Fantastic Build Quality
Look, I'm as amateur as they come, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I only bought this to help combat mouse shoulder syndrome, and I spent a lot of time comparing different curl bars. This one checked all the boxes for me, so I went ahead and bought it. I'm honestly surprised by the quality of this bar and wasn't expecting it to be so nice. I'm convinced I could've paid a lot more for a different curl bar and gotten something far inferior to this one. The price is right, and the quality is great. The bearings feel great and are super quiet, the knurling works very well (sweat is an absolute non-issue) and covers pretty much everywhere I'd want it to, and the black finish is fantastic. I'm sure it will get chipped & scratched eventually, but it looks great as of right now. I can't comment on how sturdy it is with weights and whether it bends or anything else, because I'm only using the bar itself; I don't need much weight to help with my condition, and the weight of the bar itself feels like the perfect amount right now. Even if you workout consistently and can handle much more weight than I can, I really don't see where you could go wrong with this bar. I'm super pleased with my purchase and it's already helping me tremendously after only a week of use. 10 years of dealing with this debilitating pain & plethora of symptoms, and for the first time ever, I genuinely feel like I'm on the road to recovery for once. Thank you for making an affordable quality product!

Great bar, and Iโve used a lot.
I bought this ez curl bar for our home gym where Iโm helping my son on a weight training program. I used to sell commercial fitness equipment and rehab equipment, and also managed a few fitness equipment stores in the local area. Iโve also been weight training for about 40 years. Iโve seen bars made in Sweden all the way to China and US (some were great, some barely passable as fitness equipment). This is a winner. The bronze bushings in this bar are very smooth, which is important if youโre lifting heavier weights. It also illuminates the squeaking that you get when using the bar. The finish is nice and doesnโt appear to be chrome plated on, which always flakes off after a few uses. The knurling is good and deep. Last, the barโs ends have tightly machined grooves on them which helps prevent the Weights from sliding off if you are not using collars. Lastly, the bar arrived in bulletproof cardboard tubing with hard rubber ends that were screwed in with four wood screws. Even after taking the screws out I had to get a screwdriver and hammer to knock the ends off. I appreciate things that are well packed. I didnโt weigh the bar, Iโll go with the 19 pounds as quoted in the literature. I rounded up for my son to 20 pounds. If you want a bar that is quality and is going to last a long time, I donโt think you can do better than this.

Works for me
Right out of the box, it seems like a high quality piece of equipment. As another reviewer alluded to, the anodization on the sleeves seems destined to erode away and flake off. There's already a couple of chips out of the inside (bar side) of the sleeve. (Some of what you see in the picture is lint from the paper towel) Also, some of the red powder coating on the bar transferred to a dry paper towel when I was removing some of the machine oil. However, this isn't a negative review...not at all. I bought this to be used, not put in a museum. The anodization issue isn't a big deal for me. It can be fixed with a Sharpie if it bothers you. And as far as the transfer of the red powder coating..I have never seen anything red that wasn't sealed with another compound that didn't transfer. This seems like it will serve my purpose and out of the tube, it seems to be high quality. And I don't know what people are talking about when referring to the aggressive knurling. Seems about right, to me. Honestly, I could have stood a little more. And speaking of the tube...I wish I could add an extra star for the packaging. I had to drill out the screw holes with a 3/8 drill bit (making sure to not go too deep) and wedge the cap off from the inside. If this bar is damaged during transport, you can assume the truck crashed and burned to the ground on the way to your house.

Fine for the price
Been working with this barbell for a few weeks, I will update if I find major deterioration. Design: 3/5 My major gripe is the knurling placement, in that it only covers a single hand position. If you wanted to do close grip consistently, you will be disappointed. *note, the knurling is VERY aggressive, more intense than "volcano grip" from other name brands. Not a complaint, but just a consideration* Quality: 3/5 The bushings have a lot of rattle and play, and the plate sleeves don't fit the plates and clips particularly well. For me, this means that they float around during the middle of a set and I need to tightent them up in between. Other than that, the build and assembly seem to be done well. No noted defects. The bushings spin well, as expected. Like with any moving metal, it needs to be oiled, which I recommend 3-in-1 at least once a month. Sturdiness: 5/5 It feels good in the hands. I don't know anyone that would be working at the capacity it is rated for, but I think it could handle it. Price: 3/5 For what you are getting, I think it should be cheaper. I imagine this is just their price point for now, and it might go lower in the future.

Bar came as advertised, but had a few blemishes. Their customer service responded very quickly and we came to an agreement very easily. The good: - The mountain style knurling is very good, and while it may throw off people who are used to very passive, featureless grips on their bars, it is definitely not a cheese grater as others seem to comment. - The 28mm shaft diameter is what sold me on this bar, as other "budget" offerings only had 25mm shafts, which are no good if you have even slightly larger than "medium" hands - Snap rings on the sleeves! Other offerings were all hex screws, and those are a PITA to deal with. - Sleeve spin is sufficient for a bar of this type, unless you're the kind of weirdo that does clean & jerks with an EZ curl bar... - Angles in the bar are sufficient for performing most lifts painlessly (I can't curl with a straight bar, it kills my elbows. This one's good) - Bar weighs a little under 20lbs and feels sturdy. I'm unlikely to ever reach it's weight limit in my training, but the 850lbs claim seems credible. The not so good: - Sleeves are ribbed, which may be a no-no for some, but at this price point I'm not complaining - There were some blemishes on the sleeves, but again their customer service was on point and quick to respond. - Sleeves are a little on the short side, as is the bar itself, which may not be optimal if all you have are bumper plates. I personally like this as it keeps everything closer (seriously, who wants to curl with a 7' bar...) and it is unlikely I'll ever need to put more weight than I can fit on the sleeves for the kind of exercises I'll use this for. overall 9.5/10, would reccomend to anyone who does not want to pay mad dough for a Rogue bar and still wants a good bar to make gainz without messing up their elbows and vary from dumbells.

This bar is excellent. I have been using it for about 2 months now. This item speaks of quality. Has a nice weight and feel to it. I use it for almost all my weighted exercises. I even use this for my bench press. I don't have enough room in my apartment for a regular size barbell, so I find this a pretty good compromise. I also love that both ends of this spin freely. I actually didn't know of this feature when I bought this so it was a pleasant surprise to me. This feature really makes my reps feel much more natural. It also eases putting on weights. I also find it lets me really helps me roll or pivot the bar while on the ground and get it into position for my next set. Somewhat hard to describe so as an example. Lets say you huff and grunt and get all rallied up for your next set. But just as you bend down to pick up the bar, you find its too far away or tilted too much. Rather than having to stand up again to move or bring it closer, causing you to lose that aggressive momentum you had. Instead if you find its cockeyed, you bring it closer and start your rep. Such a minor thing, but my previous gyms never had this so it's a nice feature to rave about. Also, the item shipped quickly and came really well packaged. Was a workout on it's own just to open it. haha.

Just got this barbell but I am impressed by the quality and durability. Love the black anodized finish. Loads easily and can be used for a variety of different exercises in a home gym. Would buy again.
