Universal USB C Docking Station for Windows, Dual Monitor Docking Station HDMI, Display Port and VGA with 87W Charging, 3 USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, Mic, SD and Micro SD for Type C Laptop

I was really looking for this to extend to two different external screens. Unfortunately, this does not do this however it does have so many ports I kept it and just got a separate usbc to hdmi adapter for my MacBook Pro. I wish the description would have made this a little more clear. I paid a little more for this thinking i was getting that ability. You can definitely find cheaper ones with as many ports for a cheaper price. I mainly kept this because I bought it at the height of coronavirus lockdown and started a new job and couldn’t afford the time to find something else and ship this one back. I have not had any issues with any of the ports and it has worked flawlessly so far.

When I put my laptop (Lenovo X1) on top of the docking station, after about 45 minutes in windows explorer drives come and go about once every 2-4 seconds, with no external drives plugged into any USB port. The X1 does get warm on the bottom, and transfers the heat to the docking station. If I remove the docking station out from under my laptop the problem completely goes away.The docking station has a VGA monitor, ethernet and an external USB 3 hub plugged into it. The external USB 3 hub has a NI-GPIB adapter, USB to RS-232 adapter with no flash drives plugged in. The power adapter for the laptop is plugged into the laptop and the docking station is plugged into another USB C port on the X1.

I had issues with the HDMI port not working. My cable works fine when plugged into my laptop, but when I plug it into this it won't register. The USB C cable that comes with it very short, so make sure that your USB port is close enough to the top of your laptop. The audio jack on the unit works well when your laptop is on. But once your laptop goes into sleep mode or shuts off, the audio jack will go nuts and make a lot of static noise. It's a bit annoying to have to unplug the audio jack every time, so I ended up keeping the audio jack on the laptop.Having to keep the HDMI and audio cable on the laptop defeats the purpose of this unit a bit, but it can still handle all of the USB cables I needed to run well. So for that reason, I'm keeping it. But it's not perfect.

When I purchased the docking station, I received an email from the company who sold it stating very clearly that the multiple video monitor feature would only work with a computer that has a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 3 capability. I believed mine did but I just assumed so because it was supposed to have been built using the latest technology. Turns out it wasn't. It was only Thunderbolt 2. Thunderbolt 3 is a very new technology and only became available earlier this year. Even the tech at the store where I bought it thought it was included with my computer.The docking station is great and works as advertised, just not on my computer. I have a friend who has a computer which does have Thunderbolt 3 and he loves it. I'm not disappointed with the product, only with my computer. Of course, all the other features work with my computer but I really wanted the multiple screen capability too.Make sure you do your homework before purchasing this docking station.

One of the pictures of the product shows a power supply for the dock which is required for laptop charging. This power supply is not included. Deceptive advertising, if you ask me. Furthermore, the recommend power supply does not have enough juice to charge my HP laptop. I'm going to try a higher wattage power supply and see if it works, but if it doesn't, I will regret this purchase.Update 10-21-19: I purchased an 87W power supply and this is now working with the dock to charge my laptop. Since the seller has changed the product notes to mention that the power supply is not included, I have adjusted my score to 4 stars.

Great USB hub. Attractive design (metal casing), portable. Only con is that the USB-C connector cable from the item is a bit short. Could have used another inch at least.Update:I just purchased a monitor with speakers and have it plugged in to this docking station with an HDMI cable. The sound was not working through the HDMI cable plugged into the docking station so I was using a 3.5 mm audio cable to bypass this problem. Only thing is that you have to change the setting on the monitor every time you want to use it/plug the laptop back in, which is kind of a pain. I just realized that plugging the HDMI directly into the laptop allows the sound to work through the HDMI cable, which is very disappointing.

I've had my docking station for 9 months now. It started out working great, but over the last few months, my dual monitors would randomly disconnect and reconnect while the wireless mouse and keyboard that were also plugged in, worked just fine. Today the monitors blinked off, and now I'm stuck with just my laptop screen. The mouse and keyboard still work great. Super disappointed.Update: Sylvia from Tobenone reached out to me regarding my issue, and sent a replacement unit. I'm bumping up my rating for great customer service.
