Amaryllis Kit: Minerva + Plastic Pot/Soil/Bulb - Large Bulb 26/28 cm -Netherland

These are a lot of fun to plant and watch grow. They practically grow right in front of your eyes… Amazing!

We sent three amaryllis to three friends for Christmas. Each received a different variety. They have been in touch and were so surprised and pleased with their plant. Of course all three are growing so no blooms yet. Can’t wait for them to send pictures in the future!! A great gift idea!

I grow an amaryllis every year for Christmas and normally just buy a bulb from a local store. However, this year I was unable to find any and decided to purchase this one even though it was twice the price that I would normally pay. The bulb arrived without any box damage so I was hopeful for a good bulb. After opening the package, I noticed that the bulb had already started to sprout and there were NO roots attached to the bulb. I planted the bulb anyhow and things were not looking to bad but after the bulb started to bloom, it just died after only opening partially (see picture). There is another bud and I've got my fingers crossed that it will bloom even though it will not be in bloom for Christmas. I would not recommend spending the money for this bulb. Next year I'll try harder to find one locally.

I have changed my review. I got this home and was not pleased because one of the two stems was dead looking. After planting, sure enough only one stem started to grow. I was so surprised to see several flowering sprouts start to form. I got 5 flowers from the one stem. I was ecstatic. I usually only have only gotten one or two in the past. I thought they were going to be red but they are white with tips of red. Just beautiful. I needed this joy in my life.

We love our Amaryllis. It just bloomed last week (12/12). We planted it 11/4. I wish we had waited a week so the blooms would be new at Christmas but the timing is always hit or miss. But, it grew and bloomed magnificently. However, the little pot that comes with the bulb is too small. When the plant reached full height and bloomed, it kept falling over. We had to transplant to a larger (6") pot. Otherwise, it's a great purchase. We'll buy again next year.

Quick arrival. Gift well received! Appeared to be good size bulb! Instructions easy to follow. A bit more pricey than those available in Csnada.

Grows quickly.

Horrible, item arrived dead & moldy. This was supposed to be a birthday present, it absolutely sucked. Don't waste your money!
