Great for Small Recipes or 1-2 People, Easier to Clean
We love it. It is an ideal size for small recipes for 1-2 people, with limited left overs depending on how much you eat, fill your plate or just 1/3 your plate with other sides like a veggie & potatoes or roll. But it doesn't fit everything that you would want to make. Realistically you will likely need both a 3.5 and 5 quart crock pots to select based on the size of the recipe. We still use this 3.5qt most for 2 of us, but have on occasion found it filled too quickly and switched over to the 5qt. Remember, any crock pot should only be filled to 2/3, not the top that is shown in all pictures on any box. We had started with a lot of veggies and potatoes and found we were already at 2/3 on this 3.5qt before we could even add the meat, so we switched to the 5qt. But then you do not want to always use a 5qt either, because you do not want too little in. So we end up using this 3.5qt most for the 2 of us, but have to occasionally use 5qt. The 3.5qt pot is easier to clean because it is smaller and weighs less than the 5qt. The construction and quality of this pot seem very good to us. The lid is standard thickness for crock pots, and there doesn't seem to be any need for it to be heavier while it is cooking. It does build up condensed water around the ring of the lid and bubbles out during cooking as it continually pushed out steam. The 4 settings seem to give you plenty of flexibility, but we use low for most, and the automatic switch to warming mode is nice. The recipe book was actually nice compared to a Crock Pot brand 5qt (that we also like) that claimed a recipe book, but really only added a few pages at the pack of its manual. This one is a nice spiral bound book, but no pictures. We couldn't always just set it and forget it, or just follow the exact time on the recipe. You really have to experiment to find the ideal cooking time for you. We found our recipes are done earlier than the usual 8 hours stated in our recipes, and ended up getting overcooked. So you make it once, realize it is dryer or veggies are overcooked, so you reduce the time next time. So the meals weren't perfect the first time we did any recipe so far, but were better the second time around when we made cooking time adjustments. For example, the first meal shown in the video was overdone, apples overcooked, and meat was a bit tough, which I think you can see in the video. So next time, just cook it less. For some meats, you really should test with a probe thermometer to ensure it is safely cooked, but hopefully only to confirm it is done, not to check frequently because you have to add cooking time every time you remove the lid. For the second meal shown in the video (pulled pork), it too cooked longer than needed the first time, and was better the second time when we checked the temperature earlier and confirmed done earlier. The best success we had with this was making pulled pork. Btw, I skipped showing the steps testing the meat temperature, adding the BBQ sauce, and using a fork to shred the pork.

Amazing product. Does everything!
Title: Perfect All-in-One Cooker — I Use It Constantly! Review: I bought this Cuisinart four-mode cooker because I wanted one appliance that could handle multiple cooking tasks without taking up a lot of counter space. It can sauté, steam, slow cook, and roast — and it does all of them really well. First impressions: When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was how solid and well-made it felt. The controls are simple, the inner pot is sturdy, and nothing feels cheap. Performance after real use: After using it often for several different meals, I can say it’s become one of my most reliable kitchen tools. I love being able to sauté meat or vegetables right in the same pot before switching to slow-cook — no extra pans to wash. It cooks evenly, heats up fast, and everything I’ve made has turned out great. Pros: • Very versatile (sauté, steam, roast, slow cook) • Saves time and reduces extra dishes • Easy to clean • Solid build and reliable performance • Great for everyday cooking Cons: • None so far — it’s performed perfectly for everything I’ve used it for Would I buy it again? Absolutely. It’s one of those appliances I reach for constantly, and it has replaced several other gadgets.

Best One Yet
I have had this through the winter (slow cooking season) so I feel I can leave a review now. I have other sizes and brands of slow cookers, but this one gets used the most for a few reasons. First, I cook meals for 2 people with leftovers...so you could consider that 4 people. We are pretty big eaters...for instance we can destroy a full size pot roast within 2 days. Hey, it's the Midwest - we love beef! I feel I could fit an entire (smaller) chicken in this cooker if I wanted to. Mostly I cook boneless chicken breasts, stews, chili, and the aforementioned pot roast. This cooker is that perfect in-between size where I can do as little as 3 large chicken breasts or as much as a roast and potatoes, although that fills it to the top. Second thing I like about this cooker is the programmable timer is dead easy. At first I thought it was too simplistic and would confuse me, but I have no problems with it, whereas my "Stay or Go"...I had so much trouble feeling like I had it on the right setting I would sometimes consult the manual and often leave for work convinced that I did something wrong. I came home to THAT cooker "off" one day for no reason and I never did figure out if it was user error or a power failure, but there was no way the food was safe. The Cuisinart is easy and I feel confident it will go into warm mode when the cook time is done, since that is the default setting...which is ideal for me since I am away from home 11-13 hours. Third thing I like is that it's actually easier to clean than my "Stay or Go." I have no idea HOW since they both have the black removable crock, but this one releases stuck food much much easier. I have NOT tested it, but it also seems the temps are better in this crock. My other one seemed way way too hot hot hot on the low setting and there was just no way a boneless skinless chicken breast would survive that. This Cuisinart cooker just made me the most lovely pot of moist juicy white chicken breast (which I shredded and used for tacos) the other day and I am STILL amazed. Two quibbles: I think it's expensive. I delayed buying due to that and I wish I'd had this cooker sooner! The cord is about 16" long at MOST. It's the shortest cord ever. I understand that this is probably for safety??? But in older homes like mine it often means there is only one spot on the countertop where this can go, and it's where everything else is...my other crock at least had a long enough cord that I could put the cooker on the stovetop and keep the countertop clear, but this one has to be snugged right up to the outlet, directly under the cabinets.

So Far We Love It
I can't speak to the longevity of this slow cooker as I've only had it for two weeks. In that time, however, it has seen a lot of action. Many years ago my grandmother bought me a cheap slow cooker and gave me a few older used slow-cooker cookbooks. Everything came out tasting like the same chewy rubber, so I gave up and gave the slow cooker away. After a delicious meal at a friend's house recently that was made in a slow cooker I thought I would be willing to give them a try again. I did some research into what kinds of features I would like and what size would be best for our three-person family and hit upon this particular slow cooker. I have several other Cuisinart products in my kitchen and have been happy with their durability and quality so I was happy to purchase this brand again. The best features of the slow cooker, for me, are the timer, the variety of settings, and the size. The time allows you to set the slow cooker in 30 minute increments. After cooking on whatever setting you choose, it automatically switches to warm (not off!). This was a feature missing from my older slow cooker which made it imperative that I was home to turn it off at the correct time. I should also note that you do not have to use the timer. This slow cooker, unlike my other one, also has four heat settings: high, low, warm, and simmer. Although the manual says only to use warm for food that is already prepared, it is still a useful setting. As I said, it switches to this once it is finished cooking and keeps the food warm until you are ready to serve. There are only three people in our household, myself, my husband, and our infant daughter. We did not need an enormous slow cooker. I could see wanting one to make leftovers or feed a crowd, but neither of those were really issues for us. The size is more than adequate and it still makes more than enough for us to feed a few others if we had a party. The biggest perk of having one of these in kitchen is, as I have discovered coming into the hotter months, that I don't have to turn the oven on. I love pulled pork, braised meats, or just generally a hot meal, but having the oven on in the summer is miserable even with the AC blasting. This totally solves that problem! It is also very easy to use and attractive (as compared to some of the 1970s versions I have seen). Long story short, I am happy with this slow cooker. It's the perfect size and I can cook while staying cool.

Insert Came Warped and Cuisinart charges you to return. LUCKILY AMAZON does not. But Star Rating For CUISINART company.
Last and final update because unfortunately they have dropped to 1 star now. In total I have had to return this product four times. The last time was because unit stopped turning on one day after one month. Gave it one more chance. Now this one lasted 4 months and is The final straw. This one is doing same had started to get screwy with temperature, boiling things on low and simmer, couldn't stop it from getting too hot even on low slow cook.. Then one day didn't turn on. Waited til next day and would get just light up screen no functioning. Then worked again for week. Not heating well. Now today again won't turn on. I need reliability. I'm done. Expensive and unreliable. So disappointed. —— UPDATE ON MY REVIEW: This is a great piece of equipment for your kitchen I use this every day from breakfast to lunch to dinner, to pre-making meals to put into the freezer> It has so many uses I would not be able to even list them all. Today I used it to pre-cook vegetables to use during the week. Then I made brown rice to use later as well. (I have a rice cooker, but I actually preferred to use this over my rice cooker it allows me to cook perfectly steamed rice quickly using the boil/steam button. Then I cooked meat and chicken. I also made eggs this morning. You can heat up slices of pizza (or reheat other items ) so that the cheese melts perfectly and the bottom gets a little crispy. You can prepare a meal that has various steps such as saute, roast, and then slow cook in the same pot. I absolutely love this cooker. It is a breeze to clean, you can put insert into dishwasher, but I just wipe out and wash at sink quickly dry it and put it right back. > Additionally, the following Review included my experience with Cuisinart's policy on their products. I purchased this MSC-800 cooker and was very excited to receive it and start using it. I have owned multicookers before and think they are a great item for my needs. When this cooker arrived, I put it to the test right away. Unfortunately after a few different tests I realized that the cooker insert is slightly warped and therefore causing uneven heating and cooking, temperature etc. Ok, this is alright, things like this happen. I called Cuisinart and they tell me that it is a Limited Warranty and that they will replace it, but I have to pay to ship it to them. I explained again that I had just gotten it 3 days before, did I really have to Pay to ship it to be replaced? The agent was so rude that I had to ask for a supervisor. Long story short she lied said there wasn't one, I had to call back and start all over. Cuisinart does in fact feel that YOU should pay to ship a defective product to them. One that cost hundreds of dollars and did not work properly from the start due to a manufacturing defect. This made me feel so badly as a customer. My first Cuisinart purchase. feeling like I made a mistake because of such a sad way to treat a customer. Thank goodness for AMAZON. They Made this experience better. They are sending me a new one before they even get this one. Thank you AMAZON. So, This is going to be a two part review. I do look forward to having a working cooker, but I will also note in that review that I am not feeling very warm and fuzzy about Cuisinart MSC-800 Cook Central 4-in-1 Multi-Cooker, 7 quart and will not be purchasing another product from their company.

Love It, Use It Often -- but easy to scratch the pan
I wait to write reviews until I have used a product for quite a while, so here is mine for the Cuisinart MSC-600. I love this slow cooker, but it does have one major flaw. Here is my history with these wonderful slow cooker appliances. 1973 - Original Crock Pot, wedding gift, 3-1/2 quarts, avocado green crock/non-removable. Used this at least twice a week for 20 years. 1995 - Old original still working fine, but outside was so beaten up that it was getting embarrassing to leave out on a new kitchen counter. ~2002 - Bought a Black & Decker slow cooker that cooked everything, but scorched the edges of food near the sides. ~2006 - Went back to Rival for a new authentic Crock Pot. Crock was removable (easier clean up), but still not heat evenly. 2012 - Back to Rival, bought a newer Crock Pot (another removable crock). Heated more evenly, but the crock started showing stress cracks in the bottom within a few months. Finally, after three years, a move from the fridge with prepared food directly to the base unit (on low) shattered the crock. 2015 - Cuisinart MSC-600 3-In-1 Cook Central 6-Quart I am so sad that the quality of the Original Crock Pots has diminished, but I am happy that I found my Cuisinart 3-in-1. We are no longer talking "crocks" here because it seems like current-standard stoneware is just not what it used to be, but I am satisfied with the all-over heating with this new cooker. I absolutely LOVE the fact that I can brown, saute, and sear in this and then move to slow cooking. The only reason I am dropping a star is because of the flimsy non-stick covering of the pan. I knew to never use metal utensils in the pan, but because I only own wood or silicone utensils these days, it never occurred to me as a potential problem. Unfortunately, here's what happened one night: family event, lots of people enjoying chili, and while I was outside socializing, well-meaning friends emptied the pan into leftover containers, rinsed and filled the pan with hot water and soap, and tossed in all of the used flatware (metal). During cleanup later that night (or was it the next morning ;-), I found two noticeable scratches in the bottom of the pan. Ok, I know that cooking/stirring with metal was not advised, but just tossing in forks/knives for soaking is enough to scratch this surface to pure shiny aluminum? And the scratches to pure aluminum? I am not sure because I do not have access to a laboratory micrometer, but I am sure that I put my deodorant on thicker than the non-stick coating on this pan. Overall, great buy and I use it at least twice a week, but I will always have a little heart-tug missing the QUALITY of the Original Crock Pot.

Why did I not get this sooner??
For the ten years I've been married, I've thought I just didn't have the slow cooker gene. So many people rave about their effortless Crock-Pot dishes, and yet mine always turned out dry, stringy, leathery, and mushy-tasting. I finally accepted it as one of those things I just don't have the talent for, like gift-wrapping and pretty much anything athletic. When I started troubleshooting with friends, I found out a few tips that made me rethink the situation. Our 6-quart (because my then-fiancé insisted it was the necessary size) was actually too big for most of the cooking I did. Then, the slow cookers of today run at much higher temps than the old-school ones we remember our moms using. I finally looked up the Amazon reviews on the specific model we'd received as a wedding gift and discovered that, with several hundred reviews, it had a 2-star rating for the same reasons I'd struggled with. Ah. I finally let go of my loyalty to the wedding gift and decided to try another model. Don't laugh, but this is a GAME-CHANGER. I was concerned that the 3.5 quart slow cooker would be too small, but it's ideal for our family of four. Roasts, whole chickens, soups, all sorts of things are in there, and I find that I have it out on the counter being used more often than I have it in the cabinet! I threw in a whole chicken the first day to make shredded stuff for a soup, and the results were what I always thought it was supposed to be: falling-off-the-bone tender, juicy, perfectly done. I then put the carcass back in with some vegetable scraps I'd been saving, and after setting the slow cooker to 'simmer' for 24 hours, I had a phenomenal organic chicken stock. (If you haven't looked up the health benefits of this stuff, you're in for a pleasant surprise.) There are two features that I won't do without now: the ability to program time in half-hour increments up to 24 hours (yay!) and the four settings: high, low, simmer, and warm. Turns out the 'simmer' setting is almost the same as what 'low' used to be years ago, which is ideal for things like bone broth. Being able to set the temp to 'warm' from the start is also a wonderful feature, and I really enjoy having that flexibility. The insert is remarkably easy to clean, and the exterior just needs a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth. The footprint is reasonably small, so that having it on the counter all day does not eat up the entire space. Much as it pained me to donate a generous wedding gift, I really am wishing I'd bought this particular model years ago!!

TOP OF THE LINE
This is a great slow cooker. It has some features that others do not have. Love the stainless non stick insert (much lighter than those heavy ceramic ones & much easier to clean). Also, being able to brown/saute meat before slow cooking is a great time saver plus less mess. Just brown & switch to slow cook. Also has a steamer rack which is another plus. This slow cooker is well worth the money. I have only had it since late December & have used it several times already.

No display no power
The product never worked right from the beginning. You have to buy a 220/110v converter to run this gadget. The power consumption is 200 w.To be in the safe side I used a 350w converter but the cooker display never came on nor the cooker. Awaiting replacement / refund. Cost of the cooker was Rs.8229.

Great multipurpose cooker
I’ve only used the Slow Cooker function so far, but it does a great job. It has a good sized capacity for a family of four. It appears to be sturdy and well made so far.
