I have used Crisco Products for years. The Crisco All Vegetable Shortening 6-Pound can is an economy size. Crisco shortening is very light. It does like leave a greasy taste. Helps make delicious fried food and helps to leave baked food light and fluffy. You cannot go wrong using Crisco All Vwgwtable Shortening.

Living in the Alaskan Bush, we use Crisco for just about everything. It's fairly shelf stable and easier to ship around than oil. I use it in a lot of recipes as a replacement for softened butter. Akutak (aka Eskimo Ice Cream) 1 cup solid vegetable shortening 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup water, berry juice, or 2 cups loose snow (optional) 4 cups fresh berries, (blueberries, cloudberries, cranberries, salmon berries, or blackberries)

CRISCO IS GREAT!
CRISCO IS GREAT! My wife can't bake pies without it. My dear departed grandmother used it to pop popcorn. It's a great shortening regardless of all the bad publicity the saturated fats are getting! QB

good for pie crusts
great stuff to make pie crusts with ...but besides that - i guess you could use it for deep frying foods...but use only occasionally - for it may not be too good for you. ...for neither is any oil, except coconut oil

Recommend using a dedicated cloth vs paper towels
Works well for 'seasoning' cast iron. Recommend using a dedicated cloth vs paper towels. Shipped on time. No issues with packaging. Tub is full to the lid Easy to spread/coat. Remains solid at room temperatures unlike butter or coconut which can liquefy

Good value
Over all things were ok except one can was damaged with the seal broken under the lid. These were for long time storage but the damaged one had to be used now.
