Magnepull XP1000-3

I am an independent contractor and I wall fish communication wires. I lost my Magnet pull in the wall and had to get a new one. This replacement was the correct and identical one I had lost in a wall. Magnetic power is the same strength as the one I lost that came with the set. I highly recommend you get this one here, it’s the same as what comes with the set and not a knock off, it’s the real deal. Hopefully I don’t lose this one but if I do I’ll be ordering again from here.

Love this tool. Have used it for all kinds of situations where a magnet is needed. Like the flexible handle. Makes locating wall studs easy. Powerful magnet. If there is metal anywhere nearby it will stick.

This the best tool for wall fishing. Had this for 10 years and the chain broke and was lost in an insulated wall. This is the replacement.

Serves a useful purpose, for a few specific tasks. However it has as many problems as benefits. This component alone is not much use without the magnetic retriever/roller component. If you are just starting out, it is probably worth spending more and getting the full kit, if only to have the molded case. You won't save much trying to buy the parts individually. The magnets are extremely powerful, and if you bought the leader/bullet and the retriever/roller separately they could be difficult to store without hurting your other tools or damaging themselves. Otherwise, the system works well for its intended purpose, but be aware that because it is so powerful, the leader will get caught up easily on things that you didn't intend. If your'e trying to pull through an enclosed space that has metal studs, ductwork, or even joist hangers, you need to control the pull and direction very carefully or it will get hung up. I found it took many tries to get it though a space unimpeded. The included chain is too short to be of much use, I'd recommend connecting your own fish tape, rods, or a wire pull string/rope instead. The leader on its own can be useful even without the magnet. I've been able to drop it through/across a space and then pick up from the other side with a fiberglass rod with a magnetic tip to catch onto the leader, and pull through the rest of the way. This works in cases where you're not going across a flat surface (wall/ceiling with horizontal blocking) where the roller couldn't pass across smoothly.

I lost the original bit behind the walls and later was able to retrieve it..Bought this unit that available (good that Amazon is selling). No issues...

Strong, fool proof nail finder. Cons: leaves marks on painted walls when you swing it carefully to locate the stud nails.

This magnet served as a replacement for my Magnepull System after the original magnet got lost somewhere inside the drywall... It was pretty much a 1 to 1 replacement except this one came with a magnet cap to prevent it from shattering if accidentally smashed against something metal.
