Does this compete with BedJet?

Hi.
Thank you for your question. With the BedJet, air is blown over top of you. With the ChiliPad the pad will be underneath you with water running thru tubing - water has 25 times the cooling efficiency of air. When the water runs underneath it will either pull heat from the body for the cooling factor or run warm water to warm the body. Here is how the system works. The technology that is used in the system is 4 thermo-electric chips which need to be kept cool for them to reach the lowest setting LO/55. To do so, the unit must push out warm air and pull in cooler air to keep them at a temp of 75 degrees or lower. The warmer the ambient temp is above 75 the less difference there can be between the ambient temp and set temp on the unit. The unit isn't intended to replace A/C, but to assist in allowing the customer to get a cold night’s sleep without having to turn the thermostat and only need to turn the ChiliPad to a low setting. The system will also prevent the heat from building between the sleeper and the mattress, allowing better sleeping conditions throughout the night.

What is the return policy

It has a 30 day trial period, but if you return it you not only pay the return shipping but they will deduct their original shipping costs from your refund.  You must also get an RMA number before returning it, which is standard practice.

How long does it take to get used to using a chilipad and what is the most commonly used temperature for keeping cool?

Thank you for reaching out. We ask that you try the ChiliPad system for 30 days as it has been proven scientifically that it takes an average person 3 weeks to get used to a change in the sleeping conditions. As far as temperature goes, that is personal preference. We do suggest starting at 6­5­* and adjusting from there.

Can I Put mineral water into it? Or does it have to be destilled water?

Thanks for your question. We do recommend using distilled water to help prevent build up in the control unit and pump; however, you can still use tap water, you just may need to be a bit more diligent in keeping up with the cleaning instructions.
