This isn't a very tall tree, 4 feet to the top of the top branch, most of spread is closer to 3.5 feet. I put it on a stand and it is perfect. There isn't a turn on/off switch so need to unplug to turn off. Although all the buds don't light up, there is plenty that do giving it very nice illumination. I purchased for my elderly mother who was ecstatic with it, keeps it on in her bedroom, replaces the need for a night lite. It appears to be very good quality, however I don't think I would put it outside as shown in the picture.

It wasn't what I expected in a decorative light.
