Did not work!

I bought these for my office conference room because we needed multiple mics but the only way these mics worked was if you screamed directly into the mic with your mouth only an inch away. Even then it sounded like a whisper on the other end with their volume turned all the way up.

Not sure why all the bad reviews.... this is a great tool!

I am the secretary of my local amateur radio club, and as such am in charge of taking official meeting minutes. Our meeting venue is about 4 8 foot tables configured into a rectangle, I site at one of the corners, so there as about 24 feet maximum and about 2 feet minimum from where I keep the mic.I bought this because the condenser mic on my OLYMPUS digital recorder with 256MB storage just wasn't cutting it. It would work, and I could hear everyone, but the voices really drifted in and out. I am very pleased with the quality of this tool, and if people would stop trying to use this microphone for things other than intended, they would not have written poor reviews. For those who are trying to use this mic with a cell phone I can almost without a doubt tell you it will not work without the correct cable! The cable built into this model is not designed for a cell phone (uses a three ring connector, or TRRS), or any other device that uses a microphone/headphone combination. That is NOT the fault of this product. Connect it to a digital recorder and all works fine as long as the recorder is designed with a TRS female connector.More about the mic: The sound quality is pretty good for as far away as some of the members sit, though there is a slight hum. Once I got past that I have to give it two thumbs! Our meetings can get down right technical, and I am very glad I made this purchase to allow me hear the entire conversation as it took place. If I ever need another, I know right where to go. I also recommended this unit to another member who would was thinking about running the same kind of set up. Very satisfied...even with the hum, I give it 5 stars!

Church Groups With In-Person and Online Participants

In a medium sized church, we have many groups attempting to meet partially in-person and partially online through Zoom. Enabling participants on both sides to hear and see each other has been quite a challenge. And in our socially-distanced world it is no longer possible to huddle around one conference microphone, so these daisy-chained mics are genius! The problem is getting them to work....From my experience, older laptops with separate headphone and microphone jacks do alright. They have the power to run these condenser mics. Newer laptops with a single 1/8" combination jack "TRRS" (in our case, Lenovo and Dell) do not plug-and-play. The Dell recognized a device being plugged in and I selected a microphone connection, but there was no sound. Adding a headset splitter TRRS>2xTRS did not work either. After digging deeper into the reviews, I guessed the powered jack was the problem. So, today I added a USB external sound card (you can see in my photo) which has the separate microphone and headphone jacks. It works! Ah, but before I got too excited I realized the signal was weak. I've turned up every volume setting I can find in Windows 10 and sound card software. Weak. Through Zoom, the sound is picking up evenly around the room, but it's weak. My built-in laptop mic is picking up the room (40'x40') all the way to the back better than these. My next step is to try a pre-amp or maybe one of the USB versions of this mic for the first mic connected to the laptop. I'm disappointed ECS does not offer software drivers to boost the signal or a hardware adaptor to power the mics and amplify. They seem to be well designed and constructed, with some magic signal processing in the daisy chain, but not a match for the application so many people are trying to set up.UPDATE - As I have worked with these, I learned that the more devices are daisy-chained together... the weaker the signal (volume). We were trying to use seven, which was too quiet. Using five is weak, but working for us. With fewer local participants, dropping down to four or fewer microphones improves the overall volume to Zoom.

This mic does not work

This microphone will not work for Conferencing, Teleconferencing, Meetings, Skype, or VoIP like the title states. It will only pick up sound from sources that are sounding directly into the mic from 1 inch or closer, and even that sounds like it is coming from behind a wall. Both microphones produced the same results, while daisy-chained or when used as a stand-alone.

Great microphones for large conference table

Nice microphones for setting up along a long boardroom table daisy-chained together. The sound quality is very acceptable for Zoom-style meetings. A special note that these are TRS (3-pole) connections and won't work directly on a MacBook that uses a TRRS (4-pole) jack. I made a quick call to their customer support and they were able to identify the problem and offer solutions. We wound up buying an adapter (4-pole male to a 3-pole female) and it was working flawlessly. They do make a 4-pole mic, so make sure you know which type of jack you are plugging these into.

WASTE OF TIME & MONEY. No instructions. An absolute terrible product.

No instructions. Product didn’t work after trying for 7 hours. Couldn’t get through to the customer service line on the business card they put in the package. Absolute trash. Save your time and energy. Sending it back with immediate effect. YouTube didn’t help. Don’t buy this product. This product no stars.

you need a powered USB unit as the first mic connected to the computer, then you can use these

These unpowered ones are very weak. I finally got one of these as the first unit out of the computer and these work well after daisy chaining to it:https://www.amazon.com/CM-1000USB-Conference-Meeting-Microphone-Omni-Directional/dp/B008BS3CF8
