This heatsink is built, looks, and is packaged like something costing 10X what it does. Excellent!
I have two 2280 size M.2 NVMe SSDs in my new build and wanted to put heatsinks on them to, A. Help them live and perform as well as possible and, B. dress them up a bit and give them a finished look for my build. I chose these because they were inexpensive, appeared to be decently made, and had the right look for what I wanted. After receiving and installing them, I am so impressed by the superior quality and finish of these heatsinks that I'm writing this review of them, something I rarely ever do on Amazon. The heatsinks arrived in a very neat, high quality box a little bigger than a CD case with two clear adhesive seals, as per typical. The box included some warranty and instructional paperwork (printed in english) the two piece heatsink, three silicone thermal pads (one spare), a little ziplock bag with the six screws needed to assemble the heatsink (there were actually seven, a spare was included here too), and a little phillips head screwdriver for the screws. The inclusion of the screwdriver was a really nice touch, as the screws are quite small and many people may not have a driver small enough - I didn't and I have a pretty comprehensive set of tools so this was a lifesaver really. All of these items were neatly arranged into a perfectly cut, dense foam rubber insert in the box. The packaging gives the impression that this is some kind of delicate and expensive photographic instrument or something, not a little $12 M.2 heatsink, but that's the kind of quality were talking about here. No blow molded PTFE packaging here, the way my DDR4 RAM sticks and other, much more expensive components were packaged. I digress. The heatsink is a two piece, black anodized aluminum 'sandwich', the top half is clearly machined from aluminum billet, the bottom is thin metal so probably just watercut or punched, but was still nicely finished and anodized black and had white manufacturer printing on the bottom. Even this rather insignificant detail, which you will never see once this is installed, is of high quality and nicely done. The M.2 drive fits (obviously) in between these two pieces with a silicone thermal pad on each side. The pads not only facilitate heat conduction from the drive to the heatsink (as per usual) but also compensate nicely for any slight variations in thickness of 2280 length M.2 drives from different brands. The tolerances, machining quality and finishing of the heatsink parts is, as expected by now, superb and my two drives, one a Samsung and one Crucial, which were not precisely identical in thickness, mounted perfectly and very snugly into the heatsinks and looks very "OEM" and proper with these installed. I don't want to give the impression from all this that these are fancy or elaborate in any way, because they're not. There's no RGB, no visible nameplates, or any other extraneous bells and whistles, they are just simple and beautifully made and are a very nice aesthetic touch to your build, in addition their functional nature of helping dissipate any excess heat from M.2 drives, which I'm sure isn't vital to their operation or they'd all have them already installed. Many of these drives are sold with the brand's heatsinks installed (think mainstream "gaming" RAM sticks) and from what I've seen, most M.2s with heatsinks sell for $50 to $75, or even more, over ones without. There are quite a few different designs, finishes and colors of these aftermarket M.2 heatsinks available at varying price points, some getting up there a bit. In my opinion, you could probably find something equal or pretty close to equal in quality and finish to these, but I highly doubt you'd find anything significantly better at any price. These only cost $12, making it a no-brainer for me, especially over paying the additional $50 or more premium for a preinstalled HS from the SSD brand. I put a lot of thought and care into my builds, both in performance and aesthetics and little details like these are a big part of having a nice polished look and optimal performance in my gaming PCs. If you have M.2 drives in your gaming PC, or intend to install these - they really are great and very fast - and you don't wanna pay and arm and a leg for one with preinstalled heatsinks, you should definitely consider one of these Yateng Chinese made models, you could hardly do better and the price is right.

M.2 Heatsink is a good product and good deal
Very nice quality. Drive fits great, extra insulating strip, hardware and screwdriver included; what more can you ask for? Okay, I wish they had some sexy color available, but black works for me, too. Included instructions are great and there is a video available from the manufacturer here on the sales site. Easy to assemble and install; 5 minutes if you take your time. Great product, and affordable.

Cooler Drive!
I was a bit skeptical at first, but no this thing actually works. Had an Addlink SSD I recently bought and it lowered my temps to just 30-40° F whilr writing or gaming. No issues with the thermal pads or letting it be stable on the motherboard. Cheap and cool stuff 👍

Good for a budget
Works fine for the price, not as much temp decrease as the other heatsink I bought. Installation was straightforward.

Perfect Heatsinks for WD Red SN700 in QNAP NAS RAID Setup
I purchased two Western Digital 500GB WD Red SN700 NVMe SSDs for a RAID 1 setup in my QNAP TS-464 NAS, and paired them with these MHQJRH M.2 2280 SSD heatsinks. These heatsinks are an ideal match for double-sided NVMe drives like the SN700. Installation was quick and simple. The included thermal silicone pads applied easily and made good contact with the drive components on both sides. The aluminum heatsinks are thin but sturdy, and most importantly, they're slim enough to fit perfectly in the tight confines of the TS-464's M.2 slots without interfering with anything else. Temperatures remain stable even under moderate load, and I’m confident the heatsinks are helping maintain long-term reliability. If you’re using WD Red SN700s (or any other double-sided NVMe SSD) in a QNAP NAS or small form factor system, these heatsinks are a great value and a smart upgrade. Highly recommended.

This is the best one! It outperformed my copper heat sink!
I have my operating system installed on an Inland TN320 SSD that I got from Micro Center, and it’s been hitting 66 degrees just browsing the web, and up to 73 degrees while using Adobe After Effects for video editing. I was about to send it back, which would have been a hassle since I’d have to redownload some programs. Then, I decided to try an Icepc copper heatsink for $13. However, even with the copper heatsink, my temperatures were still reaching the high 60s while just browsing the web. Before I returned the SSD, I searched for one more alternative heatsink and stumbled upon a different one for $8 (this one). It had a lot of positive reviews, but since it didn't have copper, I was skeptical. I read through Reddit and other forums where everyone claimed copper heatsinks are superior but more expensive. I agreed with this sentiment, but this new heatsink ended up being significantly better than the Icepc copper one, and it saved me from the hassle of returning the SSD and reinstalling my software. My stock temperatures under full load were 74 degrees, and with the copper heatsink, they only dropped to 69-73 degrees celsius under load, though it did bring my idle temps down from 64 to 60 degrees which was still too hot. With this new heatsink, my idle temperatures are now between 45-50 degrees, and under full load, they only reach 53-57 degrees. It’s a massive improvement and definitely worth it! That's a -15 to 18 degree improvement idle and full load. I'm going buy more of these!

Best one for PS5
If you ended up with a M.2 w/o a heatsink for your PS5 this is it. I'm the wrong one to listen to when it comes to PC. I'm a perfectionist with my rig so I went other routes in that aspect. Back to the point though for the PS5 it's perfect the size is excellent and fits perfectly. I've ran full on tests using just the included pads and have had no reason to think I should use paste like others have stated. These tests include: Final Fantasy 16 - 8 consecutive hour play sessions God Of War - 8+ consecutive hour Play session God Of War Ragnarok - same as above Ratchet & Clank R.A - 5 consecutive hours Horizon 1 & 2 - 9+ consecutive hours Also I've done some other games as well but those are the noteworthy ones. Believe it or not the only games that even raised the temp was Horizon 1 and Ratchet & Clank and none of them were concerning temps the pads were efficient enough. Also I suggest replacing the standard HDMI that comes with the console. I notice it isn't talked about a lot. I bought high performance 8k cables before the consoles even launched. That being said I bought my son a PS5 for his birthday and used the cable provided and that added heat both to the console and the TV. It even made the TV flash on and off, the TV isn't even 2 years old and it's a top of the line Samsung 120hz panel. Recordings from the console show it isn't coming from there (it don't see it) not sure what's the deal with that. Yes there are settings you can change but the cable will for sure fix the issue and you won't have to change anything. Sorry I'm off topic but just some words of advice for PS5 owners and your already on Amazon so might as well check for some cables.

Pretty good
I’m more than sure I really did not need this heat sink, despite having a Gen4 SSD Adata Legend 800. But placing this heatsink on, it runs 10C cooler, should provide good cooling for the drive to last longer

Good for PS5
I installed this into my PS5 and it went smoothly. Just be sure to line up the pads and SSD and there shouldn't be any problem.
