Fits FlexVolt dcs575
Works great on dcs575 FlexVolt saw. The adapter has an opening for the dust chute so that the chute will still work with out a dust collection vacuum hose fitted on. When I use the hose I like to tape over the chute opening if I'm not using a powerful vac and the dust collection works even better. It would be nice if there were a cover that could be slid open and closed. I mostly use a cordless dewalt vac and that's when I use tape over the opening. Fits on to the saw easily although the drawing in the instructions shows a locating tab and the illustration isn't accurate but it's easy to figure out. Look at the saw port and look at the inside of the plastic parts that fit onto the saw and it explains it's self. There are 2 plastic screws (ph2) that clamp the 2 parts of the adapter together. One of the installation screws is only accessible from the battery port side and is better accessible with an angle drive or a ¼" bit-ratchet but I was able to install mine with a normal screwdriver handle well enough by driving with the bit at an angle in the screw recess and additional pressure into the screw recess. The part is abs plastic and seems durable enough but could be cold welded with acetone if it ever breaks. It comes with an additional lower guard lever which must be installed for the lower guard to work with the adapter as the adapter protrudes enough on the side that it is in the path of the stock guard lever. The guard lever that comes with he adapter looks just like the stock one except has a bend to angle the tab out away from the adapter. and is easy to change out with a t-25 or with a slotted bit screwdriver. The guard levers are stamped steel but are hardened and are very tough. I tried to alter the angle of the one that came with the adapter slightly with pliers but was un-successfull. It could possibly be done with a vise but the angle is fine as is. I hope this is helpful.

Perfect fit for my DCS570B Dewalt 20V 7.25" Battery Powered Circular Saw.
LONG STORY SHORT: When looking for a dust collection adapter for my "DEWALT 20V MAX 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw with Brake, Tool Only, Cordless (DCS570B)" it was really difficult to figure out IF there was even adapter for it. THIS ADAPTER FITS even if it's not listed as one of the saw options in the description. Works great! PROS: -Fits perfectly on my DCS570B circular saw. No issues, gaps, jerry rigging....it was made for this saw as well, it's just not listed as one of them. -Ribbing/Ridges on the back of the port connect great with my Cen-Tec adapter system (as shown in photo). Holds them on tight. -Side port allows for dust to shoot downward instead of backward...if not using dust collection. Making the saw still function as originally designed. CONS: -Figuring out what (IF ANY) dust collection adapter would work with my DeWALT circular saw was a chore. It's not listed as one of the "options" in this description, nor is Dewalt's website helpful in the matter. I had to make an educated guess based on information I'd seen...and it worked out. -I wish there was a little sliding door on the side vent, so you could close it, when you're connected to a dust collection system. Not that it really seems to make a big difference, but it's hard to tell, and would be a nice option. However...any moving parts and pieces are liable to break...which is probably why they didn't bother. CONCLUSION: Buy. Fits perfectly on my DeWALT cordless DCS570B circular saw, and is incredibly effective (with my Cen-Tec system) in greatly reducing the amount of dust in my woodshop.

This absolutely fits a DCS578 60v saw without modification
I bought both the DCS578 (Type 1) and this adaptor in Dec 2022. This adaptor went on the saw like...well, like it was made for it. No cutting No grinding No screwing it together before putting it on No need for an offset screwdriver either Perhaps the other reviewer didn't have the hand strength to squeeze the front and back halves together and hold them as he put the screws in. We'll never know. Put the back half on first, hooking the notch onto the bottom rear as the directions state (you're going to read the directions, right? Just don't let anyone see you doing it). Then put the front half in place. The front half doesn't exactly match the saw until the screws are tight, I guess that helps keep it firmly in place once correctly installed without hacking it up. Squeeze the adaptor together as you put the screws in. When the screw are a few turns in, they get tight, and there's a 1/6"-1/8" gap between the 2 halves. I guess that can make some people think it won't fit, but fear not my friends! Gather some inner fortitude and maybe a 1/4" impact driver with a phillips bit (that's what I used) and drive the front screw in. Now don't go nuts on it, just screw it in until the 2 halves touch together. Any more than that and you'll crack it, wasting 12 hard earned dollars. The back screw has to be screwed in on a angle. I happen to have a 6" long phillips bit for my impact, so I used that and went slow so it didn't strip out the head of the screw. If you don't have a long phillips bit that'll work, sucks to be you. You just spent $12 for a dust adaptor you don't need, why didn't you waste a few bucks on some long 1/4" bits for your impact? Up to you on how you're going to tighten it, I'm just leading you to the water. They also give you a new lower guard handle and screw. It's offset (bends outward, away from the adaptor), I guess other saws have a straight lower guard handle. My saw already had the exact same offset handle and exact same size (length) screw they provided with the adaptor, so you know what I did? I removed the brand spanky offset handle and screw from my brand spanky saw and replaced it with the exact same brand spanky handle and screw included with the adaptor. I'm going hang onto the original handle/screw so if the day ever comes that I bend or break the handle on the saw, I'll have no idea where the original parts are and will never find them.

Fits Flexvolt DCS578 and reduces dust
Fits the new cordless DCS578 (PERFECTLY) as well as the DCS575. I own both saws (which I admit is silly since they are identical except for the motor). It works a LOT better than nothing but don't expect it to be like Festool dust extraction. You are still going to have a lot of dust on the floor. The hole in the side is a good idea so that you can use it when you are not near your dust collector or shop vac and I use it with a piece of duct tape over it. Glad I got it but I do wish there was a circular saw with effective dust collection that was even halfway reasonably priced (unlike Festool). Yes I would buy this again. Another note: The 60V saws do NOT need the replacement blade guard retraction lever that comes with this. A good quality screwdriver (Klein or similar) will tighten the bottom screw fine when held at an angle to clear the battery housing. If you use the typical chinese screwdriver, expect to play with it a bit and maybe get a bit creative, but it's not a big deal.

How to use with 2 1/2 inch vacuum hose (Ridgid, Shop Vac, etc)
This fits my Dewalt DWE575 circular saw perfectly. Problem is it's a 1 1/4 outlet and my Ridgid shop vac uses 2 1/2 inch fittings. I got the Powertech 2 1/2 to 1 1/4 adapter which fits my vac hose perfectly, but the 1 1/4 end is the same size as the outlet on this dust attachment, so one does not fit in the other, rather than the od on one matching the id on the other, they have roughly the same od and id. I got this blue striped hose from the plumbing section at Lowe's, sold by the foot for about $4. It was a tad too tight for the dust collection attachment so I used a heat gun and the bottle of foam filter oil in the pic. The bottle has a neck that is the perfect size to stretch out the hose to fit the dust collector. I got it warm and pushed it down the neck to open up the id. After a couple applications it fits perfect. Now everything fits up very tight with a perfect seal. Works great. I also have a Dewalt random orbital sander that the hose fit on perfectly without stretching. I cut the tubing in half and used half to make an adapter for that as well with the Powertech reducer. I don't do many reviews, but it can be a real headache to figure this stuff out, so hopefully this review helps others with the same issue.

Fits my DCS590 circular saw
I'm giving it a 3 star because it passed the initial checks of, being delivered on time, fitting the tool, and all parts included. Now, with regards to fitting the tool, I have a DCS590 circular saw model and this was said (by Black and Decker support) to not be an adapter that would fit nor made for my model saw. I decided to order it anyway and find out for myself. It does fit very well and snug. I've not tested the vacuum air draw but that has nothing to do with the part fitting the tool since it fits quite well. I'll try to update the review after I do some test cuts with and without a vacuum hose attached. I did attach my vacuum hose and it also fits well over the adapter. I don't know why B&D are swaying people away from this adapater for the DCS590 or any circular saw with the same dust profile. This adapter (DWE575DC) likely can be used for several circular saws. The parts were the 2 piece adapter, 2 Phillips screws for the adapter and a handle and t-screw for the handle. The handle is slightly bent in order to avoid hitting the adapter. My handle on my saw is already made the same, so I didn’t switch it out but for those who have a handle that is straight, you’ll be able to switch this and use the saw as it was intended.

Must have!
Perfect and a must have to reduce the saw dust that gets thrown all over the work space. Hook up the vacuum and remove almost all of the saw dust.

It fits (and sucks, like it's supposed to)!
It fit to the saw without any issues and has proved useful in cutting the dust level in my shop down when paired with a collector and cyclone separator though I'm sure a 'shopvac' connection would work fine too.
