I believe it may work better for a younger age group and it is sturdy
I bought it for my elderly Mother and she does use it. However, it is a bit too large and heavy to hold. I believe it may work better for a younger age group and it is sturdy.

Decent glass, excellent size.
The price is right. I haven't used it a lot, but I have used it enough to offer up my opinion. The handle is very comfortable, it's nice and big, and sits in your hand, instead of some of the narrower and round handles that you have to hold delicately like chopsticks or tweezers. I like that. It's man sized. I also didn't realize that there actually is a higher magnification loop on there, shown clearly in this picture! The area of the larger magnifier is what I really wanted, this is going to be used for working on models.I'd buy this again tonight. I hope it stays intact, and isn't too cheaply made, because, THE PRICE IS RIGHT.I'd probably go 4 stars.....but it's nothing to get totally excited about it. Serves it's purpose.

Not first-rate
This magnifier is light and easy to handle. It's more like 3x and 5x magnification - which is fine for most objects, though the small 5x magnifier must be held about 1" from the object. It's usable at a wide range of positions between you and the object being magnified. But the glass itself seems to have been molded rather than critically polished. It has a slight X-shaped flaw in the middle of the lens which is too weak to ruin the image but causes a slight wave in it. It was inexpensive for a large glass ($8.24 plus free shipping) and it did the job I needed it to do: I have history books with copies of maps from the 1600-1800's in sizes much reduced from the originals and needed some magnification to read the small print. So I gave it three stars.

It's great to see
You don't realize just how important vision is until you're loosing it! I purchased this extra large magnifying glass for my father for Christmas because he is suffering from Macular degeneration. It's tough when you've been an avid reader your whole life and then reading steadily becomes more and more difficult as your vision becomes worse. This magnifying glass was the most powerful one I could find on line which is the reason I purchased it. Dad likes it as well because it is very light weight enabling him to hold it for long periods of reading time. I give it 2 thumbs up!

Jumbo Magnifying Glass Extra-Large
I got this for my husband & we like the size, but it doesn't give a clear read, even the small inset magnification is blurry. The frame is of a cheap plastic & will probably break if accidentally droppped. I should have returned it but didn't 'cause my husband said he'd hang on to it. Maybe we got a bad one - good luck if you buy one.

Great for little kids - big and light
My son uses this in school for science class, and loves it. Since the reviews were so mixed, I bought him two so he could choose. This was the big light cheap one, the other one had a case and a built-in light. After two months, this is the winner. It's light, so his hand doesn't get tired, huge so he can look at big things, and still fits in his desk. No scratches yet, and the fancier magnifying glass has been lent to another kid - permanently.

Not so Good
It's OK, I guess I thought it would be better than what it is. It's plastic and the smallest magnifying glass is a waste for an older person, it really dose nothing at all in my opinion. Next time I will spend a little more money and get one that is of better quality.

Kid-tested!
I got two of these for my toddlers who are really curious about bugs. They are nice and big, and have been able to handle being dropped outside.

Decent large magnifier
I use this magnifier underwater when SCUBA diving. This is a repeat purchase made to replace one I lost on a previous dive trip. It is a bit large for this purpose but I really like the smaller 25x insert magnifier for looking at tiny animals like shrimp, crabs, nudibranchs, small fish, etc. and tiny anatomical details on coral and other invertebrates (not to mention the numbers on my gauges which seem to have grown smaller over the years). This is the largest convenient to use 25x magnifier I have been able to find, and so far overall this is the best magnifier I have found for underwater use. This magnifier has stood up to a lot of use and to the rough treatment dive gear gets from travel, boats, salt water, etc. (I average over one hundred dives per year). And I don't worry about losing it at this price. Most buyers won't use it this way, but I can say that whatever your plans are for this plastic magnifier, you will find it to be well-made and a good buy for the low price. It is certainly not a fancy magnifier but the optics and construction are OK. Good for outdoor use or for kids or school use (though I would probably file or sand down the seam holding the two plastic halves together before giving it to a smaller child to handle). Now that I think of it I might stuff one in my grandson's Christmas stocking. Less suitable as a gift for an adult user looking for something fancier though some buyers will appreciate the large size.

The glass doesn't quite have the magnification we were looking for so we are a little disappointed, but other products we ordere
The ordering and delivery process went well. The glass doesn't quite have the magnification we were looking for so we are a little disappointed, but other products we ordered at the same time have mostly filed the need.
