Product Description

The Kidde Hardwired Smoke Detector Alarm with Light and Battery
Backup, Battery Included, Interconnectable, model i12080A, is an
ionization smoke alarm designed to help protect you and your
family from the dangers of smoke and fire. Many states require
newly constructed houses and recently renovated homes to have
hardwired smoke alarms with a battery backup to help protect
residents. Easy to install on the ceiling in your bedroom, the
hallway, or in any room in your home, this smoke detector has a
large ing base, quick-connect wiring harness, and front
battery pull-tab so you can activate the alarm without removing
it from its base. A 9V backup battery is included to help give
your family protection even during a power failure. Plus, the
smoke detector has an escape light that illuminates during an
alarm event to help you see your way to safety.
Ionization sensing alarms, including the Kidde hardwired smoke
detector with escape light, may detect invisible fire particles
(associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms.
We recommend that you install both ionization and photoelectric
alarms in your home to provide maximum fire detection. This smoke
alarm's Smart Hush™ feature allows you to silence nuisance
alarms, while an indicator LED and test feature let you easily
confirm that the alarm is working. This wire-in smoke detector
can also be interconnected with up to 24 other Kidde devices,
including smoke alarms, CO detectors, and heat alarms, so that
when one alarm goes off, they all go off to alert you to a
potential emergency.
The Kidde hardwired smoke detector with light and battery backup
meets the requirements of UL217, NFPA72, (chapter 11), The State
of California Fire Marshal, NFPA 101 (One- and two-family
dwellings) Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Housing and Urban
Development (HUD). It also includes a 10-year manufacture's
limited warranty.

The AC-powered, hardwired Kidde i12080 ionization smoke alarm is
designed to protect you and your family from the dangers of smoke
and fire. This smoke alarm's trademarked hush feature allows you
to silence nuisance alarms, while an indicator LED and test
feature let you easily confirm that the alarm is working. This
wire-in smoke detector also has a battery-backup feature (with
included 9-volt battery) as well as a safety light that helps
illuminate your path to safety.
The Kidde i12080 is equipped with an integrated safety light.
Features
--------
The Kidde i12080 smoke alarm includes a safety light feature that
provides 15 minutes of light when the alarm is sounding. It
offers a tamper-resistant feature to deter vandalism or theft and
a smart interconnect system that connects with up to 24 Kidde
devices--including other smoke alarms plus carbon monoxide and
heat alarms. The battery-backup feature (9-volt battery included)
provides protection even during power outages, when many CO
incidences occur. It has a large ing base that helps protect
surface paint from dirt and covers imperfections, and its
pre-stripped wiring harness has an easy-off cap and tinned
strands to increase conductivity.
By pressing the hush button, you can easily and safely silence
nuisance alarms caused by non-emergency situations, such as
overcooked dinners. This feature desensitizes the alarm for
approximately seven minutes. During this time, the alarm chirps
every 30 to 40 seconds. If the smoke is too dense, the hush
feature is overridden and the alarm still sounds, and the alarm
automatically resets at the end of the seven minutes. This
convenient safety measure eliminates the temptation to remove the
alarm's battery, which creates an unsafe situation.
The Kidde i12080 smoke alarm uses ionization sensing technology,
which generally detects invisible fire particles (associated with
flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric
sensing alarms may detect visible particles (associated with
smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Kidde recommends
that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed
to insure maximum detection.

From the Manufacturer
---------------------
There are only minutes to escape a house fire. The sooner you
hear the smoke alarm, the sooner you can get out safely. Kidde
interconnected Ionization smoke alarms provide early warning
against fire by linking together the smoke alarms in your home,
dramatically increasing your ability to hear an alarm anywhere,
regardless of where the fire starts. This unit is a 120V AC
powered ionization smoke alarm with a safety light and 9V battery
back up. This premium smoke alarm has the ability to function as
a stand alone unit or in an interconnected system. It includes
Hush feature, a test button and a quick-connect power harness.
Install UL listed smoke alarms on every floor of your home, in
hallways, inside bedrooms and outside of ing areas. Replace
smoke alarms every 10 years. Ionization sensing alarms may detect
invisible fire particles associated with fast flaming fires
sooner than Photoelectric alarms. Studies show both types will
effectively detect either type of fire. For optimal protection,
install both smoke alarm technologies in your home.
