Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age NSW (Nintendo Switch)

Amazing game, holds up in the modern age. Control system and game play tweaks work really well, but all familiar to the original PS2 version. Currently over 120 hours in gameplay and not ready to quit yet!

This port for the Switch has been well done and plays really smoothly with quick loading times.

One of the only FF games I hadn’t played. Was pleasantly surprised by the slightly different combat system. Still not my favourite but well worth a play

Played this when it came out on PS2, got bored after about 12 hours and gave up; noticed this was on sale so figured I'd see if I could conquer my demons and finish the thing. Loved the game more this time, being able to speed things up 2x and 4x works great as movement speed is typically quite slow, and if you automate the combat using the gambit system you can just whack it on 4x speed and power level in no time. Really eliminates a lot of my frustrations with the original and I was able to finish it finally, solid FF game.

Excellent port, switch version is a very good version of the game. No issues performance wise. Lengthy campaign extremely well presented, good story,, voice acted, decent graphics, highly customisable gameplay.

This port is absolutely incredible. Gorgeous remastered soundtrack and graphics. There us also the ability to “fast forward” making previously tedious segments of the game enjoyable. If you want a game that’s worth the price tag look no further. This is a long game and incredible on the go. Plays for around 3.5h and the it’s time to charge the Switch, in case you’re wondering. If you lower the settings slightly, you can get more time out if the console.

Top class game. Didn’t play to completion the first time this game came out so great to have that chance again. You can see the basis of final fantasy 14 within this game and the development of future titles. The live combat is a step away from turn based roots but at the heart the combat feels like final fantasy and the game flows well. If you have a switch and like final fantasy games this should be a must have.

This is one game in the series I never had the opportunity to play. I was a little hesitant to purchase as I had heard rather mixed reviews. My first few hours I was impressed, the world feels lived in the action based combat interesting. With the addition of controllable party scripting 12 begs the question how did 13 go so wrong? However, the further in I got in the more I could see the framework of 13's faults. The characters are very one note at best and annoying at worst. Graphically acceptable, it is an older game but playing on the go visuals aren't the most important thing. In the end I was most surprised with how easy and short the game was. I kept waiting from the game to increase in difficulty but once you set up you character scripts correctly and do the basic amount of exploration it is rare that a battle will give much difficulty. One to get on a discount or used.

A little blurry maybe but overall it looks quite good even on the switch, is one of my favorite of the series. Game came in order all intact.

Absolutely one of the best in the gaming industry to have in my collection today! Without the slow, and lagging game play alike with the original release; I was able to defeat Yiazmat in approximately 8 hours compared to like three days in the past on PS2. Also it is loaded with awesome new features giving a smooth gameplay experience to all those who seek the best of nostalgia. Overall my time in this repeatedly played game has always been epic!

Ce jeu est un chef-d'œuvre du RPG, et le fait de pouvoir y jouer partout avec la Switch est un vrai bonheur. La version Switch offre une expérience fluide et visuellement impressionnante, tout en conservant l’âme du jeu original. 🏰 L’un des gros points forts de cette version, c’est la possibilité de jouer à la fois en mode portable et sur la télévision. En mode portable, le jeu est toujours aussi beau, avec des graphismes nets et une fluidité parfaite. Les environnements sont détaillés, les personnages bien modélisés, et l’immersion est totale. C’est vraiment génial de pouvoir jouer à un jeu aussi grandiose dans un format aussi compact. 🌟 Le système de combat est l’un des plus innovants de la saga. Les combats en temps réel avec des éléments stratégiques en font une expérience unique. Le système de Gambits, qui permet de programmer les actions des personnages, ajoute une dimension tactique que j’adore. Cela permet d’adapter facilement les stratégies en fonction des situations sans perdre en dynamique. ⚔️ L’histoire de Final Fantasy XII est captivante, avec un monde riche, des personnages profonds, et une intrigue qui tient en haleine. Vaan, Ashe, Balthier et les autres compagnons sont tous attachants, chacun avec ses propres motivations et relations. Les dialogues sont bien écrits, et l’univers d’Ivalice est vaste et fascinant. 🌍 La bande-son est incroyable, comme toujours avec Final Fantasy, et l’ajout de nouvelles options comme la possibilité de rembobiner le temps ou d’activer des boosters d’expérience rend l’expérience encore plus agréable, surtout pour ceux qui veulent profiter du jeu sans trop de grind. 🎶 Enfin, la version Switch bénéficie d’une excellente optimisation. Aucun lag, aucune coupure, et les contrôles sont très bien adaptés à la manette de la Switch. Je suis vraiment impressionné(e) par la qualité de cette conversion. En résumé, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age sur Switch est un must-have pour les fans de RPG et de la saga. Une expérience complète, immersive et agréable, que ce soit pour les anciens joueurs ou ceux qui découvrent ce classique.
