Do these socks shrink when washed?

I have been hanging these socks up to dry and after several wears, they’re actually stretching out and are too loose now. I might try putting them in the dryer to see if they’ll shrink a bit — but they’ve also pilled a lot and I’m worried they’ll fall apart even more in the dryer…

Why are women's products always made whimpier then men's? the men's are .19 weight and the women's .17, why???

Well you could order the mens. I think it comes down to size. I don't know the size of your feet, but most women have smaller feet. The extra weight might be too much bulk, and make them uncomfortable. My wife was very happy with these. She is a size 6 female shoe. I wear size 11 male. Now in Flip-flops she is wearing a mens of a brand I have, but adjusted for her size because she liked them. To really answer you question it come down to mass. Is your foot 13" long and 5" wide? If you had the thicker sock and your foot is 8' long and 3' wide it would be bulky. If you have man feet then buy the mens. It isn't that hard.

Are they machine washable, or do they have to be washed by hand?

Good quality, and machine washable. I also dry them in the dryer and they do not shrink. Very warm socks.

Nope,they are very comfortablea and cozy.Definitely winter socks. Nice things for wool they aren't itchy.
