Wish it was intrinsically safe
I picked this up to get more accurate wind readings instead of guessing, and it’s been a solid tool for that. The readings seem consistent. Wind speed responds quickly when conditions change, and it doesn’t lag or jump around. Temperature readings are also in line with what I’d expect, so it feels reliable overall. The Bluetooth feature is actually useful. Being able to connect it to a phone and track or log data makes it a lot easier than trying to remember numbers or write things down. The app setup took a minute, but once it’s connected, it works without issues. The display is clear and easy to read. You can check your readings at a glance without struggling to see what’s going on, even outside. Build quality feels decent for a handheld device. It’s lightweight but doesn’t feel fragile, and the vane spins freely without sticking, which is important for accurate readings. The only downside is the app could be a little more refined, but it still does what you need it to do once everything is set up. Overall, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Accurate readings, useful features, and a good option if you need a portable way to measure wind speed and temperature.

GREAT Anemometer to use, and great for price too!
First off, Amazon must have this unit stocked locally; it came in a single work day. Second, it comes completely as described: hand held/tri-pod mountable unit, 2xAA batteries, small driver tool for battery cover, attachable lanyard, USB cord (not sure why needed), manual, and carry case. the BT-100APP has instructions to UR scan with smartphone for app, or search your preferred play store for "intelligent anemometer"; once downloaded a refresh on your Bluetooth will pair and you're "almost" ready to measure your temp and wind speed.. the manual and box, and online does not mention that you might have to get into your phone settings; go to the wind app, and set the option to download/save your data prior to collecting it... other than that, the unit operates as described, and I even had another temp gauge, AND another wind device nearby, and it is even more accurate and sensitive. the temp is within 1/10th of an AcuRite weather station, and old school mercury gauge; the rotary vanes are more than traditional anemometers, and the low friction bearings are activated by lower wind speeds. I've left it out on a tri-pod overnight and the Bluetooth to the phone works thru windows/walls to 30plus feet. after powering down unit, data on phone can be saved as .xls (excel) or .txt (text) and either emailed, or downloaded to laptop or tower. I own more than four different type/brands of wind measuring devices (I use them to dictate where to install wind turbines on client's properties/buildings), and the BTMeter is by far the nicest, AND easiest to use, AND retrieve and save data; PLUS, one of the least expensive! great product. I will be buying more, and recommending to anyone needing to gauge air volume/speed. Hope this helps someone.

Incomplete Manual.
The product is well made and functions as I expected. Two points though; battery cover was a pain to pry off even with the screws removed with the included screwdriver. I had to use a knife blade to get the battery cover off. Second point and puzzling to me, a usb cable is included and I figured out what it’s for, yet there’s nothing in the manual about the cable. I docked a star because this is a silly oversight that I hope they correct because as I indicated, the anemometer is working well in the limited time I’ve used it. It gives accurate wind readings and the thermometer gets to the right temperature after a few moments. Overall, solid product and good performance, just put a little bit of effort into the manual, please!

Works as its suppose to
this weather station does what it’s supposed to do and is easy to use the best part about it is is that it recharges using a USB. In other words, you don’t have to put batteries in it. It’s easy to put on a tripod and leave it and you can monitor it with your phone. Don’t skip out on the case.

Overall the air flow meets my needs but app is useless.
I just got the BT-100-APP and did a test drive. I got this just for measuring my HVAC fan blower output at different vents as I have a variable speed blower. I believe for that purpose the device appears to work although I do not have a way to compare its accuracy for air flow. I can say for a fact that the temperature is off by 3 deg F which is a lot. Also the app is almost useless. The data tab gets it information from the device (not saved in the app) and it does this real slow - I could not wait for more than 2 minutes to see the latest data that I captured. The average button seems to only work for temperature and not for air flow - this is the most disappointing for me. There is no USB slot on the device so the included cable is useless. Other than all that, I just want to measure air flow, so that sort of meets my immediate need and can do without any bells and whistles. Even if that is not accurate, I can live with relative air flow measurements between the HVAC vents which will give me an idea of how each room is impacted. Overall this works for my need but hoping they can update the app to save data and provide some time frames to display the latest readings than have to scroll all the way down - even if that were possible with the slow display performance.

Great device so far
This is a very cool anemometer. I'll admit it is also my 1st. Purchased because I'm getting into drone flying and want to compare often inaccurate reported weather (via apps, etc) with what it's really like on the ground. Likes: - Easy to setup (turn on and good to go) - Easy to connect to your phone (no pairing or fiddling, just launch the app, wait a bit and it's connected) - I cannot comment on the accuracy having nothing to compare with additionally it's a bit directional so obviously when the wind changes direction it won't be as accurate at that point in time - I like the app, nice decently fast update - I'd say there's a 1 second delay or close between speed on device and speed in app - Not certain the temperature is accurate but it feels like it is Wishes - Data retention in the device (of course other models do that so it's more my fault) but maybe if it did not lose all data when you moved from current to max to min then back to current. Every switch seems like it resets the data. - Wished it would continuously record data on the app vs just when I click on save - Wished I could change the place it saves (such as to Google Drive) - Wished the App would allow to specify a period for the graph to scale over seconds or minutes or more Unsure what the usb port is for, maybe powering?

Excellent range for Bluetooth connection, will work great for shooting short distances
Bought this for shooting even though the stated Bluetooth range was 10 meters (33 feet). Bluetooth Class 2 is 2.5mW and conservatively rated at 33 feet. For my testing I paired to a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (SM-T280) tablet. It was a clear sunny morning, light wind, and away from any electrical noise sources. I set the anemometer up perpendicular to my shooting direction, near the target. You need to know the cross wind component to compensate for wind drift. Obviously I had a clear line of sight and started walking toward my shooting bench. After several trials, I always stayed connected at 150 feet (50 yards) and always dropped connection by 225 feet (75 yards). Each time I dropped connection I had to go back to the anemometer and power cycle it to re-establish the connection. The stated accuracy of +/- 5% is good enough for what I am doing, but I don't have a way of checking it. It would have been nice to display plus or minus for the air flow. There is an arrow on the top of the anemometer, I guess showing the direction of intended air flow, so you can read the display. In changing winds, you could end up compensating the wrong direction. For shooting, a ribbon will need to be near the anemometer to verify right or left wind bias. The vane spins opposite directions based on which side the air flows. I set up a fan to see if the anemometer would read the same regardless of air flow direction. Best I could tell, it does. The manual is OK, you can figure it out. A little more detail and a writer with more understanding of the English language would help. Overall, this is going to work great for my application.

Ease of use and accurate
The product performed exactly like it was specified. I especially like the app that came with the unit. I only wish the manufacturer would make a magnetic backing or adapter to hold the unit in place. I did glue a magnet on the back of the unit to be able to place it over a vent hands-free.

Ottimo prodotto.
