How does royal canin german shepherd dry dog food compare with the nutro chicken whole brown rice and oatmeal recipe? for tummy trouble

I went thru several different foods when I adopted my 3 year old German shepherd. He was having very loose stools and was under weight. When I tried Royal Canin German Shep the results were excellent, In about 2 weeks his stools were firm and within about 6 months he went from 67 pounds to 81 pounds, all muscle. His coat is excellent and very shiny. He is 14 years old now!!! , and healthy other than some sight and hearing loss and weak rearend. I highly recommend this food for any German Shepherd Dog.

Anyone prefer using this brand over blue buffalo brand? i feed my two gsd blue buffalo and they love it but the biggest bag comes in 24 pounds.

I would have to say definitely! I’ve fed my gsd many brands like zignatures and blue buffalo, but the majority of foods we’ve tried would result in a variety of different skin issues. I’ve been giving him the gsd royal canine bags for almost 2 years now. Any issues were noticeably getting better from the start and he hasn’t had any repeat skin irritations from eating this food. He’s been perfectly healthy.

I didn't actually see this food has any meat in it. Seems as though it's a lot of animal fat with vitamins added?

Short answer is This food has meat meal. Meat meal is dried ground up meat. Since it has no water a product with meat meal will technically have more meat then a product with meat comparing two equal amounts.

I dont see any fruits or veggies or any real meat for that matter ? How could this possibly be designed for Shepherds not to mention dogs in general.

stopped using this product. gues its ok but with all the hype about it I decieded on another product. I spent several hours on the computer to find the best. I will save you a lot of searching rhe best product I was able to find Is Zignature many varieties of this product and my GSD loves it. Might have to go to a better animal food store to find it.
