With consistency and repetition your cat should associate scratching with the noise and pheromones. My cats have cut down on scratching 99%. They need a reminder once in a while now as opposed to every 5 minutes.

Hi, I hope you consider feeding your cat a different cat food. Most vets would say the types they recommend meet your cat's nutritional needs, however they don't, so the poor animal feels hungry all the time. Switching to a good quality, grain-free wet or dry food such as Taste of the Wild or Diamond will provide all the nutrient combos your cat needs so they won't be hungry all the time. Btw, both of these are available here on Amazon. I learned this the hard way from a new vet after I'd kept my beloved kitty on a reducing diet recommended by my old vet and poor animal was always hungry. I had unknowingly kept my baby hungry for almost a year by feeding him the wrong type of food recommended by vet #1 and I feel so awful about it now. Once we changed to Taste of the Wild, my kitty's weight problem resolved and his obsession with eating ended.

My cat scratches the floor randomly at night and I want something to spray her when she does this but is the "horn" on this spray loud?

It is rather loud. I wouldn't say it's a "horn" but the air makes a hissing noise coming out of the can. My cats (3) all jump when I've sprayed it, it scares them so much. It's only taken those few times to get to where I just show them the can and they stop misbehaving (I got it to tone down inter-cat aggression). You may have luck with getting kitty to stop, but it may also wake up people in the room if you intend to spray it in the middle of the night.
