I am always on the lookout for a paranormal story that makes me want to smile with happiness while my heart is beating fast from the romance and perilous situations. And The Sweet Series did just that! While I did have a personal issue with an event that happened, I'm sure it won't bother a lot people the way it did me. But any who.....yes! This series was fabulous, and since there is so much I can't talk about, here's my favorite things about Sweet Reckoning: An epic love story - A bad boy with a tortured past, and a truly good girl whose past is filled with love. The two of them were polar opposites, yet when they were together it was an explosion of emotions. Since Anna and Kaidan have finally announced their love for one another, I just knew that this book was going to be fabulous! And I was so right! I swooned over their interaction and I found myself grinning like a fool while fanning my face towards Kaidan. My gosh, that boy can heat things up in the blink of an eye. I got every single tiny moment I wanted with them, and it left me a very happy girl! True friends - I was thrilled that the twins, Blake, Kope and V played important roles in this book, so I got to spend a lot of time with them! Each of them are true friends to either Kaidan, Annna, or even the both of them. They could always be counted on in times of need, and they always had each others backs. I loved that strong friendships played an important part in this series. It makes me miss these characters almost as much as Kaidan and Anna! Uncertainty and the unknown - The way the story proceeded, there were twists that unfolded that I never even saw coming. There were so many different parts at play, that it made certain elements of this book hard to guess, and I loved that! I loved feeling clueless at times right along with Anna! It made for a very eventful ride! A wrapped up ending - If you know me, I deal much better with a Happily Ever After than a Happily For Now ending. Not only was this ending wrapped up, but there was even an epilogue! I wanted to jump up and down, I was so over the moon ecstatic that this book contained such a solid ending! While I'd love to stop my review here, I can't. Because there was a scene in Sweet Reckoning that was too religious for me. I was perfectly fine that angels, demons and God existed in this series. That wasn't the problem. What was the problem was in regards to having ones faith tested. That situation left me feeling off, and I was not okay with how it was handled. YET, I still love this series. I loved the characters, the story-line and that ending. So I will definitely be reading more books by Wendy Higgins! Review: Best.Series.Go read it! - I was torn between two books to review today but I had to go with Sweet Reckoning. I have waited so long for the third book in the series that I wanted just as long to read it. I didn’t want it to end! But I am glad I did because as sad as it was to read the final book it was amazing. I kind of wish there was another to stretch the story further just a little. The series as a whole had me on the edge of my seat wanting Anna, Kai and friends to make it. The theme of the story centers around good vs evil and how good can win even though there are many temptations out there. We are introduced to Anna in Book 1 Sweet Evil, discovering her true identity and being introduced to another world entirely. Sweet Evil introduces the main characters and sets the story line for the rest of the series. Sweet Peril Book 2 has Anna and friends in motion to try and stop evil from creating sin within humanity. And of course book 3 Sweet Reckoning everything kicks into full gear and the action starts. I read this book in one sitting and was pulled in immediately. We see Anna where Higgins left her in Book 2. She now has to deal with getting ready for the rebellion. She is more aware of her power and intuition and has definitely grown from the beginning. What happens in the book totally took me by surprise, I cheered, and felt pretty much every emotion possible. The ending was priceless. I really couldn’t ask for a better ending to the series and this will be on the top of my book hangover list for sure. I love how in Book 3 Kaidian and Anna have more moments together, but I kept feeling like something was going to come out and catch them and ruin it all. The moments between the other characters are great too, emotions run high but it creates the right amount of drama needed for the scenes. Higgins has a way of creating magic in her books, her writing flows easily and sucks you in. The series has a religious undertone but its not preachy. It balances well between dark and light and like I mentioned before there is a fight between those who want to be free, to love and to make the world a better place. It definitely was not cheesy. There are more mature scenes in the book that were not in the previous books so it may not be ideal for the younger readers. Overall the series was fantastic. I will miss reading about the Anna, Kai, Blake, Ginger, Marna, Jay, Kope and Z. I wonder if Higgins would do books based on the other characters….that would be amazing. So go and check out this series since it is now complete. These are very easy reads for the long weekend. You are sure to fall in love!

Sweet Reckoning was one of my most highly awaited books of the year, and after Sweet Evil and Sweet Peril being so amazing, and Sweet Peril totally avoiding the middle book syndrome, Sweet Reckoning had some serious shoes to fill, but thankfully it did so without disappointing me at any point! As hard as it will be, because I feel like I want to talk about all the spoilers and awesome and swoony and shocking things, I will keep this review spoiler free, but of course expect spoilers for both Sweet Evil and Sweet Peril. After the evilness that was the final chapters of Sweet Evil, I loved how Sweet Reckoning started with Anna feeling like she had to be strong and she had the will and the motivation to fight. She's part angel and as sweet as they come, but she's strong and determined to fight for what's right! Anna has to be one of my favourite main characters ever. She has so much growth all through the trilogy, but she never loses herself, her changes have always been consequent with who she is. She's grown to accept herself as a Nephilim, with the good and the bad, she's learnt her limits and how to fight, how to hold her own against the Dukes and their minions... And if we're talking about character growth, I think the one that had the most character growth and change is our dear Kaidan. He started the series as a sexy bad boy that doesn't feel like he deserves to fight for something better, and we end up with an amazing Kaidan, that's still sexy and naughty but it's ready to fight for himself, for the other Neph and most of all, for Anna. I was quite dreading what might come in this book, and to an extent I was right, there was plenty of heartbreak in this book, but there was also a lot of happiness and moments of happy tears. There were also plenty of swoony and sexy moments but they never seemed out of place in the overall arch of the story. Every moment for Kai and Anna was one more reason to fight. I'm not sure how to talk about the plot for this one without accidentally spoiling something, so I'll just say that there is quite a lot of action, with Anna and the rest being part and coming together and having to part yet again. Preparing and plotting and eventually having to work in less than ideal conditions. The showdown was resolved in a way I wasn't exactly expecting and it had heartbreak that I would have never thought would happen. What absolutely cinched the 5 stars for this book for me, and what made me weep and ugly cry was the epilogue. After everything, this was just amazing and so fitting... *sigh* Sweet Reckoning had plenty of smiles, tears and swoons and it's the perfect ending for this fantastic trilogy. Read it. NOW.

OMG. Incredible. Love Kaidan Rowe. Fell like crying now it's all over. Can't wait for Sweet Temptation. That pretty much sums up how I feel right about now. I've had the life sucked out of me and some. I really wasn't ready for this to be over. What an epic ending for an epic series. In Sweet Reckoning, the underlying message is that love truly does conquer all. Kaidan and Anna are properly united as a couple and it's equally sweet and hot as hell. That group dinner in Patti's house! OMG, I was in convulsions at Kaidan's inability to keep it in his pants. It was laugh-out-loud funny. Kaidan and Anna have to act as enemies in order to keep the Duke of Lust off their scent. These scenes are brilliantly written - really spot on. Anna is brave in the face of danger and really grows up in this book; the last vestiges of childhood wiped away. We get to see a lot more of Ginger, Blake, and Marna in this book and I loved all of them. The ending is so bittersweet, heartbreaking as much as heartwarming. And how amazingly perfect was that prolog? Kaidan is finally able to come to terms with his past and properly lay his demons to rest. I feel totally bereft now, which is how I always feel when I have to say goodbye to a fab series. I honestly don't know how I can wait until September to read Kaidan's book. Love this author and this series. Can't wait to read more of her work. If you haven't checked out this series, then you need to do so - pronto!
