Morphy Richards Classic Soup Maker, 1.6L, Multi-Settings, LED Displayed Panel, Motorised Blade, Stainless Steel, 1000W, 48822

I was recommended this soup maker by several people who said it would be a good option for my kitchen. I wasn't convinced, as surely I could make soup without the help of another gadget. However they were absolutely right and this has been one of the best purchases I've made. Setup really requires no thought at all. It comes with a large jug, a lid with the blade attached, and a power cable. There are two buttons on the lid, one to change the mode, and the other to start. I've made all kinds of soups in it using both the smooth and chunky settings. I also really like that there's a blend option so if I change my mind about a chunky soup, I can blend it without having to heat it again. This has also enabled me to get rid of my existing blender as I can use the soup maker in place of it. The jug has a large capacity and I get multiple very generous portions out of it with minimal effort at all. I think it's encouraged me to be more creative with the soups I make as I am having to think less about cooking and so the small investment of time feels worth it when trying something new. It is also easy to clean, though do be aware of the port for the cable on the bottom edge of the jug. I've had this soup maker for around a year and a half now and it works as well as it did when I bought it. It's especially good quality given the price, and I get excellent use out of it in winter.

Cracking bit of kit and makes great soup!! Easy to use and clean but be careful with the blending blade and don't submerse the blending unit in water. Makes soup ready to eat in 20 minutes.

Quality item , good value. Bought 28/12/25. Makes easy to make soups , taste good and quickly and quietly cools the soup. Has a blend and timer options. I did by a separate soup making book as it does not have one. Good item , recommend it for sure.

Bought as a present for my wife who fell-in-love with a friends soup maker. Works superbly and the results are excellent. A couple of comments: 1. There are very few soup recipes included with the soup maker why? Come on Morphy Richards, adding a recipe booklet would add little to the cost but a great deal to the product. Instead we have to resort to the internet. 2. In many, many cases the few recipes that are included instruct you to fry onions in a pan, or cook this, or roast that. If you have to get a pan out to start the soup making off, it does detract from the one-for-all gadget. If one does have to fry onions or red peppers etc, why not have the stainless steel kettle part so you can place this directly on your cooker and then fry or cook the required ingredients in the soupmaker. At least this would reduce the washing-up. In summary, a great gadget for the easy, simple soups that don't need ingredients to be pre-cooked and the ones that we have tried have been great, creamy, smooth and delicious. Easy to clean - but I would recommend tracking-down the easy-to-prepare soup recipes that don't need additional preparation in other pans. Two additional comments having used for some time. The lid, which has the mixer and motor in it, has to be removed for some recipes whilst you add ingredients. The lid is very awkward to lay down, The rounded handle means that you cannot stand it upside down, and as it has sharp blades, you really need to endure that it rests somewhere where the blades cannot scratch anything. It would enhance the design, if there were a clip on the side of the main jug where you could 'hang' the top whilst you add later ingredients. You also need to be careful when you lift the 'lid' motor section off after it had been through its heating cycle as condensation is formed inside and this easily runs off into the electrical socket - especially if you lift it off with the 'lid' section inclined towards this. Easily done.

I got this as it was recommended by a friend. I was surprised at how big it was at first. I made my first ever homemade soup, butternut squash, sweet potato and carrot and set it for puréed soup. After adding all the ingredients I turned it on and it started heating up like a kettle and it kept going, steam coming out from the lid like a boiling kettle, this is just normal so you need to make sure the area is ventilated and away from sockets or anything not heat resistant, then the blender part kicked in for a couple of seconds, it boiled some more then blended again for a minute or two and voilà soup was ready. It is so easy to use, just dice up your veg before adding with stock and switch it on, twenty minutes later you have a lovely streaming hot batch of soup. The cleaning part was just as easy as the cooking part, a quick wash out, not suitable for the dishwasher and it's done. The instruction book has ten recipes at the back to help get you started if you need some inspiration. I would definitely recommend this item but remember it sounds like a boiling kettle, with steam coming out, until the blender part kicks in, then it gets a bit noisy but not overly loud. I bought this after a relative recommended it without checking any reviews. It arrived and I read the instructions, all common sense and easy. Made my first soup no problem, next day made another soup, I thought the product was going to take off, it went into overdrive with the boiling, eventually did a brief blend then took off again with another boiling session, then silence and it showed resting mode on the screen and 8 minutes from completion the screen went blank. I turned it off uncoupled etc and tried again, nothing totally dead, it did briefly light up but then died a death. I contacted Amazon and they were really helpful, gave me number for Morphy Richards Customer Service who listened, then sent me an email, and I had to go through exactly what the low star reviewers (I checked after the fact) had happen. I didn't want a replacement of this and any other kettle type soupmaker, totally lost confidence with this style, so asked Amazon for a refund which they did and I purchased a more expensive, completely different style, but a more fit for the job, soupmaker. I did, after I had returned the product, get another email from Morphy Richards asking for a video of the machine of what the issue is so they can help me. I am struggling to understand how a video of a dead machine would help them or me.

Unfortunately it arrived complete with an English power cord even though I ordered it on Amazon AUSTRALIA. Luckily my slow cooker power cord fitted it. It makes great soup so I’m happy with that.

this product was purchased, unknowingly it was coming from England. Needless to say, when it arrived it had British electrical connection that does not work in Australia. I then had to purchase an adaptor for the product to work. this should all be advertised on the product information prior to purchasing
