Fantastic - the industry standard.
This is pretty much the best-performing drive in its price range, and there isn't really any competition. It's been superseded by a newer version, but my PC can't make use of the faster transfer rates that one offers, so I grabbed this in the Prime Day sale. When I built my PC I couldn't afford this drive, so I've been using an older 3.5" SSD to store all the scenery, tracks, cars and aircraft for my flight and driving simulator software. Turns out I have a lot of scenery, tracks, cars and aircraft, and I pretty-much filled this 2TB drive! On the plus side, that freed up 2TB of space on my SSD. Installation is a doddle, but make sure you haven't lost the fixing screw that came with your motherboard. The drive doesn't come with a spare. The drive was detected immediately (once I'd found the Drive Manager function in W10). It needed to be formatted, which is normal, and then it behaved exactly as it should - like a really fast hard drive. To be totally honest, the software I'm using can't really make use of the high speed offered by an M.2 drive. The real advantage for me is being able to remove a SATA drive and transfer the contents of my old HDD over to the SSD. Less stuff inside the case impeding airflow, fewer cables too. Speaking of airflow, this drive does run quite hot. I considered a cooler heatsink, but apparently it's perfectly normal and a heatsink can actually make it worse. It's been used every day for a couple of months without complaint, so I'll just leave it alone! I have a 500GB 970 EVO (not the Plus version) that's been the main operating system drive in my PC for a couple of years, and it's been absolutely 100% rock solid reliable. The SSD in the machine is a 2TB 860, and that transferred over from an older PC! I trust Samsung drives and I don't buy anything else.

This drive is rEVOlutionary
This drive really is revolutionary if you're coming from running your OS on a HDD. The move from HDD > SSD is a game changer, and this drive being connected directly to a PCIe slot in your motherboard allows it to reach speeds far superior to that for a standard SATA SSD, which are generally capped around 550MB/s. 📈 My results from both Samsung Magician software and CrystalDiskMark speak for themselves, my sequential writes and reeds are all over 2000MB/s, which is so blazing fast especially when transferring from one SSD to another, which is something I do often - a 2GB file I've noticed takes a couple seconds, anything less than 2GB is so quick I don't even see the little pop-up that shows you the transfer progress and ETA. 🌡️ 40-60C is where you can realistically expect this drive to be hovering around, the reason my one is on the higher side is because my one is directly underneath my graphics card, a RTX 2080, which is a card that generally runs a little hotter than other cards. The drive never exceeds 70C, even while gaming. 👨🏽🔧 Installing this drive was a breeze, and migrating the OS from my previous drive an 850 EVO SATA SSD to this was unimaginably easy - the software makes it incredibly easy to select your source and destination during the migration process and transfer everything over. All you need to do is restart, change your boot drive, and you're good to go. 🥇 Reliability is where this drive shines, I've been using this drive nearly everyday in my PC for over a year and so far the diagnostics scan in Samsung Magician is reporting no abnormalities and that the drive is in good health. I double checked this with another software called CrystalDiskInfo which is reporting back 100% integrity. All in all, this is one of the best purchases I have made for my PC. I strongly recommend sticking with Samsung when it comes to SSD's for your PC, I've now also got a 8TB QVO and a 1TB 860 EVO that all work extremely well together, super fast transfer speeds and zero wait time - try it for yourself, you won't regret it!

Awesome drive
2Tb 970 evo plus. Very quick drive. As with all nvme drives very easy to install once you find the right spacer and screw from the dozens supplied with the motherboard. Definite something you can do yourself. Performance is fantastic with speeds surprisingly close to advertised. My motherboard has heat sinks so I can not comment on bare thermals. Seller is quick and efficient sending out the drive. One note, if you already have Samsung magician installed then uninstall it and install the latest version as earlier versions do not prompt you to upgrade if pre 7 but unless on version 7 or later it won't properly display information for or allow access to settings for the drive. Caused a minor panic for a bit that one. Rapid, a performance option for non nvme Samsung drives will not be available for this drive as its so fast that this option is irrelevant. When direct memory access for gpus under windows 11 becomes available this drive will really shine. It is one of the fastest you can get for non pcie 4 motherboards (only the very latest chipset motherboards have pcie 4 at the time of this review).

good drive and fast pcie 3
This is a grate choice and will run in any computer as a fast drive. This drive uses the version 3 m.2 standard and will work with version 1, 2, 3, and 4, It is not as fast as a v4 card in a v4 slot but it is faster than a v4 card in a v3 slot when it is placed in a v3 slot. It is an excellent and very fast drive. it can run data at 100 % on a v3 slot and even go above the 100% rated speed of a v3 m.2 slot because it has been fully optimised for that standard. It is a goods fast drive verry fast in v3 slot. only beaten in v4 slot m.2 with a very high end fast m.2 ssd in an m.2 v4 slot. In conclusion this is a grate choice and will run in any computer as a fast drive.

nice speeds
It works pretty well when it speeds and is great for gaming however make sure it's in the right end 2 slot from my motherboard I put one in I was only getting half speeds. So I point into a different M2 slot on my motherboard and I was getting full speeds just always check what your motherboard manufacturer.

So much better than Starfield, which required this!
So, like the sucker I am, I bought this beauty to play Starfield without 68 million year loading screens on PC. Starfield is a bit rubbish. However, this Samsung SSD is very good. After I'd circumvented the weird way you have to install it on my Motherboard (TUF Z370 Plus - Gaming) which requires plugging it into the NvMe M.2 port, then lowering it onto a support bracket, not accessible by human hands. (I used wooden toothpicks). It's very good though. Get as many as you can fit in. When you copy something to it (Baldurs Gate 3 and all updates) it is amazingly fast and, my rig is 6 years old, decades in gaming. When I use the original 7,200RPM drives it's like using my old 486 Sx25. In short: Good. Dead Good.

Amazing
Well, given that its a Samsung product it should be obvious why its 5 stars, however heres a breakdown: Amazing, TINY little piece of hardware. Performance: Anything that boots up from it loads in seconds (or minutes if you load bigger games such as No Mans Sky, Assetto Corsa Competizione etc) fitted nicely onto my motherboard, and was compatible. Compatability: You may need to look at a youtube video and the instructions just to get your PC to "see" the drive but this isnt exhaustive Durability: Be careful with it when handling as its got the look of it being able to potentially snap if handled roughly
