I bought this Vitamix blender blade to replace the original. The bearing locked up and while investigating whether or not the blender could be repaired, I could see it was EASILY repairable. Well designed for repair. It took no time at all to figure out how to unscrew the bottom nut to remove the blade assembly. A little research on the web and on Amazon, I found a good replacement. The Vitamix was $400 and instead of throwing it away, I fixed it for less than $20. It's as good as new.I have to commend the design engineers are Vitamix for their very well designed product. It is so easy to disassemble for cleaning as well as repair.

Lasted about 3 months before the rust started. Some parts inside this assembly are not stainless steel because they rusted and corroded the gasket that keeps liquids inside the container. The result is that a few drops of your blended beverage seep thru the bottom of the container, join with rust, and then fall into the motor on the body of the blender. All of this happens while blending. A small amount of smoke occurs (from the motor) and the motor makes a "not happy" noise - basically doesn't sound like it should. I blended warm beverages for 10-15 seconds once a day. I washed the whole thing every time. Still, the residue from the rusted internal parts caused issues. Pics are before and after scrubbing the area around the blade to (partially) remove the surface rust.

These blades are not nearly as sharp as the original blades but work well enough.

So far so good. I thought I was going to have to replace my vitamix due to the horrific additional noise while running. A quick internet search helped me determine it was probably just this piece. So far it has been working flawlessly.

Bearings seem to spin nicely. Once installed and running, it vibrates a lot. When you slow it down and look at it spinning you can tell something is out of balance. Probably the blade. Still useable but it's not right. Buyer beware.

We love our Vitamix and have used it for decades. But my wife has a heavy-hand on smoothies, as in she literally overflows the carafe almost every time. After years of this intense daily strain on the entire assembly, the mating-gears between the motor housing and the pitcher began to wear and strip. Eventually we couldn't even use the machine due to the horrific grinding noises !!! Decided to buy a new blender and donate this one, then we saw the prices LOL - so I figured THIS replacement set was worth trying. So far, we are very pleased. Everything went together easily and fit great. Now we have a nice tight solid gear-mesh between the motor and pitcher, with no leaks and no more grinding at all. This replacement part is definitely recommended.
