So, I bought this little wooden devil thinking, “How scary can a tiny box be?” Spoiler alert: my soul left my body for three entire seconds. The craftsmanship is simple but devious — it looks innocent enough, like something that might hold a friendship bracelet or Grandma’s spare buttons. But nope. Open the lid, and BAM! out comes a fake spider like it’s auditioning for a horror flick.Works exactly as intended — scare, laugh, repeat! I tried to one-up it by fitting something bigger in there (don’t ask), and let’s just say, this box is mini for a reason. Stick with the spider. It knows what it’s doing. Great for pranking friends, coworkers, or anyone you think deserves a mini heart attack in a box. Would I buy again? Probably. Would my friends forgive me? Probably not.

This was a great white elephant gift, scared the heck out of the recipient, my only complaint is its to small and you cant fit a full size gift card in it. I had to go and buy a special small gift card to fit in the box.

We witnessed a good jump! My 14 yo is not afraid of anything well maybe except for the spiders. He got this box today as a Christmas gift. He opened it, totally freaked out, instantly jumped back, put his hand to the heart and started hyperventilating. After he pulled himself together, he said, “You got me!!!” And believe me it is hard to “get” him nowadays! We videotaped it. It was worth every dime!!! Update. almost Dec 2025. Bought it in Dec 2024. Still working! Did not have any issues with the spider or mechanism . Well-made, good quality product and long-lasting A fantastic Christmas gag! a great prank for all ages ( especially for those who do not like spiders and you need a revenge lol) . over years we got jumps and laughs from many people. Got it for my son but first experimented on my husband. Asked him to open. he slide the lid of this innocent wooden box and a decent size soft rubber spider with floppy legs jumped out before he knew what was happening. He flung the box in the air , it landed on the bed that’s how I knew it works lol! Later I saw this box at the counter in one of the stores it was decorated and said, “please have a candy” .I can only imagine how many people opened it! . absolutely 5 stars for this amazing prank!

I’ve purchased 5 of these now. First one was for a coworker, and the gift just “never stopped giving.” Someone else liked it so much, i purchased one for him for his birthday. I also bought one for my mom who opened it in the airport and it scared the s*** out of her in the waiting area, we were dying laughing. Then I showed my brother (who never gets scared of anything,) and of course he also got the s*** scared out of him and I sware I’ve never seen him laugh harder. Finally bought one for myself to put on my desk at my new job and I can’t wait to terrorize all the Curious Georges who open the box. ***NOTE!!!!! I purchased a cheaper box from a different seller once and it was very cheap and not functional, you really need a box that’s well-crafted and will slide smoothly for an optimal spook. THIS BOX IS THE ONE! It is beautifully crafted and the wood is exceptionally sturdy. It’s a beautiful box and can function as a lovely storage box as well as a prank. BUY THIS ONE! Don’t skimp!

I thought it'd come in a cardboard box like the pictures, and I saw in videos, that just had 'funfam' and some other generic stuff printed on it so you could give the spider in the box with no clue. But instead it's a cardboard box with stickers on it that says 'SPIDER PRANK BOX' under the barcode one side. Wood is kind of rough and unfinished and the lid doesn't slide very smoothly, making it so you open the lid enough to see the upsidedown rubber spider, before it catches and then you have to tug to make it actually come out. Does the job okay and might work on kids but wouldn't really recommend $25.

I read in the review that someone was disappointed. I was not. I liked it.

Box fell apart within minutes when opened don’t waste your money

Terrible quality!! Do not buy ! Both string inside the box and glue holding the wire and spider came broken . Was supposed to be a prank for kids but turned out disappointing as the kids now know about the spider and it didn’t work when they unpacked the package and opened it .

Poorly made, barely works. Not recommended.
