This is a pretty good "base" product for making apple hooch [cider]
This is a pretty good "base" product for making apple hooch [cider]. Brew Demon even recommends adding the Oregon fruits. Personally; I add my favorite Dutch apple tart filling. I use dextrose instead of table sugar and use S-04 yeast instead of what is provided. Great Stuff!!! ABV about 8%. Back again: As I said before this is a really great base product, I tried something very simple and it turned out awesome. Very simple: this can of concentrate, one pound of dark brown sugar, and a culture made from EC 1118. Go ahead and make three gallons at 70 deg. After eight days I had a very tasty cider at 6.6 ABV still. Then two weeks after bottling and primed I had a very fizzy great tasting hooch at just at 8 ABV....Great Stuff!!!

Great gift!
Purchased as a follow up refill gift! Brother in law is medically gluten free and loves making his own ciders now that he cannot have wheat! Great gift!

Good replacement for Mr Beer kits
Not too sweet but plenty tasty and crispy. Easy replacement for Mr Beer sized kids.

It brews!! But you can try different yeast.
This is cheaper than other 2 gallon refills I tried but still preforms well. As you see I do have it fermenting with the included yeast packet. I kept it in my 2 gallon plastic fermenter for 1 week then transferred it to a 1 gallon glass wine jug with an airlock and a 2 litre glass swing top and a one litre plastic bottle. It's been going for 15 days and still fermenting so the next batch of Brew Demon I do I'll use Safale S-04 and see how it goes.

Expensive, just read a book then use apple juice and concentrate (no preservatives)
Good stuff just too pricy. Juice from concentrate with no preservatives(ascorbic acid is ok) use a recipe online or a hydrometer ($10) to get the sugar right, use ale yeast (us-05, Nottingham ale are good)(lalvin 1118 wine yeast is super dry and a little colder brew temp, 55 deg makes a delicious dry really strong apple flavored cider) 60-72 degrees 68 i deal. And you'll get good stuff inside 2-3 weeks depending on sweetness wanted and percent alcohol desired. High alcohol 6.5+ ( more sugar) = longer age time. Regular store bought juice 4-5 present alch with no sugar needed, ready to drink in a week to two. Cool it down in the refrigerator to clarify and don't screw the caps on tight unless you want liquid EVERYWHERE. Once you get them in the fridge they won' continue to build co2 pressure as fast.

clean apple flavor
The cider has a crisp clean apple flavor similar to Angry Orchard. I used my Mr Beer brewer for primary fermentation. Transferred to a secondary fermentor for 3 weeks to improve clarity and completely ferment any sugars.I would be a repeat customer.
