Buy authentic - accept no substitutes, you won't regret it
I'm not going to go over the pros and cons of the controller itself, since if you're reading this, you're in the market for old hardware anyway and you know what you're looking for. Instead I want to write about an important point: when shopping for standard GameCube controllers, there is a big difference in quality between the official ones manufactured by Nintendo, and generics/store brands like the ones GameStop makes. I have owned several controllers over the years; three were official Nintendo controllers, and the rest (8+) were from GameStop or other generics. I'll readily admit that I'm harder on my controllers than most gamers, but consider this: Those three Nintendo controllers all work just fine, even to this day, and they are over a decade old. The most worn down one has some of the paint rubbed off, and the pad on the D-stick is worn down, but otherwise it works perfectly. And those generic controllers? Every single one of them is broken. Parts would break off, the buttons would be unresponsive, the wiring would be faulty, and so on. I think the lesson is pretty clear. Generic controllers may be cheaper, but official Nintendo ones (even if they're previously used) are a far better buy. Stick with the original; you won't regret it.

Great replacement or new controller for Wii
I bought 2 of these to use with my Wii. I bought the first one and was excited that it worked so well with my Wii I bought another and some extension wires. My only complaint is that the wires are 5 1/2 ft. long, which is why I also recommend the extension cables so you're not so close to the TV. Also I bought the first one from a different seller than the second and one came with a white cord, one with black.

Worked well for me
I bought three of these pads, all seem to work perfectly, have played Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Kolona, Sonic Colors, some NFS games, and alot of gamecube games with them and these pads work just right, they are lighter than the Nintendo pads, but provide same functionality, theres no click between half-held and fully pressed on the L and R buttons, but they are actually very smooth buttons (feel almost like xbox 360 triggers)but other than that, they are almost exactly like the originals, and yes, they work with any wii game that supports gamecube pads, so it is fully compatible with gamecube and wii (atleast in my experience). They are also pretty durable from what ive noticed, my lil bro is rough with gamepads.. even tosses them.. and these still work if character moves continuously in a direction (happened to me once) unplug controller, and plug back in without moving the joysticks that is pretty mcuh only prob i had with mine the entire time I owned them, and it was because my bro was playing with it while I was plugging it in.

Not by Nintendo
When I first ordered this I though I was getting a real Nintendo controller in Platinum. Then I get it. It was third party and crap. My fault for not reading fine print but they faked the packaging to look exactly in the shape and basic look as the real one. Therefore, when looking at it you see an orginal. also, it came in grey, not Platinum, as clearly advertised. When I opened it the controller was extremely cheap and light. I could even see a crack with glue in it, even thogh this is supposed to be new and it was in the seel. The buttons are blocky and the controller is trash. Never by this people. You will save your self the heartache.

Try your luck elsewhere
This is a decent controller, but with problems. The feel is alright, somewhat cheaper plastic than the original controllers, but that is expected for the price. It works fine with GameCube and Wii, and I've been able to play my games with minimal issue. The biggest con for me is the fact that on the controller I received, the left trigger does not register a full press. It will register when you hold down the trigger halfway down, but does not register when you press it all the way down. While this hasn't affected the game that I bought it for (Star Fox Adventures), I can definitely see this as a problem if I wanted to play something like LoZ: Twilight Princess. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this controller. If you have the money to spend on a slightly better one, do so. If not, you can take the risk and get this one. It's a decent controller, as I mentioned, but the production is half-assed and you might end up with a defective unit like mine.

Pretty cheap, both price and controller
Looks like normal GameCube controller but in the end it's a cheap 3rd party controller. Veterans of the original controller will feel the difference immediately. The plastic feels different and more cheaper and not as smooth as the original. The same goes for the control sticks and buttons. The shoulder buttons feel even more different as you can feel and hear the spring when you press the L button. It plays pretty well nonetheless I can't complain even though I'm a hardcore melee player. The A button wasn't responsive as in I had to press down hard for it to read at the beginning and I was scared it would affect my gameplay but after a few matches I no longer had that problem and guesses I had to just brush it off. Anyways I'm satisfied with it but I think going the extra way for a used GameCube controller would have been more worth it for me since I'm a melee player. Anyways great price for those who are not sticklers for these things as well as cheap for a new controller.

Impressed
I ordered two of these in the mail for my old game cube to play. For the price I was shocked but also stand offish on if they would work well. Both controllers work and feel just like the original game cube controllers! One of the controllers wire was loose because it was wasn't working and would turn off the game cube. I emailed worldwide sales and the next day they sent me a email saying how they were going to ship me another controller absolutely free. The new controller and the older one I bought with my second one still work to this day great! I'm very happy with this product and the service that came with it!

I play Super Smash Bros. competitively and this is actually the best type of GameCube controller. The new Smash logo ones have minor trigger and joystick issues, the white ones similarly so but not as bad, and the older black/purple/orange/etc. ones wear down faster than these, particularly in the joystick. No, really. They're all built slightly differently. I'm not crazy. NO I'M NOT SHUT UP
