Quality product and easy to use
Works great on sealing up my PL-259 on the choke going to my Mosley PRO-67 B Amateur radio beam on a tower 50ft up in the weather and will last for years keeping out the moisture.

Sticks very well, but you need to stretch it!
All the reviews claiming this does not stick - they are not stretching it out first. If you keep it tight while wrapping it around the cable (or whatever you want to wrap), it sticks very strongly to itself. Imagine stretching something like an ACE bandage and you will get the right result. It does not just "stick" to itself either - it is hard to describe, but it really seems to "bond" to itself and create a thick continuous wrap. Even though it bonds to itself, it does not leave behind sticky residue. It does not create any gummy goo like some kinds of these weatherproof cable wraps. It removes extremely cleanly with just a knife. Of course that was just testing for a few days - time will tell how it holds up over years.

I recommend this tape!
I used this tape to re-cover, repair my service cable to the house to the meter. Wrapped easily once you understand it only sticks to itself, not the cable. I cannot compare it to the Scotch, but I thought it was a quality product, easy to use and the price is affordable. You do not have to use the redline side, you can use the totally gray side as well.

Wow this stuff is awesome!!! I will be using this in commercial cooking applications and if it doesn't hold up I will update. Otherwise it's the real deal.

Really great
This is a liner less tape with out glue on either side. I used this tape before in the oilfield running tools in the hole that needed to have a waterproof connection plus be able to stand a fluid under hydrostatic pressure. You make you connection and start rapping with the tape. The tape will stick to its self. You need to stretch as rapping. The tape will make a solid rubber barrier. Then use good black 3m 33 tape on that and you are good for anything. If for some reason you would need to remove it. Use a knife and slice length wise. You will at that time see how the tape turns into a solid rubber shield. I used it recently to instal water proof lights on a boat trailer that gets used in saltwater, brackish water and fresh water. Using this application I do not expect any problems with corrosion at the connection.
