Amazingly great stereo scopes for the price point.
This is my 3rd Amascope stereo microscope. I use mine every day. I've also used Nikons that cost 10x the price and have wider field of view and barely noticeable higher optical quality, but for the price you can not beat the Amascopes. Do note that you can see and understand all the possible combinations of bodies, lenses, and illumination options on the Amascope website and then come back and order the closest thing to what you need on Amazon. Also note that I do not think that any microscope-specific camera is worth it. They are expensive and do not give as good results as just carefully holding a cellphone camera up to the eyepiece. You can also buy or 3D-print a jig to hold the cellphone. I have one of these jigs, but I never use mine because it is not worth the extra hassle. The attached photo was taken this way at about 50% zoom on the microscope.

Manufacturer not identified on Microscope as in the photo online. Also Noisy zoom mechanism
The microscope has no Amscope label or identifying manufacturer on it.(the Amazon warehouse picture showed an Amscope label on the front of the microscope head... the one I received does not. The included LED ring illuminator. (which can also be purchased separately) did have an Amscope label. I can't tell whether I have really received an off brand Microscope and Amscope illuminator. The Zoom mechanism when moved makes a lot more noise than the (Labelled) Amscope I have at work with the same zoom. The optics appear a hazy compared to the one at work. Other than that, the microscope works as expected -similar to the (labelled) Amscope I have at work. At $255 + tax through Amazon Warehouse it seemed a really good deal but the purchase was not as good as I initially had thought but still useful.

Magnifies well, but no instructions on how to use.
The binoc scope works well once you learn how to use it. It is a bit difficult to arrange the eyepieces so you see one image. Focusing is a bit tricky. Depth of field is good. I am not disappointed for the money that was spent. A lab quality one would cost much more.

Got about 4 years out of it
It's been a good scope. I got about 4 years out of it and now the bearings are falling out of the vertical adjustment. At first didn't know where these steel balls were coming from. Now its about ready to fall off the stand and I see more dropping out of there. The mechanical parts should really fall apart like this so a bit disappointed I need to buy another one.

Great scope!!
Impressive piece of equipment. Smooth operation. Nice wide field eyepieces with high eye point for those wearing glasses. The 0.5 aux lense is perfect to give you wider field of view and higher working distance for SMT work. And the LED ring light is incredibly bright. I have spent over a thousand dollars in the past just for a fiber optic ring light and this LED seems superior since the bulbs should last much longer than the bulbs used in the old FO illuminations. Ring lights are nice because you always get great illumination with no fuss or adjustments. You can go right to soldering.

can't even assemble
I've bought these before and while they were fidgety to assemble, they worked well and I liked the ring light. Now we've bought another one and the cover over the lenses, doesn't come off. It may be glued on, since we found glue drops on the lenses themselves. Now we'll have to return it, but a co-worker has already thrown out the packaging. A mess ...

For the price this is an amazing stereo microscope
For the price this is an amazing stereo microscope. I grew up using a Zeiss stereo microscope that my Dad owned; and now that I want one for myself I can't afford the 10K price tag. However, this AmScope gives me everything I want. I still can't believe it's so cheap. My family and I have had tons of fun looking at flowers and insects. Totally amazing - and the 3D effect of the stereo optics makes all the difference in the world. Thank you!

Did my homework on these. Selecting a zoom function with LED RING lighting was the way to go! Excellent for electronics PCB inspecting. Plenty of space for soldering iron although i would suggest a fan to blow fumes away from scope lens. Arrived fast! Good quality.

I've been using this scope for SMD soldering and find it to be perfect for the job. It takes a little while to get used to a stereo microscope but once you get used to it, using it for soldering is really natural. Minimum magnification (3.5x) with the included barlow lens is just about right for this usage and gives loads of room for the soldering iron. (7-8") The light is nice and bright, giving a nice clean white light. AmScope's support were great when I thought I had a problem with the scope. (Turns out that I had the focusing rack on upside down, meaning the head was too close to the table.)

I like the fact that it has a zoom and not a rotate-able head. I find the light source/ring a bit cheap feeling and would have liked something a bit more solid feeling. Over all a decent instrument for the price
