Firestik stud
Summary: Quality component, well made, easy to install I used this in conjunction with the K40 K4018FME 18' Super Mini-8 CB Antenna Cable with Removable FME Connector Antenna cable and the Firestik SS-3H Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Antenna Spring, both from Amazon (see my other reviews). This unit is well made, installed very easy, and has performed well in my CB setup. Not much more to say. As I noted in the cable review, make sure to scratch the paint off the underside of the antenna mount that this stud bolts to in order for the CB system to work properly and avoid sky-high SWR readings. Quality of Materials: * No issues with quality Quality of Fabrication: * No burrs, rough edges, or imperfections on the stud. Ease of Installation: * Just follow directions. Make sure the nylon bushing goes on top of the mount, the stud base from the bottom through the nylon bushing, then the flat washer on top, then the split washer.. Suitability for Purpose: * Once I grounded the mount properly, my CB system using this mount has worked perfectly. Packaging/Delivery: * As usual, Prime delivers fast and delivers well. Package was brand new.

Check your CB antenna bracket hole size.
Good quality, but a bit of advice is to make sure the hole in whatever mounting bracket you have is the same diameter of the threaded stock that sticks up through it. If the hole is larger, when you tighten the whole thing down, the insides of the lower portion will pull up and expose and ruin the nylon sheath inside (and it won't tighten all the way). A solution is to put a metal washer (with the exact same diameter) over the lower threaded stock before assembling. This prevents the threaded stock from coming up and allows you to be able to really tighten the whole assembly. I ruined one and had to order another.

Solid Product!
I needed to build a small base antenna for my 10 meter radio. I didn't want to use a large antenna like an A99 so I got a K40-BCMax and put it on a small mast. I used a trucker mount and this K-4A stud mount to finish the job. I added one radial wire to the mount and this sucker really gets out! I'm talking to guys 25-30 miles out on ground wave. I wish we had better conditions to test the DX capability but still wanting.

Best product ever
If you are looking for an antenna stud that doesn’t twist inside when you try to tighten it up this is the product for you. That is what I was looking for and I definitely found it with this product

Does what I needed it to do.
Some items are hard to write reviews for since I don't know what would make them "great". This is one of those. Firestik is a name that you can't really go wrong with. Packaging was decent, with some basic directions on the back. All the parts were there, and it is simple to install. Materials seem solid and durable. Since I have had Firestik products in the past, I know this will last a good, long time. All in all, a product that seems to be exactly what I expected that will give me desired performance for a long time.

Works great!
I've got this on my 1997 Landcruiser with a 2' Firestick and a HD spring with a Firestick quick disconnect. Everything performs very well and I've got a nice low level on the SW meter. After 6 months, the finish is still nice and clean, no rust or pitting. Great mount.

Buy this Stud Mount
I purchased this item and am very pleased with it. I originally purchased the Wilson Heavy Duty Stainless Stud Mount for $13.00. Unfortunately, the Wilson had a nylon thread under the PL-259 coaxial connector and I over tightened and stripped out the threads and it allowed the pin to travel too far up the post and it caused a short in the antenna. My SWR readings were off the charts. I ordered the FireStik K-4A which is a much better design and no nylon threads. I hooked up the antenna, tuned it and it now has SWR readings of 1.1 on Channel one and 1.2 on Channel 40. I should have bought the FireStik Stud Mount originally. Hope this helps you save a $13.00 mistake. Live, Learn and SHARE!!!

Needed Part.
I originally didn't order this with my CB install, It is absolutely required if you're running a Firestik Antenna. I ended up having to overnight it, arrived in time, install was easy, and it does it's job. Be sure to pay attention to where the nylon washer goes as that prevents a ground that you don't want.
