and the edges curl/ripple, too- so if you are a stickler about your towels being folded and on the shelf with crisp edges, these will make you crazy.) After that wash/dry, these towels became instant favorites. They are super absorbent, quicker to dry, stay white in the wash, and they don't have that cheap feel like most other thin towels I have purchased. If these last I will replace all my other bathroom and pool linens with them- it will be worth the huge investment. One note- they are NOT soft. If you want a comfy, plushy, soft experience against your skin, these are not for you. But if you are looking for a thinner towels that absorbs and feels good and dry and light against the skin- never heavy and damp even after you've draped it on your after a shower- these are for you. Highly recommended, but that price (and the packaging...)

perfect shower towel for gym bag or for travel.
Dry time - very quick. Unfold, lay it out, give it an hour, maybe flip it. If it is saturated, completely unfold it. Only air dried so far. Volume - fits in my gym bag with room for: 1 pair of sneakers, a 2L toiletry bag, and a change of clothes. Basically, it is not fluffy and will not take up all the space in your gym bag. Surface Area - Length: covers me from head to toe (5’ 7”). Width: armpit to knee when I wrap myself in it. Color - purchased gray. same color irl as in picture. Feel/touch - pleasant [feels rough on sensitive (sunburned) skin] but otherwise it has my approval. Stitching - 95% perfect right angles and boarders, some loose string along seams Durability - Waffle pattern appears to naturally be at risk of snags - avoid brushing the towel against rough surfaces. No lint Love it - worth the money.

Nice Waffle Towel and Great Size
Well made and nicely finished edges. Doesn't seem to pull like some do. I've washed it several times trying to soften it up and it's still a bit stiff and scratchy. I've felt much softer waffle towels and have several blankets from Peacock Alley that are very soft and cuddly. I've always used Matouk Milgro bath sheets but wanted to give this one a try. I chose this one due to the oversized bath sheet size as they all do shrink a bit and was hoping this might hit the spot. I'm not giving up just yet but it probably won't be my go to bath sheet. It absorbs well, washes and dries without much lint or shedding. The white has stayed a bright while in the length I've had it.

Low lint fast drying towels
The towels are a good size when washed and fluff out some. They are thinner than traditional towels but have almost no fuzz and dry really fast. I ordered more after I washed and used the first set
