Great toy!
This is a fantastic little car. My 2 year old son loves it and its the first thing he asks for when he wakes up in the morning! It keeps him entertained so much more than I ever imagined it to. I would say this is the toy he plays with and loves the most out of all of his hundreds of toys!! He has had it 4 weeks now and hasnt lost interest yet... The only thing I would mention is the time it takes to put together, its a lot more fiddly than you would imagine so just make sure you put a couple of hours a side and get your muscles working...perhaps best to fix it together without your LO seeing it first. I thought before I bought it that the price was a bit steep for a plastic car, but actually it does feel very good quality plastic and the detail/quality of how its all put together resembles this. Its sturdy. Overall a fantastic buy, next to buy with it is the trailer and the petrol pump! Oh and just to mention, I know this isnt a review on Amazon themselves but I wanted to say how impressed I was with the delivery speed. I live in Spain, I ordered it late night Thursday and it was with me the following Monday!! Very impressed. Thank you :)

Actually not that hard to assemble, and he absolutely loves it !
This toy was bought for my son's 2nd birthday, expecting that he'll like it as he loves anything on wheels. I was right! My son's been playing with it for over 2 weeks now and absolutely loves it. His favorite action seems to be opening the door to get in and then closing it. Oh and not to forget honking the horn and turning the start key. So here's my detailed review of the product: Price & Packaging: =============== - I paid £31.99 in March 2016. - At the time of purchase, I though that this was a good price as having seen it at a family friend's house I though that it should cost at least £50. - It came in an Amazon branded box which then contained the actual toy's box/packaging (see pics) - As can be expected from Amazon, it was packaged securely to ensure no damage is incurred whilst in transit Construction & Body: ================ - The car is built of strong plastic and feels quite sturdy once assembled. - Only the left side door opens to allow the child to get into the car. The fact that only one door opens does not suggest a defect nor does it depict a bad design. My son is actually able to slide into the car from the non-opening side of the car. The door has a locking feature with the following three possible settings, of which only one can be selected during assembly: 1) Door in permanent lock position 2) Door in permanent unlock position 3) Door can be locked or unlocked as need be. - The steering turns but is in no way connected to the wheels to steer the direction of the car. - There is a horn in the center of the steering that beeps upon depressing it. - There is a start key that turns and makes a sound whilst doing so. - There are two slots at the back of the car that are suitable to stand a water bottle to keep your little one hydrated whilst venturing outside. - The tires are made of plastic and although I believe they will survive being used on a pavement, I think they are better suited indoors on smooth surfaces e.g. laminate. - There is a fuel cap that opens and closes. Assembly: ======== - I had noted that a lot of people had complained about how difficult it was to put this together so I was mentally prepared for a challenging job whilst ordering this product. But to my pleasant surprise it was pretty straight forward to put this together (albeit time consuming) and I faced none of the issues that others had complained about. So either they have complained unfairly, or perhaps the manufacturer has acted upon receiving feedback and rectified some of the issues. - In addition, many people also complained about sharp edges that had to be filed once the car had been put together, again I experienced none of that and am convinced that it is safe for my toddler to play with the car. - The main thing to bear in mind whilst assembling this is to give yourself plenty of time and ensure you have all the right tools. Also read the instructions carefully and patiently. I agree that one needs to be at least an average DIY'er to be able to complete this task correctly so if you are unsure then get some help. - Although the product documentation recommends 2 persons to assemble it, it took me alone around 1 hour and 35 minutes to assemble it end-to-end, including sticking the decals etc. And although I am quite comfortable with putting together flat packs, I do not by any measure consider myself an expert DIY'er. - Please do note that a drill and a hammer will be required for the assembly. Not everyone will have easy access to a drill so please be aware of this before purchasing. - It is recommended to arrange some sort of soft material that can absorb hammer strokes. This will be needed whilst hammering the axle ends especially if you would be working on hard/delicate surfaces such as tiles or laminate flooring. I took a piece of the cardboard packaging that the car came in and folded it a few times to make it into a nice thick piece of cardboard that could be used to absorb the hammer strokes. - Ensure you give yourself plenty of space to put this together - Do not attempt to assemble this anywhere near your child as not only does the assembly contain small parts that could be a choking hazard, but if the child runs away with a part or misplaces one then you may not be able to complete the assembly. Conclusion: ========= - In short, my son absolutely loves the car and we love it because he enjoys playing with it. I feel the price paid was reasonable for the quality of the product received and I do not have any safety concerns regarding the car. I would happily recommend this to anyone looking to treat a loved one.

Difficulty in essembling
I am writing this review just to inform other people who buy this product, end product brilliant, but essembly took +/- 2 hours, written instructions didnt make sense so went on internet for video instructions which made it so much easier to understand, wheels were very difficult to get on, screws didnt have screw holes, had to make them myself which was difficult, very difficult to reach certain screws in places as placed in very akwarad positions, roof difficult to put together, as takes alot of strength to put together, have put it up 3 weeks before christmas as read reviews online and also all siad took a long time, i would also advise putting together before giving to child a week or two before hand,, otherwise will have a very dissappointed little soul getting impatient waiting for 2/3 hours and we all know children wont wait, really advise watching video a couple of times before hand and have it playing while assembling, end product brilliant because child will love this and the smile and happiness it will bring them is worth the swearing and hours, frustration it takes to put together, believe me,after a few choice words and nearly throwing it out the window i managed to put it together, after watching the video for a couple of days and preparing myself, as a single mother with no man help around i was convinced i couldnt put it together but perservered, and managed to do it just like i said it took a very long time and alot of patience after swearing at it lol hope this review is helpful and good luck putting it together ur gonna need it lol xx

Brillian fun but hard to assemble
We had to send the first one back as one of the front metal legs had been incorrectly manufactured and there was no way it could be assembled. The second one arrived and my husband checked everything before assembling it. All went well until he tried to insert the left hand front pillar. Nothing would make it slot into place. We checked and re-checked the instructions and watched the video but it would not budge. Our grandson's birthday was only two days away so my husband had to resort to tougher measures. He purchased a rubber mallet and after protecting the area with some tough plastic, he hit it about four times quite hard and it slotted into place thank goodness. It is made of very durable plastic and can easily withstand a bit of brute force. Our son purchased an earlier model of this car which did not have a door on the side and he says that this car is a great improvement. We had six young children in the room last Sunday taking turns with the car and they all loved opening and closing the door. Very popular gift and well worth the money. Our grandson has just reached 2 years and will get a lot of use out of it, but it is suitable for a much younger child as it has a removable base plate so the child can just sit in the car and you can push them along using the inbuilt handle at the back.

best purchase
We bought this for our 14 month old son, origionally intended for christmas. We gave it to him early and haven't regretted it one bit. Yes it is a bit of a pain to build but deffinately well worth it. Our little boy loves anything with wheels but this car is now his favourite. He likes pushing it around the garden and stashing things in the wee storage bit on the back. I like the improvement of the handle on the back for parents. This is great toy something that'll grow with him. It's sturdy enough to be bashed against the house and not suffer, but light enough for him to easily push it anywhere he wants. He likes to ride around inside too, holds the wheel with one hand the other hanging out the side. Like any self respecting driver. The horn is a touch stiff for him at the moment but i'm sure he'll be able to use it when he gets older. I would recomend this car to anyone with a small person. He totally loves it. I am very happy with the appearence and best of all the safety of this toy. Little hands explore everything and there is nothing to make me wary at all.

Brilliant once built, but a bugger to put together!
This toy is now a definate favourite with my daughter, who now generally sits in it to watch TV and will soon, I'm sure, be demanding breakfast in it as well! It is solidly constructed and so durable I suspect there will still be loads of these things knocking around in about a 1000 years time. However the durability comes at a cost. The car is incredibly difficult to put together, and the instructions are so unclear as to be useless! Thankfully little tikes have put two instructional videos on the net (one youtube video wasnt long enough - just to give you an idea of how long this takes to construct!) which are much easier to follow. Nevertheless the construction of this car still cost blood, sweat and tears on my part. I'm also quite surprised that it didnt turn blue given the language directed at it! However that said, it was worth every agonising second when I see how happy my daughter is playing in it every day.

Good toy for toddlers
We bought this for our 18-month-old son as a Christmas present. I totally agree with all the other reviews on the page - it was really hard to put together in that the parts aren't made properly, i.e. holes were too small to fit metal rods through etc. I used the downloadable instructions on the little tikes website which were easier to follow especially the beginning sections where the small parts aren't given to scale, so things look bigger or smaller than they really are, and are hard to match. Link: [...] The man on the video makes it all look very easy - he just slides pieces together whereas we were using a hammer and all our strength! It took 2 hours to put it together on Christmas Eve, but once done, it is an excellent toy - very durable and well put-together, and our son loved his Christmas present (our 3-year-old daughter loves it too!)
