Good Quality
Good quality paint. Needed a good stir so had been lying somewhere for a long tome. Very easy to apply and covered well. Water based so easy to clean the brush afterwards. Very dark shade of grey which was ideal for me as it matched the door adjacent to where I was painting.

FANTASTIC PAINT! (Don't forget to stir!!!)
So I love Rustins paint products: it's a great range of painting products, with a great big selection, at pretty great prices 🙂I've noticed a few reviews mentioning it's thin and they needed to do several coats - this is clearly as they haven't stirred the paint properly prior to using it (or even just vigorously shaken the tin before opening, which is what I usually do with the smaller tins!)I guarantee, once you have properly stirred the paint (or shaken, whatever works for you..) you will have the perfect paint product ready for use - it's awesome. It also goes a long way: I've just quickly painted an old bare wooden yard gate (approx 6ft tall) plus the frame on both sides, and there is still at least half of the litre-sized tin left. Thoroughly recommend 💯❤️

Good paint but quite thin
The red looks very brown when you open it, but it does go on red. Needed a thorough stir as it had clearly been sat around for a long time. Goes on well though, really nice satin finish. Just take care with drips as it is quite a thin paint.

stir well, also stir occasionally whilst using
i dont normally do reviews but OMG.... i opened this paint after vigorous shaking for 5 mins, and i am not gonna lie it looked like oily water. (n way was i going to attempt to paint with this dishwater )BUT then i stirred it , all the paint had settled at the bottom of the tin so i continued to stir for 4/5 mins,It was then i thought now it looks like paint i applied to my wood panelling and OMG what a dream to paint with this product. one coat and it was done , dry in less than one hour. would i use again absolutely . also it was odourless, and the satin sheen is plus the colour is exactly the finish i wanted .

Brilliant product
Why did you choose this product over others?:Didn't need primer or undercoat. Excellent product. I had a large mirror frame was varnished medium brown and had a ridged surface. Did 3 coats. Two would have been OK though. Also I have a cream telephone table in the hall. Diffuser oil had spilt on surface. Just sanded it down. Again 2 coats was fine , but did .3 This product is amazing.

Very thin, doesn’t cover in one coat. But great finish with several coats once dry
It’s water based so no chemical smell and brushes wash off with water. As long as you wash them quickly as it dries very fast. That it does dry fast is a good point too, but also not good.As it’s very thin and runs so any runs dry fast too.But it’s so thin it doesn’t cover in one coat, or not even two or three!!I had to do three coats on my bistro set and four in places!! And I’m not finished yet as having to do so many coats I have run out!So I’ve had to order another tin to finish off the legs of the table!Yet I painted a similar bistro set with oil based metal paint in one coat using only 3/4 of a tin!!Once done and dry it’s very hard wearing, doesn’t chip and it does looks good. But while I appreciate this and that it doesn’t smell. It took me hours to do three or four coats. Hours I can’t get back. And I got covered in it as it’s so thin it drips everywhere including on my hands and splashed on my clothes. And unless you wash it off straight away it dries hard and is difficult to remove. Thankfully after a few minutes I changed into old clothes. So while the eventual finish is very good. Very hard wearing and looks great.Another time I’d probably buy an oil based thicker paint.I don’t have the time or patience to do up to 4 coats on a pice of garden furniture or whatever.

Colour
It's called "red" but it's really more brown than red. I have painted my metal garden bistro set with it but will have to repaint as not the colour I wanted. Paint goes on well and needed to do 2 coats too.
