Mighty midget.
Wow, cuts as well as my plug in saw and less than half the weight and size. Easy to manage with one hand in tight spots.

Great tool
Lightweight and very efficient and has brushless motor. Sits well in the hand. Very sturdy. It's not the most silent but definitely less louder than i expected. I am using it to cut thick branches while pruning where secateurs are no go. Works with a 12 V battery which is common for many Bosch 12 V battery powered tools. I pretty much like this saw and would recommend it to anyone considering getting one.

Look quality, Battery is only 2Amp
The item is made in China. However, It looks quality and well made. The battery is 2 Amp not 2.5 Amp as advertised.Expected it to be good like most of Bosch products.

My favorite yard tool!
I have a variety of a lot of palm trees and other prickly plants on my Southern Californian property. I use this thing ALL THE TIME with Milwaukee sawzall pruning blades. My first one, several years old, seems to have disappeared out of my garage near the door where it was setting. Hmmm. Finally gave up looking for it so just bought a new one and it seems as hardy and identical to my first. Hefty but not heavy. I’ve been happily sawing away and it, plus the battery it came with, are performing very well. I also use it to saw wood and pvc irrigation pipes with other blades. I’ve accidentally sawed off nail heads so I know it works well on metal too. The size makes it great to maneuver into tight spaces like my huge bird of paradise plants, hibiscus trees and acacia trees and bushes. FYI my dad bought the Ryobi version and it’s great too but slightly bigger. I prefer as small as possible without losing sawing power and this Bosch accomplishes that. But it all depends whether you’re already committed to another brand’s batteries. If not, I’d choose this one at least for yard work.

Brought this 12V specifically to cut out a door and window openings through T1-11 siding to make my daughter's cubby house. I already owned the drill driver and impact driver and had been very happy with the easy ergonomics and tight access on those tools. There are a number of great things about this saw.1.) the carry case. It is a step up from the drill driver case (which is not that practical). Zippered with a handle it now stores the saw, drill driver, impact driver, drill bits and charger.2.) battery - carries enough charge to get all but the largest job done. Started on 3 bars and had reduced to 2 bars after cutting out door from T1-11 siding.3.) Power - the sweet spot for using this is product that adds up to 1 inch thick. I have used it on siding, abs pipe, corrugated iron roofing material, trim planks etc. Would I use it to demolish 2x4 window framing that is nailed in? - you could, but that would take some time.Could they improve it?Funnily enough I found holding the tool reversed cutting away from myself gave a great deal of control. This meant the tool could be used to cut 1x3 trim boards more safely than with a skill or table saw. The blade is not centered in the guide so I marked the position on the front and back of the guide to use this as a cross between a jigsaw/skill saw. Would be easy enough to have this done at the factory. The included saws are fairly basic. Pick up some others. A 10 TPI wood blade would be useful. The oscillating tool will be my next Bosch 12V purchase.

price, quality, accessories
1248/5000I've previously used the Bosch 12v Max line and they are strong and durable power tools. the power and duration of the batteries in such a small size is incredible. I use them for light work in and outside the home, when I don't want to carry a lot of heavy tools. The first time I used them, they looked like toys to me, but then I saw how strong they were and they opened my mind to other possibilities. When the work is heavy, I use my Makita Cordless tools which have also given me good results.I would like to draw the attention of Bosch distributors in the USA, since it seems to me that they do not fully describe the accessories that come with the tool in this kit, that increases the price-value ratio enormously. Attached are photos of everything I received in the box: * The saw, * a 2.0 amp battery, * an 18 TPI metal saw blade, * a 6TPI wood saw blade, * the charging station for the batteries and * a nice bag, which I don't intend to use for tools but for my portable music, and all ORIGINAL OF THE BRAND.Everything that makes up the Kit adds great value to my purchase, which I think the marketing people at Bosch don't take advantage of (and their competitors do)

SOOO HANDY! I love it.
I only have the use of one hand due to stroke. I'm 81 years old & a DIY guy. I love this thing because, for me, It's something I can easily handle. I have a Milwaukee Saws All. But It's so heavy to try & use one-handed. This little guy is SO HANDY, but it does have it's limitations. So far, I've tried using it with Saws All blades (I thought they might be better quality & maybe cut faster). But actually, for tree branch cutting, the blade that comes with it cuts better.I've found that experimenting with angle of attack & blade speed makes a BIG difference in how quickly it cuts. Faster doesn't really get the job done faster.A necessity of design dictates a pretty short stroke. Tree trimming one handed wasn't working very well because the branch just wiggled with the blade. This is where blade speed, angle, and pressure came into play. I found light pressure on a flexible branch worked faster.I've used this on wood, aluminum, PVC, steel, (all clamped down, or in a vice, so the work can't jiggle). It's nothing like a Saws-All, but it beats doing it by hand. Battery doesn't last very long. If you have many cuts to make consider a spare battery, or lots of coffee breaks.I had some trouble at 1st, removing the battery for charging, but now that I've done it a few times, it's not a complaint.
